[9.0] "I'm not sure having the two ring concept is something they should repeat often but here it worked, and what's more this was a tremendous showcase of how great the roster is right now, very few duds in the mix and all were eliminated quickly. The final stretch between Brody and Darby was wonderful, would love to see them with a full match. Perfect finish, just so good."
[7.0] "Fun match. Multi ring matches always make it difficult production wise but this was better than the World War 3 matches. Action was good and a finish put Brody King over."
[7.0] "That wasn't the smoothest, as always in a battle royal, but they all managed to keep it interesting. Fun sequences all the way as every guy tried to shine the best in such short time. The perfect mix between a Royal Rumble and World War 3. The final stretch was quite awesome, by the way."
[5.0] "Was excited when they announced they were doing the Rumble + WW3 mashup match, but I don't think they made the best use of the premise. Good finish, but a bit rough around the edges. Hope they improve it and stick with it."
[5.0] "While I appreciate trying something a bit different, this was a pretty stupid match concept here. Multi-ring battle royals are very difficult to make work and this was no exception. The finish was fantastic, however, and may very well be the best battle royal finish I have ever seen."
[6.0] "Solides Match.Schönes Konzept mit den beiden Ringen aber auch nicht frei von Schwächen, so hatte ich den Eindruck das gerade in der ersten Hälfte in beiden Ringen nicht sonderlich viel los war, trotzdem hatte das Match auch unterhaltsame Momente. **3/4"
[7.0] "This was a decent spin on the normal battle royal format. Butcher, Blade, King, and Rush all had really good showings and I really liked King as the winner. Him vs Moxley is going to be a great match."
[7.0] "I thought this was a fun battle royal and a good use of the two rings left over from Blood & Guts. Plenty of talent got to be showcased in this match, and I feel Penta Oscuro and Rush were the two MVPs of this match. I'm surprised but not upset with Brody King winning, as his choke on Darby Allin to finish the match was a good spot. 7/10"
[7.0] "I really enjoyed this hybrid version of WWE's Rumble & WCW's World War 3. AEW's uniqueness in this environment is a great aspect to welcome but their presentation and pacing still acts as the major cons of battle royals. The entry of wrestlers were fast paced which reduces the boredom factor very well while the final two were surprisingly underrated picks. I don't get the hate Brody got after winning this. He's a great powerhouse that moves very well and could easily give a great match against Moxley. This match could carve the start of a story between Moxley & Black for the title which excites me. 3.5 out of 5 stars!"
[7.0] "I rather enjoyed the match for four main reasons. For one, there were many individuals who we do not normally see on TV. It was great to see Dustin Rhodes and Frankie Kazarian, for instance. For two, it seemed to make good use of the two rings, like there was a logical reason for their existing. For three, the winner was a surprise. For four, they leveraged teammates working together for as long as possible, whereas the typical trope (as Page and Silver parodied) is teammates turning on each other way too soon. The fact that Butcher and Blade lasted to the end reinforces the idea of strength in numbers."
[4.0] "Painfully boring match almost redeemed by a nice surprise win and a striking, unique way to finish a battle royal. It felt like with the 60 second (and I say that with Dr. Evil air quotes because it really just felt like people were sent out whenever) staggered entrances and also two rings that nothing really had any focus put on it and the wrestlers seemed to know it too. The only other really remarkable things to mention are Ricky Starks playing Shawn Michaels and narrowly avoiding elimination over and over, which was great, and Swerve's slow but inevitable heel turn building by betraying OC. I was expecting Brody King to join the likes of Billy Gunn, Will Hobbs, and Brian Cage in the "beat the dogshit out of Darby Allin for five minutes only for him to active God Mode and defeat you with two moves" group, but like I said, we got a nice little surprise and King vs. Mox should slap, even if King has about a negative infinity percent chance of winning. That sleeper with Allin just going limp and being dropped like a corpse off a bridge was a great visual too. EDIT: Oh and let's not forget Good Old JR with the line of the night, suggesting that the two Mexican wrestlers in the match were holding onto the ropes like they were avoiding prison. Fucking retire."
[6.0] "The type of match turned out to be interesting, although the implementation was very pumped up, sometimes in order to make dynamics it is necessary that nothing happens in the neighboring part or we will miss everything. I laughed when Swerve and Keith Lee were in different rings and looked at each other like that, it's a pity that they didn't beat it in the end. In general, there were a lot of interesting things, but unfortunately we could not implement everything. Rush and Penta had a good fight, I think the confrontation of the Mexicans will be hot. Brody King finally won the most important victory for himself by holding both Darby and Adam Page, which is really commendable, it looks like Mox will not be so easy."
[3.0] "I do not like these AEW battle royals. It is way to apparent who or what should be showcased and everything else is just a free for all improv show. It had some cool spots, like Takeshitas run and Hangman & Silver, but why were Butcher & Blade eliminating stars left right and center? 3/10 breads"
[4.0] "I think Moxley vs Brody King will be good, but these battle royals always feel like such a chore. I get wanting to have a reason for the two rings on your taped show but I wish this had not been staggered and gotten over with faster."
[7.0] "I personally liked it a lot, it was a mess at the beginning with the color theme, but with that double ring I found it interesting, great fight to start Rampage."
[5.0] "I have to say the truth. I was pretty much outside the narration all the time, strange booking and AEW was never on track with these multimen battle royals."
[5.0] "Multi ring battles royal are usually awful, so AEW deserve some credit for making this one at least watchable, but it still had the usual issues of being impossible to follow and of much of the action being pointless. It seems this was a last minute, thrown together match and it showed."
[6.0] "I thought the concept was a neat idea, but the execution (as usual with AEW battle royals) was lacking. Guys were coming in without much fanfare and only some got a few moves in before falling into the battle royal trap of choking and stalling. I have no issue with the eliminations and the winner, though. Would love to see a HoB vs BCC feud coming out of this."
[8.0] "A hybrid of the Royal Rumble and World War 3, I liked the Royal Rampage mainly because of the fast paced entries, so there was rarely any boredom. Some midcard feuds got advanced, there were nice runs mid-match, particularly by Konosuke Takeshita, and Swerve Strickland dumped out another fan favourite in Orange Cassidy. Good call to have Brody King dominate and win, he'll be a good first challenger for Jon Moxley, and will probably build to Malakai Black getting a shot too."
[8.0] "Das Royal Rampage Konzept gefällt mir und kann man gerne beibehalten, oder sogar ausweiten auf mehrere Teilnehmer und ein Special. WCW World War Vibes kamen auf. Das war kurzweilig und gut. Einzige Mankos die Kameraarbeit und dass es manchmal durchgerusht wirkte aufgrund der knappen TV-Zeit."
