Dan Maff & Samoa Joe vs. Mike Awesome & Vader

[8.0] "Super fun to watch Joe right before he really becomes a big deal get his ass beat down by Vader & Mike Awesome and then need to hot tag into Dan Maff. To be fair though, the heat segment was really good and the hot tag from Maff was actually sick as hell with him taking it to Vader but still getting muscled around. The stuff with Maff getting held back by the ref and the turn from Joe into the finish were lame though, and brought the match down. ***3/4"

[9.0] "Obviously you'd want to watch this match to see vader and joe go at it and once that happens its pretty sick. Awesome had some good exchanges with joe too, especially that chair shot off the top. Maff is the weak link but hes a decent foil for the veterans while joe waits to be tagged in. Really fun and underrated tag match"

[4.0] "Cool on paper and probably would have been more exciting if Joe was one year on in his career as it's not long until like the Kobashi or Misawa matches, but career wise it's an age away. Vader and Awesome don't want to give anything and Joe and Maff don't really assert themselves in a way they would be able to later in their careers. Mostly extended beatdowns of Joe and Maff though Joe does get a few spots, interesting that the hot crowd really doesn't respond to either of Joe and Maff's big spots though. Cool that it happened but not much here."

[6.0] "This was a solid match. Let's be honest, no one watches this match because it was an all time great match or some amazing angle happened. People watch this match for the novelty of seeing Samoa Joe and Vader in the ring together. When Joe and Vader were in the ring together, it was a lot of fun. Joe and Awesome did good together too. I'm not too familiar with Dan Maff, but whenever he was in the ring, it wasn't as good. He wasn't bad by any means, but it just wasn't as interesting. The camera didn't pick up on it, but I think Joe cost Dan Maff the match, because Joe celebrated with Mike Awesome and Vader while Maff was down. ***"

[7.0] "The first part of this match was quite underwhelming for what was basically a dream match but then it picked up once Joe entered. Unfortunately Dan Maff was the weakest part of this match. Joe took a beating which isnt common. Vader did his stiff non-WWE style but was somewhat limited. Awesome was very much Mike Awesome in this match"

[6.0] "While the sequences between Joe and Vader were great, the rest of the match was pretty meh. Awesome and Maff just didn't do anything for me here."

[6.0] "Pretty poor quality is the video I managed to find, crazy that Joe got to compete with Vader and that is really the only notable thing in the match, the crowd were very happy to see Joe and Vader in the same ring and for what it was it was very fun"
