[9.0] "Great match with two guys who go very well together. Brutal and stiff and exemplified the differing styles of Yamazaki's stiff and faster paced strike heavy offense and the slower, more methodical grappling of Fujiwara. Audience was very into the match, and it was paced phenomenally. One of the better pairings in shoot style, they basically deliver a great match anytime they're in the ring and this match proves to be no exception. ****1/4"
[8.0] "This was similar to Super Tiger vs Fujiwara from a month before, with Yamazaki playing the role of the "striker" vs Fujiwara's "grappler" role. This of course makes for an interesting dynamic, although Yamazaki probably doesn't pose the same threat Super Tiger does. That probably translates into this match with Yamazaki not being as vicious, but he does manage to corner Fujiwara several times and that creates some interesting situations for Fujiwara to launch his comebacks. Yamazaki is quicker than Super Tiger is on the mat, so that probably allows for more engaging network though. As quick as he is, Fujiwara still has the upper hand and this becomes more evident as the match evolves. Fujiwara weathers the storm and eventually gets Yamazaki where he wants them. A very solid and engaging match that conveys struggle and strategy, as well as brutality in the early shoot-style format. ****1/4"
[8.0] "There is a kick that Yamazaki delivers while Fujiwara is in the corner around 8 minutes in that you could probably hear from the parking lot. A lot better flow in this match between going from strikes to submissions. Most UWF matches I've watched before this start on the ground, submissions, then strikes, but the mixing it up helps with the drama."
[7.0] "I gave this match *** 1/2. As usual, solid stuff from UWF. There are some VERY strong strikes/kicks in this match that look particularly brutal. However, I thought this match was lacking that extra something to take it to the next level."
