Kazuo Yamazaki vs. Kazuyuki Fujita

[6.0] "A quick but surprisingly decent match for what it was worth. Fujita is still green as grass but he's obviously a very competent mat-worker having been trained by two of the pillars of MMA (Inoki/Sayama) and he was obviously seen as a big deal given how far he is on the card with only 6 months of wrestling despite many Young Lions not even showing up on tape with double of that. Yamazaki is also a pretty strong opponent for him and it's obvious that two Sayama trainees would go right into classical 1985 UWF mat-work and then right into strikes. Yamazaki pulls out some dodgy kicks and Fujita predictively just takes them until he catches a roundhouse into a ankle lock. This gives Fujita the avenue to continue the limb work to try to get something out of it, with some good selling by Yamazaki as he struggles to bat away said limb work while keeping himself in the match. It doesn't make much sense that Yamazaki starts hurling out kicks with the shitty leg but I'll blame Sayama for teaching him stuff like that. Despite Fujita's advantage, his opponent is ultimately just way too experienced for him, taking down the guy with some kicks before landing a big German + cross armbreaker for the win. Nothing special and Fujita is quite obviously a guy who's a bit out of his depth, but it's a competently done UWF-style sprat with solid mat work and some nice strikes. Limb selling was iffy in places and it was clear the lads couldn't really have a longer match than this and maintain the quality. That said, a good early Fujita match worth watching if curious."
