Ryo Mizunami vs. Suzume

"The match told a good story with Suzume being a great underdog Face, however, Ryo was just too much too handle. First time seeing both of these wrestlers and I thought it was a fantastic introduction to them both."

[5.0] "I don't see the reason why this has such a good rating but this might just be my opinion. Didn't really pick up much."

[8.0] "As predictable as this match was it was no less entertaining. Ryo Mizunami has killed it so far in her appearances with TJPW. Can't wait to see her wrestle the rest of the roster."

[6.0] "This match started smoothly with Ryo Mizunami establishing herself as the stronger veteran. The latter part was hit and miss with mostly decent spots, some fails and the story didn't connect to me."

[6.0] "I'm not a big fan of Mizunami and her comedic style of overacting, also there were some moves not so smoothly executed. Other than that, a very good match. 6/10 breads"

[8.0] "I give it 8 because of a couple of small botches, but I can't disagree with those who give it 8. As one of english comenanors told, this match was stealing the show. Suzume is very cool in overpocoming. Her selling, her cute bee-persona, it all worked in this match. Probably her second most important singles match in her career after defeating Rika Tatsumi. 4.25*"

[6.0] "This was solid all be it some spots that were not executed as planned. Although those roll up near falls were supposed to be the big moments of the match for Suzume so it brought it down for me. I doubt Mizunami will be getting a title shot now after beating so many on the roster. So Suzume got a singles match. Nothing more."

[7.0] "Based on the build of each wrestler, you knew what story they were going to tell in the ring and they did exactly that. It wasn't quite as good as I was hoping to be but in the range of ***3/4"

[6.0] "While clearly, Mizunami was always going to be the overdog, she eventually gave way to Suzume? s insistent offense, and while this wasn? t a 50/50 match by any means, it was a good showing for Suzume that left me wanting more out of both. It never hit the top gear, but it was good enough for its placement on the card."

[7.0] "That was good. Both combined well together. There was some suspense and a good dynamic between them. It was too short to be better"

[8.0] "Suzume is a testament that with enough heart it doesn't matter how silly your gimmick is. She was so great as an underdog trying to find various angles to attack the larger, stronger opponent from. Her plancha has a low flight duration and resembles falling more than it does flying but conveys her desperate struggle for victory. Mizunami was a true professional who understood her role as a veteran helping to bring out the best in her younger opponent and as a low carder helping excite the crowd early. There were some clever sequences built around Suzume's Gun Stun straight out of a Tama Tonga or Karl Anderson match. ****"

[9.0] "It only took two appearances for Aniki to become one of the best freelancers to ever appear in TJPW. In her matches with Miu and now Suzume, Mizunami has challenged her opponents to match her unique combination of charisma and physicality, and the results have been two of the best matches in the careers of those two young stars. Suzume took a loss here, but I feel the match was clearly an overwhelming success for her. The more serious demeanor and additional wrinkles in Suzume's offense underscore that she belongs in big matches, the fans are hungrier than ever to see her succeed in those big matches, and she? s building the credibility to win those big matches as she continues her rise up the card."

[9.0] "Ryo Mizunami has had 2 matches in TJPW and they are 2 of my favorite this year. Much like the Miu match, Ryo is the powerhouse and the veteran toying with the young underdog. Suzume has great babyface fire. I almost bit on that submission nearfall."

[8.0] "The moment this match was announced, everyone knew how it'd go: Suzume would put forth a great effort, it would get thrilling down the stretch and she'd lose in the end. That's exactly what happened and it was still really good. The progress Suzume's made is amazing and I hope she wins a singles title before long."
