Cody Rhodes & Goldust vs. Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins

[8.0] "Really, really, really good match. Good and not overboard storytelling. Emotional moments. Really good wrestling. I think it lacked a little bit of drama to be truly next-level, but this is a damn fine tag-team match. Dusty is so damn charismatic, and he delivers his last bionic elbow. Miss you, baby."

[6.0] "Ending was good, particularly the cross rhodes to finish the match and the crowd was hot, but upto that was a totally standard tag team match, also US Champion Dean Ambrose getting knocked around by nearly 70 year old Dusty made him look a bit silly."

[9.0] "Emotional and incredible match by itself. I think it was way too short for a match that was developed for MONTHS and it was related with one of the most respected wrestling families we had, but the match itself is incredible and had some unique moments. Cody's Moonsault was pretty cool, it was like, one of the three moments he ever did that move. Goldust and Cody's offensive was great, great hot tags, it is a great match overall. Dusty took more reaction than I was expecting or even remembered, fucking legend."

[10.0] "An emotional match that led to the Rhodes family all having one last moment together in a wrestling standpoint with Buffalo being red hot for this match. From the prematch promos and video package concerning this match and what was at stake if the Rhodes were to lose this one. It's all really great. It's an absolute gem of a match in the middle of a bad PPV that led to one of my favourite feel good moments in wrestling. Classical tag team wrestling at its finest right here with The Shield looking to isolate the good guys by cutting the ring in half to help build up the duelling hot tags from both Cody and Dustin after they both got some early shine in to start the match. Cody's hot tag in this match was godly, and Dustin is one of the best babyface wrestlers ever, he did a great job selling, being sympathetic when he was getting worked on. The closing stretch of this match with Dusty popping Ambrose with a bionic elbow with his belt and then Cody dropping Seth with one of his best Cross Rhodes still to this day. chills. and with a win, the Rhodes manage to keep their jobs. Pretty sick gesture that ensued after the match with the WWE lockeroom and some of the legends in the business coming out to congratulate the Rhodes for keeping their jobs. This was incredible. One of the more underrated matched in fed history and one of the more underrated matches during this era and decade of the promotion. *****"

[10.0] "The best Cross Rhodes of all time may have been featured in the match at the end. The crowd was heavily invested and even though the wrestiling wasn't that great, the story was as well as the final sequence to this match"

[6.0] "They made it very obvious who the winners of the match would be because of the stipulation. Good match, well paced and the crowd was into it. Seth sold finish very well, probably one of the best looking Cross Rhodes delivered. It doesn't kick into higher gear to warrant higher score."

[6.0] "I...don't get the praise for this match? I'm left scratching my head. This isn't even the slightest bit special. It is absolutely a well worked tag match. But it's still a rudimentary and basic tag match. It has maybe slightly more emotion and slightly more athleticism. But minutes are used on rest holds. Goldust is worked over for an eternity before a generic hot tag to Cody. Ambrose has to look very stupid waiting for Dusty to smack him around. It's an above average match for sure. But it's not even great. Let alone special or 'one of the best tag matches of all time.' Probably one of the most overrated matches I've reviewed."

[5.0] "A very solid somewhat short tag team match, I really like what they fit in the time they were given. My biggest criticism of this match is that the work on Dusty by Roman and Rollins went on a little too long, but also it did at least manage to build an atmosphere for his comeback. Dustin is a beast, Roman and Cody are pretty solid and Rollins is the worst here but he's at least serviceable enough."

[8.0] "[****1/4] Great in-ring action, hard-hitting strikes every second of this match. Dusty came in and started the ending sequence where every person in the crowd was so hot for this match. Nigh-perfect finish with one of the prettiest Cross-Rhodes I've seen."

[8.0] "One of my favorite match of all these guys careers. I just feel like the follow up after this match was so horrible. I personally believe it should have ended with cody joining the authority to secure his job long term. But i mean the crowd was electric for this match the entire time and that pop when cody won was incredible. Love watching this match love everything about it nothing id change about it except the follow up. 4.25 stars"

[8.0] "This was an awesome match with a great story and awesome action. The Shield were using every heel tactic to get heat and it just made Cody and Goldusts wins even better."

[8.0] "A thrilling tag match accompanied by a fantastic story. It was awesome to see Dusty whooping some ass and it was nice to see that Goldust was just as good as he was back then. Cody and Seth were still the highlights here, their performances were stellar. Just a nice feel good match."

[7.0] "High stakes really make this one, as the shield boys weren't the stars they are now. Cody also had a fantastic performance here (WWE really fumbled here) too. It's a great emotional performance throughout, and the crowd really heats up towards the end. Obviously, Cody and Dustin turned this kind of emotion up to 10 in their Double or Nothing match down the road, but this is a cool footnote in the Rhodes family story. 3.75 Stars."

[9.0] "This was a really good match. This was back and fourth with The Shield as the cheating heels and using unfair advantages and building up the drama. The end with the brothers beating The Shield was a very emotional moment."

[9.0] "I had just started watching wrestling when I saw this one and I had watched a bit of the build on Raw and it was just so emotional. It probably helped I was pretty marky so I was REALLY invested in Cody and Goldust winning their jobs back because I thought they would leave tv if they didn't win lol. But that marky energy really made this a magical moment. It also introduced me to Dusty Rhodes and I'll always be thankful for the small things in modern wrestling that made me become a retro wrestling fan too."

[9.0] "This was a great story that was elevated by a hot crowd and an emotional performance from the Rhodes family. The match had absolutely no business going this hard, but you could tell how important the moment was to both Cody and Dustin. I think originally this match was somewhat lost in a sea of Shield classics, but over time this has become appreciated more from the Rhodes point of view. ****1/2"

[5.0] "A basic, formulaic tag match. Without factoring in the Rhodes family storyline, this was about as average as it gets personally. I didn't find the storyline all that interesting so it didn't really boost the match for me."

[10.0] "What a beautiful way to end this story, an amazing cameo by the "American Dream" Dusty Rhodes, this sits among some of the elite matches Cody, Roman, and Seth have had."

[6.0] "The match was a simple heel v babyface tag that focused on the Rhodes family. The ending sequence was great, but the middle section was full of rest holds. I think the match between these two teams at RAW #1064 just a week later was much better"

[9.0] "This was a great tag match with amazing storytelling and a lot of emotion. The structure is really simple, but it really worked here. Everyone played their roles perfectly. The finish is incredible with Dusty hitting a Bionic Elbow on Dean and Cody hitting an awesome looking Cross Rhodes on Seth. ****1/2"

[10.0] "The crowd really elevates this simple, but effective match; fantastic storytelling and the Dusty/Ambrose moment was great"

[8.0] "The Rhodes brothers weather an earlier storm against the shield, and they head to the outside to regroup. After this we saw a simple yet great match formula: they worked over isolating one Rhodes brother, the other one would get a tag and then they'd start working isolating that one. When they finally let them get an actual hot tag Cody did a great job. The ending was very satisfying, and Cody hit a really good looking Cross Rhodes.****1/4"

[8.0] "This is something I'll always come back to just because it's such a feel-good match. Cody's best match of his first WWE run without a doubt; his ability to connect with a crowd on full display, as is his natural chemistry with Seth Rollins. Goldust and Reigns more than hold their own in-ring too, and the simple, old-school storytelling is incredibly effective. The crowd reaction for Dusty's involvement is amazing, Ambrose plays his role perfectly, and Seth's sell of the final Cross Rhodes is incredible. Great match with a great ending that will never not make me smile."

Everyone involved in this match did their job perfectly and it was such a great moment to see The Rhodes win. One of the best tag team matches in a long time. [****1/2]"

[9.0] "Excellent old school tag match with some incredible storytelling element added. That Dusty spot still gave me chills every time I watched, truly a moment to be remembered. The last few minutes of the bout was absolutely spectacular, and the pops when the Rhodes won was awesome. Arguably one of the best tag matches of the last decade or so. [****1/2]"

Dustin is a great hot tag and FIP so anything he does is magic. The inclusion of Dusty on the outside helped too. Great drama down the stretch. ****"

[9.0] "Damn, this was good, one of the best matches of 2013. The storytelling was perfectly mastered, the match was very good (Goldust showed us that he still got it) and the emotion was present. It was very cool."

[10.0] "The action of this is great but the story, and the felling, man it's over the top, just absolutely amazing. Totally underrated match, you get chills watching it back. When Dusty gets involved, holy smokes! One of the best matches of 2013."

[9.0] "This match told an incredible story. But mainly this was star making match of Cody Rhodes. After he had to go for the WWE Championship instead of the Stardust bullshit. Back to this match. The crowd was hot which makes this match even more better. Good moment with Dusty and Dean. The last bionic elbow on TV. Goldust looked like true veteran against young and ferocious Shield. Cody hit some nice moves like a picture perfect Moonsault or Muscle Buster. Seth Rollins sold the Crossrhodes perfectly. The best match of The Brotherhood. ****1/4"

[7.0] "This match started off really slow. However the ending was great and the crowd was emotionally charged up for this match."

[9.0] "This was such a simple tag match, but sometimes simple works the best. This was great. Goldust once again proved why he is one of the best tag workers of all-time, he was a brilliant FIP, Rollins & Reigns were really good as the heels working on top, Ambrose's performance was solid as well, as his constant trashtalk to Cody & Goldust added to the match. On top of all that, Cody Rhodes gave one of his best performances w/ his babyface fire & good hot tag. ****1/4"

[10.0] "This was the shining moment on a very horrible show. It was the return of Goldust and the redemption of Cody Rhodes with every pinfall causing a gasp from the crowd. Everything was put together perfectly. MOTY candidate imo, it was robbed of the slammy award. ****1/2"

[7.0] "Keen interest in this match can be explained only to that career of Rhodes brothers in WWE depended on its outcome. Opposition as a whole left good, but the Shield constantly dominated, and Rhodes only fine answered. My rating: ***1/4."

[8.0] "The beginning of the match was only ok, but the ending is great. I marked out when Dusty Rhodes attacked Dean Ambrose, and Cody hit his finisher. The whole Rhodes vs The Authority storyline was great and the scenes after the match really felt emotional and genuine. ****"

[9.0] "Awesome. One of those epic matches that will go down in history of modern WWE. The build-up was really great, The Rhodes Dynasty promo before this match added something special to this battle. The match was nice, it was well-paced, it had some exciting confrontations between The Shield and Rhodes Dynasty. The ending was classic, I really enjoyed that celebration with WWE roster. Above all, this was fun to watch, interesting and epic battle."
