Saya Iida vs. Starlight Kid

[7.0] "What a dope match. Saya still clearly dislikes Kid for abandoning STARS, especially when she was gone, so she showed it. If Iida incorporates lariats in her game, ala MIRAI, it will only make her better. ***1/2"

[7.0] "The match was great in everything apart from result. Common, this was Iida's match, and Kitto didn't need this win considering she's been eliminated from the tournament an hour later."

[8.0] "Fun match. Easily one of Saya's best matches this tournament, she looked great (due in no small part to SLK's great selling)."

[9.0] "A very cool match, I couldn't even imagine that they could have such excellent chemistry between themselves. Iida was a luxurious brawler and controlled the situation, despite her status, and Starlight had to really dodge and look for good moments to win, and I felt her anger when the main submission, due to the location, didn't bring results. The last minute made me go crazy, it was VERY convincing and cool, this is what I've been waiting for from Iida throughout the tournament, she finally turned on Ishii-mod, which showed up so great only in the first match against Giulia, and was as close as possible to the biggest victory in her career. Starlight was saved only by experience. There is a huge potential in Iida, she is the pearl of the generation (****1/2)."

[8.0] "An amazing match of strong small girl and fast small girl that didn't start out as something really cool, but I enjoyed the work of both wrestlers and was ready to rate them 7, but the final part that started with that excellent mad lariat was just incredible. Really tough and intense fight where Iida showed her brawler perseverance."

[7.0] "Good, fun and intense match with a lot of fighting spirit especially from the side of Iida. Awesome finishing sequence."

[7.0] "A highly-anticipated match between former faction-mates, this one went from 0 to 80 in a matter of seconds. Back when SLK was forced to join Oedo Tai last year, Iida was on the shelf for a few months meaning she wasn't able to participate in that match and fight for SLK's honor and whatnot. By the time Iida returned this March SLK was not only fully entrenched in the darkness, she had become one of the leaders of OT. This match was not only their first singles encounter in over three years, it was the first time they faced off in a singles match as members of rival factions. Iida went on the offensive immediately, SLK responded right back and these two put on a heated show for the next seven minutes. Iida's known for her power-based offense but SLK, who has largely been known for her speed, is also quietly developing power-based arsenal of her own. They both meshed really well, making me wish they had more time to work with when all was said and done. There were some good intangibles too, like Iida's selling, the counters from both her and SLK, etc. There was a moment where Iida headbutted SLK's chest and it completely took me by surprise, before the sudden but fitting ending and equally heated aftermath. I'd love to see a title match between them, no matter what belt it's for, because they'd steal the show if given the chance. 7.5/10"
