[9.0] "The Rock was so godly as a wrestler. He may not have the extensive catalogue that some of his peers have but during his run as a full time guy, he was one of the best wrestlers in the world. Great seller/bump, explosive/crisp, also threw one of the best worked punches. An energetic sprint that helped sell the desperation from The Rock based on how this match started, doing what he needed to do to become number one contender for the Wwf title since The Undertaker also won his number one contendership match. Great tag team work from Edge and Christian doing what they can to play spoiler, with Shane McMahon also there to help stack the deck against The Rock even more. With the crowd cheering him on every step of the way, Rock finds a way to get it done. Lovely tv wrestling, I'd be down for matches like this to happen in wrestling again. ****1/4"

[8.0] "Handicap matches are rarely any good, but this was a big exception mainly because of how well the booking was handled with the heightened drama with the crowd making it a really fun watch. Rock has great chemistry with these two and it goes at a really fast pace where everyone shows a good urgency to win the match quickly for different reasons. There was a ref bump and it looked like Edge and Christian would lose because of a misfire where Edge accidentally hits Christian with a ring bell, and then Shane does an awesome diving chairshot, which was a great near fall and that look of frustration on Shane with the camera shot afterwards was great stuff. Rock eventually wins with the People's Elbow, everyone in the crowd went nuts and the McMahon-Helmsley Regime is falling apart with two #1 contenders, and Edge and Christian wasn't buried because of the ring bell shot playing a huge part in their defeat. Great storytelling all around with this."

Usually i hate when the man that is by himself wins these because it makes the other 2 look like complete jabronis and in a way this still did that but it felt different. Probably mainly because the match was awesome. This is such a good 8 minute ish match and everyone looks great. Shane at ringside does great slimey heelish stuff and this is just a good piece of work and didnt expect it to be as good at all. 3.25 stars"

[7.0] "Was curious when I saw a handicap match with this rating on the guide and yeah, not often they're actually particularly good and interesting like this. Accomplished what it needed to in short order, Rock is absurdly over, and the drama wasn't badly dragged out. Good example of a quick, effective crash TV era match. Also features Shane McMahon doing Shane McMahon things and literally leaping at the ref on his chair shot. (***3/4)"

[8.0] "Just a great combination of a generational babyface fighting back against the best heel tag team in the company. They had the crowd eating out of their hands and while it isn't the best showcase of each individual guy, they advanced the storyline and hit all their beats to move the angle along. Also i didn't know the result of this one going in so once Shane hit Rock with the chair the mark inside me was on the edge of my seat wanting my boy Christian to get a pin over one of the biggest starts of all time!"

The last few minutes had excellent drama with Edge hitting Christian with the ring bell and Rock being able to kick out after a chair shot to the head.***3/4"
