[9.0] "Way better performance and match in general here then there WWE singles they had, great and better chemistry in ECW which would make sense and it does show that Taz was better in the ECW days compared to when he was later in the WWE does commentary and a bit of in ring action. Great showing from both respected guys man."
[9.0] "Great title match here, I would say it's a bit underrated if anything as two of the hottest guys in ECW have a chaotic match. They chain it into Corino and co attacking Tommy Dreamer as he teases retirement, and I loved Dreamer forcing Tajiri to stay in the Tarantula as Taz charged down the ramp at him. You've got your sick strikes, you've got some extremely sick suplexes as expected, the whole thing feels quite wild and violent. The finish is highly unusual as Taz seemingly yanks a sharp piece of chain off the set and the camera pulls way out as Taz goes in to stab/strangle Tajiri. It's hard to see the actual spot but Taz comes away with his hand covered in blood, so something crazy seemed to happen. Very hot stuff, in my opinion."
[6.0] "Strange match its only 10 minutes and the finish cant really be seen because they went to a wide cam shot for it. The action before that was pretty good but yea strange finish and short time length. 3/5"
[5.0] "I can only assume that the gimmicked barbed wire looked awful so they chose not to show it, but being effectively unable to see the finish took the shine of what was a decent, if not great, match. They made a few strange choices on this show."
[7.0] "I will never understand ECW match lengths. Shane Douglas regularly got 20 minutes, but a great match-up like this only got 10 minutes? This was great while it lasted, with Tajiri delivering some stiff kicks, and Taz's suplexes looking near-perfect every time he executed them. Not sure what was going on with the ending as apparently they weren't allowed to show it (per Joey Styles on commentary), so instead they go to a wide shot where you can barely see what happened."
