[8.0] "[4.0*] Incredible match and the best Multi Man match of the whole Sheamus vs Gunther rivalry. This was by far the MOTN and the right team won. A perfect match to get the Donnybrook gimmick over that set the crowd on fire. Greatly done."

[8.0] "A slobberknocker of an opener. This is stables warfare at its best; two great leaders with banging singles matches together, getting their teammates involved to solve things out. The stipulation is cool and fits the hard-hitting nature of the stables leaders perfectly, it's action-packed with some good brawling and nice spots, it's quite chaotic as well. Sheamus gets a well deserved win in this rivalry while Gunther stays protected, so yeah, great stuffs. [ 85 ] **** 1/4"

[9.0] "This was easily the best match of the night and of course it was expected. Brawling Brutes vs. Imperium has achieved massive praise as a feud by putting on absolute bangers on a repetitive basis. This was fast paced, filled with action, just another casual brawl. The momentum per person in the match had their own shine. In terms of any problems.. I had none. I found nothing wrong with it. It was fantastic and was the best match of the night. Good job to all the performers. The chemistry between both teams are fantastic. Just keep delivering these matches, I have zero complaints."

This is the last of the Gunter/Sheamus saga that I had to watch and its one of the best 6 man matches in history. Its essentially just a slugfest between a bunch of stiff strong boys but thats my cup of tea. The comeback of the Brutes at the end was well done and I loved Kaiser here as he was pulling off some wild moves that Ive never even seen done in any match. Loved this."

uselessdollthing wrote on 09.04.2024:
[5.0] "A pretty alright match. I was expecting more chaos but there was actual storytelling here with Imperium getting the lead at the start with the Brutes making the triumphant come back. There was some empty space at points which caused the pace of the match to feel a bit off, although this was not as bad as some other tag matches of this nature. Honestly kind of wish this match went longer, felt like Sheamus and Gunther could have went at it for a little bit more."

[9.0] "These teams have a ton of chemistry and it made for a fun brawl with a great pace and plenty of fun moments. Sheamus and Butch each have a phenomenal performance in this one and brought a ton of energy to the match. Sheamus especially is perfectly suited to this situation and with his intensity and charisma I thought he was the matches MVP. Gunther and Imperium are out of their element a little bit in this overbooked WWE-style chaotic spotfest, but they are still great. I absolutely loved this feud. Sheamus' late-career resurgence combined with Gunther's first proper run in the WWE was an amazing combination. ****1/2"

[9.0] "I'm really glad that at the end of his career, Sheamus was able to redefine himself so well and even got his own gimmick match, it's cool. Although unlike the match between Sheamus and Drew, the gimmick rules here served more as an entourage, I really liked the match. Thus, it clearly shows the difference in the approach of Seamus and Gunther to managing their stables, if Gunther relies on his authority and strict hierarchy, Seamus, Butch and Ridge are based on mutual respect and mutual assistance. As a result, we got one of the best matches on the show. ****3/4"

The Donnybrook stipulation was something I was very unsure of when it was first announced for Sheamus vs Drew, but both times the stipulation has delivered and I would love to see more. This has got to be my personal Match of the Night for Extreme Rules 2022."

The stipulation didn't add anything interesting to this. The strikes aren't even that stiff, and the offense feels one-note. Butch, Kaiser, and Vinci made this worth a watch. Their work is more compelling than the others. ***"

The fans were red hot for that shit, as the wrestlers. Everybody shone here, especially the sidekicks and I think that was the very purpose of it. Wild brawl, with the big spots which came with it, and that was just completely crazy."

It was a fun and entertaining contest from bell to bell with both teams showing us their impressive craft. Even the weakest link Holland gave a commendable perfomance. Great match. ****1/2"

It felt like a deathmatch, where everyone tapped into their primal instincts and beat each other like screaming cavemen. I swear I could hear everyone's heart pounding out of their chest as they made their desperate, bloody war cry and innovated new ways to beat the tee-total shit out each other. *6*, and I wouldn't blame anyone for having this be their match of the year."

I don't know if it was the face turn for Sheamus, or the first singles match they had, but man I am hooked on the Celtic Warrior now. This match was everything it needed to be and more. Absolutely stole the show and made me a fan of both superstars."

[9.0] "One of the best PPV starters of the year and another candidate from WWE for the MOTY listing. Both factions found their place as two of the best teams to rule the industry & held that position concrete through the insane display of action here. The main story is between Sheamus & WALTER, but the sub-routes didn't disappoint as Ridge, Dunne, Kaiser & Vinci filled the shoes of elevating the match to the next level in their own style of rock-hard altercations. I'm a huge fan of both teams as they exercised the best they had, left it all in the ring and can't feel nothing but proud of the handiwork. Sheamus is firing on all cylinders this whole time which could've changed the vision towards him among the fans thereby gaining the possible "Wrestler of the Year" status & the same can be said to the Intercontinental champ as well. To summarize, an opener that couldn't have gone any better than what transpired in front of our own eyes. 4.5 out of 5 stars!"

Imperium perhaps need their own personalities but they played their roles well here. This may be the best Sheamus has been for years too, finally getting the recognition he deserves."

[7.0] "I enjoyed the match quite a bit, all involved are people I enjoy watching., Sheamus especially has been on quite the run and has had a great rivalry with GUNTHER up to this point. While I do not think this match reaches the heights of the singles encounters these two have had, I enjoyed this because it spotlighted both groups and gives a nice style change to most of the wrestling that was present on this show. My biggest gripe with this match is that I wish they did more with the stipulation or had a different stipulation that fit the action of the match. It would have made more sense if it was just a Shillelagh Match or something similar since that was the main weapon used in the match. Perhaps it would have made more sense for this to be a backstage brawl instead as well, but that would have taken away from the live aspect and probably hurt the match being on a PLE. Overall solid match with hard hitting strikes. Looking forward to them continuing this storyline."

The fans were screaming with happiness, and the fighters conquered everyone from the beginning to the end of the show. Fight forever or it's awesome! I haven't received such a charge of vivacity and adrenaline for a long time. Sheamus was all on fire and didn't take a step back. Brawling Brutes and Imperium are two phenomenal bands that make WWE the best place for talent. Wow! I couldn't have imagined this a year ago. Now being WWE fans is cool and popular. The match of the year and in general the favorite feud of all my friends and colleagues. Everyone is watching and everyone is happy about what they saw."

Imperium had some great tag team moves at the start and both team wonderfully carried over the tag action into a brawl. Sheamus and WALTER especially delievered a great meat-slapping as usual. Dunne had some amazing spots and Ridge looked better than the last time I saw him. The stipulation also added to the match, helping the slobberknocker with some new weapons and spots."
GoldLiger wrote on 13.10.2022:
[9.0] "One of the best WWE Trios matches in a good while. Just a ton of great brawling and just enough use of the stip. Face Sheamus being so over by beating the fuck out of people with his buddies is so awesome, he's in peak form this entire feud. Imperium have so much continuity as a team that they cut the faces off at just the right times, but the Brutes always just had the fire to power through and just throw themselves around. Ridge actually looked good here, and if the weakest link in a match is having a good night you know it's a killer show. The knocking over of the bar and barrels, the continuity with the Shillelagh for a nearfall and Gunther's comeuppance, the spot of all three Brutes just wailing on Gunther after the 10 Beats; excellent use of the stip while putting the focus on the flesh-to-flesh beatdowns. Better than the TV matches of the feud but obviously not on par with the first singles match in the UK. ****1/4+"

[8.0] "This lived up to the hype and then some. Extremely physical as all six wrestlers managed to shine when the spotlight ended up on them. Gunther vs. Sheamus is entering Feud of the Year territory and their partners in crime have been perfect alongside them. Pete Dunne showed why he is one of the very best wrestlers on the planet, especially, as he brought the tenacity, intensity, and energy that should make him a champion multiple times over in WWE. Giovanni Vinci and Ludwig Kaiser unleashed ridiculous double team offense that used the environment to perfection. Ridge Holland is a freak of a powerhouse. And Gunther and Sheamus are among the best in the game today for obvious reasons. 4.25 stars, 8.5 out of 10. An outstanding opener."

[8.0] "Good match. Sheamus has completely revitalized his career with his GUNTHER feud. He looked great again here. GUNTHER was a hoss as always, and those two kept it stiff which really helps put over a match like this one. In a night that featured a ladder match, an I Quit match, and a pit fight, it's telling that the Donnybrook match looked the most legitimate thanks to the stiff work and good use of spots by all those involved. The lackeys played their parts well, with Ludwig being the standout to me. Everything he does is so smooth. The Brutes deserved the win here to keep this feud going, which outside of The Bloodline, is the most best storyline in WWE right now. [****]"

They got themselves into a situation where Gunther should still probably have a lengthy reign, but Sheamus also got massively over and his crew needed the rub too. Gunther wins the battle on Friday but Brawling Brutes win the war. Both sides can still move forward and upwards. They beat each other up for about eighteen minutes and you could feel a lot of the pain and violence they were showing off here."

The beatdown on Sheamus when Imperium took out Ridge and Butch was really good, those chops he did while Sheamus was on the barricade was brutal, so was when Sheamus and co did it to Gunther. The one on one interactions with Sheamus and Gunther were probably the best part about this match and had the crowd absolutely hot, I loved when Sheamus kicked out of the clothesline off the shillelagh since that's what cost him the match on SD the night before.****1/2"

Imperium really aren't meant for a fast-paced six-man spotfest, and it shows, and the individual pairings, I guess with the arguable exception of Sheamus and Gunther, are starting to feel pretty stale. The constant camera cuts in this one are brutal, too. It's still a more than passable match with good action, but given what's come before it, it feels pretty weak."
