Hirooki Goto vs. Togi Makabe

[7.0] "This was a good match. It was hard hitting, back and forth and great selling on show. Togi has such good facial expressions, the man is terrifying! Togi shouting/swearing at the fans/Goto was great too."

[6.0] "Goto gets his revenge in the G1 for his broken jaw last year. Overall I don't think this is anywhere near as good as these two can do but it's a good story match for opening night. That seems to be the pattern with a lot of the results so far but not every match needs to be Rock/Austin at X-7. Perfectly fine match."

[8.0] "This was great! Very hard hitting, back and forth match that built to a great finish and had the crowd the whole time. Hard to ask for more. 4 stars"

[7.0] "In a vacuum we can say it was just a hard hitting hoss match but with context of how Makabe broke Goto jaw the year prior and Goto going after his jaw here and Makabe selling it was a nice bit of storytelling. ***1/2"

[5.0] "This was a fine, hard-hitting match, with the highlight of it being a fairly strong final few minutes."

[6.0] "This was pretty good but nothing extraordinary, both should be getting much better muches during the tournament"

[8.0] "Man, they hit each other hard. This match was awesome and the final stretch where Goto did horrible things to Makabe’s injured jaw was just fantastic. ****"

[8.0] "A very hard hitting match that was a lot of fun. I love Makabe's schtick of screaming stuff at his opponent at the top of his lungs. Anyway, this match had some really stiff spots, including some amazingly hard lariats thrown by both Makabe and Goto that really looked like they were going to knock each others' heads off."
