[8.0] "Great return match for Kenny after his long absence. His entrance was appropriately grandiose and his performance was so good that I remember people at the time legitimately thinking he had come back too early. The fake "botches" were obviously planned, but done well and played into the story of Kenny not being 100% after his many injuries. Everyone else in the match was also great, especially Dragon Lee, whose dive to the outside was crazy, though I could've done without them almost hitting a little kid. The worst part of it all was easily JR, who was insufferable on commentary and just wouldn't stop acting like a petty brat every 5 seconds. Other than that, this match was great and did its job in getting the Best Bout Machine back into the picture. ***3/4"
[8.0] "Great return for Kenny Omega, who looked appropriately rusty, struggling with positioning on some moves. I like that it started a little slow and awkward for the Elite before picking up steam after the final commercial break. Dragon Lee's tope con giro into the crowd was sensational, as was Omega's V-Trigger on Dragon Lee."
[8.0] "Great trios match. Lots of high flying spots from these teams. The bucks and Omega looked excellent. Andrade, Rush, and Dragon lee did great as well."
[8.0] "Kenny Omega's return was magnificent, I was so happy to see back and despite being heavily taped up he took one hell of a beating so cheers to him. The action was fun and excting as you'd expect with these two teams involved. In the first part LFI took the upper hand and targeted Omega's weak points until a great comeback by the Bucks. The triple suplex spot was amazing. LFI took the upper hand again until another hot tag that lead to an excellent comeback by Omega. The suicide dive by Dragon Lee was incredible as well as his frankenstainer off the apron and in general every member of LFI delivered good perfomances, especially Andrade who was injured for most of this match but kept wrestling and wrestled a great match. Omega hitting the one winged angel for the win was a great moment. 8/10 - 4.25*/5*"
[6.0] "Kenny Omega being back brought some nice life into the usual Bucks spotfest formula. Omega's selling of his injuries was really damn good. His bumping was wild and I felt like I was getting worked at certain points because his selling was so convincing. The heat segments were really slow because they went through 2 commercial breaks and LFI aren't experienced in that area. The Elite's triple team work was all very good, and the action picked up in the final 5-7 minutes with some fast paced back-and-forth. Omega's V-Trigger to Dragon Lee looked so good, it might've actually knocked him out. Dragon Lee's dive into the crowd was one of the most stupid spots I think I've ever seen. Yes, it was undoubtedly very impressive but I don't know how anyone involved in this thought it was a good idea. ***1/4"
[9.0] "The return of the One Winged Angel, its fabulous to see him here again. As expected, great match with a lot of tricks, moves and an amazing aura around the return of Kenny. This is why I really love The Elite, The the Elite. The expulsion of Dragon Lee indeed was a surprise, hopefully Tony will have any some better material for him. Good match. [****1/2]"
[8.0] "A really good spotfest, a really good "opener" for the trios tournament and a really good return for Kenny Omega. Good but slow first part with the Faccion Ingobernable targeting Omega's weak points, but the spotfest parts are great (the triple Vertical Suplex and Dragon Lee's Suicide dive on the crowd were fantastic)"
[6.0] "It's a nice moment to have Omega back but this kind of spotfest has limited potential to me. Nothing truly resonates in a match like this. I think this style is better suited to warm up the crowd as an opener rather than the main event because you're left with something which is sweet in parts but largely without substance."
[7.0] "I'll probably get sick of these Bucks and Omega multi-man tags if they start being featured every single week like they were prior to Omega's injury layoff, but for this being the first of those in what may as well be a whole year, this was pretty good. There were the usual acrobatic spots from the Bucks, some of which looked good (usually Nick's) and some which looked decent but a bit underwhelming (usually Matt's). Omega made the most of this as his return match by showing a lot of charisma and energy in his initially mostly generic offence, and I liked the side story of him (kayfabe) showing that he still wasn't 100% after his long injury layoff. Andrade, Lee, and Rush all looked very good with their flashy and aggressive signature offence and their heelish control work, making Omega even more sympathetic on-top of his existing struggle with not being fully match-fit. The various multi-man spots and sequences all looked pretty good, though there were a few bits of awkward chemistry within and between the teams. They lost some direction and engagement a bit after the midway point as LFI's control work became quite long and a slight bit sloppier, but it picked up again as The Elite got their comeback and Omega got the hot tag following the return from the ad break. Some of The Elite's 3-man spots looked a bit too goofy, but the end product always had pretty good technique. Lee's massive dive into the crowd was pretty stupid, but no-one was hurt and it looked great, so I still thought it made for a really cool moment. Omega looked very good when it came to the various signature moves he intermittently sprinkled throughout the match, making for an enjoyable finish as he finally secured the win. ***1/4"
[1.0] "Im happy for Kenny Omega that he's back, but this was boring. Its obvious Omega isn't 100% yet, he looked tired, he looked rusty, nothing wrong with that but it was obvious. Andrade, Rush and Lee were obnoxious in the worst way, they wrested so boring this match. the biggest sin of this match was them doing the spot where Lee jumped out the ring into Omega off the railing, they hit a little kid in the face! So stupid and so unprofessional! I would be pissed if I was Tony Khan. Also what the hell was that at the end? Why did Lees own brother n friend unmask him? That doesn't excite me tbh."
[5.0] "A very nice deal for Kenny Omega, whether he performs well or not many fans will praise him just the same it seems for his "storytelling". In all seriousness I did feel underwhelmed with this, the pop for Omega was great but his performance left me feeling unsure, especially the extremely rough looking finish. Poor Dragon Lee, I knew he'd take the pin even though he looked far and away best in the match, hopefully they sign him and use him to his potential which is incredibly high."
[8.0] "Kenny Omega is fucking back, and damn, he delivered. I think that the thing with his shoulder is quite of a work, but he did a great story on it. Dude's feeling like Terminator with all the injuries he suffered. However, the bout was too much on Omega, even if the action was surely good. Lee played nice, but that's not the motto of LFI. The Bucks' work was good, they isolated him whereas El Idolo and Rush did the same to Omega. The Best Bout Machine took some hard bumps, as always. The second part of the bout was energic as hell and had a good story as well, but I felt a bit of a false rythm. For sure, this fight has planted seeds in the stories of each of the factions."
[9.0] "In one of the worst kept secrets in AEW, Kenny Omega made his long awaited return to the promotion with the Young Bucks. Although Kenny was clearly rusty in his in-ring work, he was still excellent overall, with that bump over the guardrail sparking a big reaction out of me. A big whole that Kenny left in AEW has finally been filled again, and it's great to see him return. Los Ingobernables also were excellent as well, which made it a shame that someone had to lose this match. I'm unsure of what the plans for the faction are after this match, but it looks like it involves Dragon Lee going against Rush and Andrade. 9/10"
[8.0] "A fine return match for Kenny. He was a little rough in places but that's to be expected considering all the injuries he's been recovering from. I liked the story of Dragon Lee not going along with his teammates heel antics though I wish the betrayal by Andrade and RUSH hadn't been cut off so abruptly."
[8.0] "Not Kenny's biggest fan or anything but I'm happy to see him back, I thought he had a pretty good performance with his selling, his offense looked good while he was in. The match in itself was actually really good and Kenny hit the one winged angel for the win.****1/4"
[8.0] "These are the moments that make me a wrestling fan. Even though we all knew he was going to be back, we had to see it with our own eyes. The fight isn't even that important even though it's great. So much Kenny Omega acting, I don't know if it's a work or if he's not fully recovered from his injuries. It's brilliant but it makes me quite uncomfortable during the fight. The Bucks are as outstanding as usual and Dragon Lee gives a very outstanding performance. It's an unforgettable moment after so many weeks without Kenny Omega, he's finally back and it's to win those trio titles."
[8.0] "Yeah! Kenny Omega is making a big comeback and of course I am worried about his preparation, but it is clear that he is getting back into shape and it seems very soon he will become the best in the ring again. It was a tough match, the fighters didn't have enough time at first, but they accelerated and it became very good. Dragon Lee probably stole the match in his team, it's just that his every action is a top level of athleticism. In the Elite, of course, Kenny eclipsed everyone, and although he did not make a Terminator Jump, he pleased with ringing blows from the knee. A great tournament match in which everyone contributed to the improvement of the match and added joy to the fans."
[8.0] "I believe this match is rated so highly because of Kennys return. Kenny did an excellent job working ring rust and potentially not being a 100% into this match in a way that was believable and made perfect sense. Dragon lee was great here but Andrades faction needs more backstory and tv time for me to care about them. Post match segment felt weird. It was an enjoyable match and it was great catching glimpses of the old Kenny. Was hoping he'd be a surprise return at the PPV in a few weeks but I'll trust the process and hope there is a plan in place."
[8.0] "A fun trios match elevated by the return of Omega. Kenny said he wanted to tell more stories and he did an excellent job working ring rust into the story here. Andrade and Rush were great heel bruisers while Dragon Lee and the Bucks had most of the big spots. A very good match elevated by a big return. ****"
[8.0] "Part of me wanted just a bonkers match to finally break JR but we got a rudo/technicos match. It was really good stuff with the highlight being the return of Omega."
[8.0] "What could've been a total PWG movez match was instead... a really good rudos-technicos match? Where Los Ingobernables gave The Elite most of the big action and didn't go straight to get-my-shit-in mode as expected? Is this bizarro world? Whatever the case may be, LFI know their role here-- feed, feed, feed-- and boy, did it work wonders. Their moments came in spurts, and they felt way more meaningful because of it-- the huge Dragon Lee dive being a prime example. For The Elite, Omega plays up the "ring rust" a lot, and it adds a good dimension to the story here. The final touch of DL being kicked from LFI for being too much of a goody two shoes and for getting pinned was bungled at the end, but hopefully something good will come from it."
[9.0] "I see why you wouldn? t enjoy this match as much as others, as some of the spots were very generic and contrived. But later on in the match they delivered with some downright brilliant offence. Like when Dragon Lee dived on to Kenny when he was on the barricade."
[9.0] "What a great wrestling and what a great ending, giving a good wrestling show, being six in a ring (even if it's by turns), what a good return of Kenny Omega, and very happy to see him wrestling again."
[6.0] "The Bucks and Rick Knox knocked this from a solid 4 stars match. These three work together every time to do "cool shit" with no regards whatsoever to the rules. The commentary team buried Knox several times and rightfully so. It was cool to see Kenny back and I like Andrade and Rush but they couldn't have saved this, nobody could."
[7.0] "Loses a point for having a little too much 'everyone gets in the ring at once while Rick Knox ignores it', as is to be expected with the performers involved, but man it was so cool to see Omega back; I was grinning like an idiot during his entrance. He obviously isn't at 100% but they did a great job working that into the story of the match and it added a lot to the story. Ingobernables played their roles really well and Dragon Lee's dive was insane. Absolutely worth a watch."
[9.0] "9.5 - We may look back on this as a 'HHH with a torn quad' performance from Andrade. His arm/shoulder looked to be hurt on Nick's dive, but rather than bail out, he just pivoted to the other side, or went for it anyway. The ELITE did a perfect babyface trios routine playing on Kenny's return. Dragon Lee's dive was incredible."
[9.0] "The greatest professional wrestler to ever live is back folks, and I could not be happier. Awesome match. I do wish we could've gotten the full version of Kenny and not just the appetizer but I do fully understand and like the story they're telling. Him wrestling with a compression vest and the thing on his shoulder and not being able to do his ''You can't escape'' sequence is great and it will be an insane moment when he loses that and transforms into his final form. Also need to say a word in relation to Nick Jackson who is the best tag wrestler in the world. The guy is so insanely talented is ridiculous. Also, Dragon Lee needs to be signed, he couldn't even show that much of his arsenal since he was the one getting beat up most of the way through but he was still so great. That suicide dive is always so crazy to watch."
[8.0] "It feels great to see Omega back in a wrestling ring after these many months but he definitely has a lot of ring rust to be dusted off. He visibly acknowledged it and I hope he knocks it off faster. Dragon Lee surely utilised this shot he got to impress the fans as well as the management on why he's one of the top class luchadores right now. He brought masterful offense while receiving the same from The Elite in beautiful fashion. LFI worked great as a trio showing out great chemistry and controlling the match at a steady pace. Bucks were loose enough to shoot out as usual but restricted themselves to sell the fact that Kenny is not there to the fullest. The story was very good and presented neatly. The Elite won as expected but the unexpected was not shown full as Dragon was cut off of LFI with a turncoat DDT from Andrade. Hope he sprouts more chances in AEW as a singles combatant. 4 out of 5 stars!"
[9.0] "Some god-tier level selling by Kenny in this match. Excellent heat segments, everyone was popping. Dragon Lee gets the gold star for this one, some crazy moves and top tier selling by him as well. But good christ, the post match angle getting cut off was ridiculous. Wtf Tony, get your shit together. It's crap like this that makes AEW still look like the new kid in town."
[7.0] "This match will mostly be remembered for Kenny Omegas first match back but I believe Dragon Lee was the real star, Ive never seen him before this and he was great. As for Kenny, its clear hes not 100% but he was still being Kenny Omega"
[7.0] "Sloppy as hell but it was cool. Kenny came back and still somehow looked great but it was mostly the Bucks and Dragon Lee doing crazy shit. Dragon Lee ate shit for most of the match and hit an awesome dive which was the only thing of note from this. Kenny hitting the One Winged Angel on Lee was a nice finish even if I wasn't too into them winning. Post match though lmao I really do hope Andrade and them went into business for themselves because if they did goddamn. They're so raw. ***3/4"
[9.0] "Kenny was playing into both the match at hand and the long-term storyline by selling his injuries to death, which was fantastic. A great return; every competitor in this match showed up."
[9.0] "Not the biggest Young Bucks fan but they didn't go over-board with SuperKicks and flashy moves. Kenny Omega is (of course) back and his selling in this match was great(maybe he was really struggling but I don't they would have cleared him). The Elite win when Omega pinned Dragon Lee after a One Winged Angel. After the match Rush and Andrade turned on Lee (stop giving Andrade stable please) ****1/4"
[10.0] "When the selling is so good, you think Kenny is still injured you know that this is a master at work. That Dragon lee spot is an all timer dive, even Darby not messing with that one. What a fantastic return match."
[10.0] "This is a historic landmark. Having Kenny Omega back after his time out due to injuries is pretty awesome. He and the Young Bucks are amazing together. I love that!"
[10.0] "Kenny's return was great, he's clearly still struggling and rusty but showed just how good he is by working through it - the trios matches are an ideal way to come back as he can leave the ring when necessary. All six of the wrestlers here are among the best in the world and showed it, with a great mix of flashy spots, hard hitting moves and entertaining action."
[8.0] "Pretty good main event, Omega got a massive pop for his return and was a great great babyface in this match. He clearly has a long way to go before he's back in top form, but I liked this a lot. Andrade, Rush & Ryu worked well as heels to help keep Bucks & Omega over as babyfaces and even The Bucks seemed in better form than usual. It probably ran a bit too long and Jim Ross on commentary was extremely distracting because he kept challenging Don & Taz. But good stuff."
