[5.0] "A pretty standard and predictable match between Roman Reigns and Riddle. Yeah it is not bad by any means, but it felt the match has been dragged forcedly this long, doing with Randy Orton's instincts, and I felt bored to watch. I just couldn't get into either Riddle and Roman naturally. [**3/4]"
[8.0] "This was a great TV match. Matt Riddle was super over around this time, and after Randy Orton was out due to injury, he got this match and even used some of Orton's moves. Roman Reigns was great here too, and people hadn't quite gotten sick of him yet as the top champion yet. If these guys had 20-30 minutes on PPV, they would have had one of the biggest matches of the year. As it is, it was a highly entertaining match. ****"
[8.0] "It's strange to look at this match one year after and to be amazed at how over Riddle was at that moment. He clearly steals the show here with his crazy athleticism and his expressions. The end of this match feels abrupt as it could have clearly reach another level. Strange also that we never got that on a PLE. 8/10."
[8.0] "This was a great TV match. The crowd was hot and it was well paced. The RKO out of nowhere was awesome and the finish with Roman catching Riddle mid-air with a spear was really good. ****"
[9.0] "How I wished this had been the Money in the Bank main event, because it was a really great match. Ok, the outcome was obvious, but I'm interested in how you get to that obvious outcome, and if the way you get there is beautiful then I have nothing to complain about, and this was the case: great psychology , great moves, great intensity. Seriously, this deserved to main event Money in the Bank"
[8.0] "Roman is so good at playing the dominant heel at this point, but this wasn't a standout performance for him. Luckily for this match, this was a standout performance for Riddle. All of his offence in this match is crisp, energetic, and received well by a hot crowd. It's an amazing performance and makes him look like a star. The formula here is pretty by the numbers for a Roman Reigns title defence, but Riddle's terrific performance made this a great match. ****1/4."
[8.0] "Pretty exciting match. This is how you conduct a battle that probably doesnt include a new champion, but gives you the opportunity of the what is that thing could happen. Riddle is a great wrestler, both doing and selling moves, and The Tribal Chief was tremendous as always. Good match. [****]"
[6.0] "This was worked at a pretty fast pace and with good energy from both men, but their offence itself was pretty limited. The match also wasn't helped by the fact that it was obvious that Riddle had 0 chance of winning, which made it inherently less interesting. Riddle's strikes were all pretty underwhelming as usual, though his agile attacks were decent. Roman's offence was mostly solid, since his control work was convincing and he usually had decent power behind his bigger attacks. Their chemistry was pretty good, and they worked at a pretty energetic pace, though it's not like they produced anything especially creative or exciting with those 2 things. I liked a few of their sudden counters, but that was really it. Of course they both eventually went overkill with big-moves, finishers, and near falls, with Roman looking absurdly strong for just how much he was able to withstand before quickly firing back and getting the sudden win. Alright TV match. ***"
"roman puts on his working boots here this was his best match for 2022 better than that spectacle with logan paul or that show stopper with brock. his ring psychology and 2.9999999 kickout isthe best im business today"
[9.0] "The energy alone definitely helps this match reach a 9. Riddle is a true star here and he worked the crowd very well. The way he teases Orton's RKO was amazing. Reigns was solid as usual in his title reign. He gave Riddle a fair amount of time to shine without making himself look weak. The near falls were great and the finish was fabulous. This was the most energetic main event I have ever seen on WWE TV in a long time."
[8.0] "I thought this was one of Roman's better title defenses. Usually they are very bloated with a lot of padding - this trimmed all the fat and got straight to the point without ever feeling rote or going in to overkill mode. It felt high impact throughout, and Roman was dominant while still giving Riddle the perfect amount of offence at all the right intervals. Riddle rose to the occasion and added a bit of extra flash and intensity to his usual offence."
[8.0] "Ultimately a very enjoyable match that achieved what it set out to do, essentially demonstrate the dominance and prowess of Roman Reigns but also show Riddle as a brave challenger who definitely is deserving of main event status. While the actual match was bogged down by too many tv breaks at inconvenient moments what we actually got overall was really good."
[7.0] "A solid title defense for Roman though one where his reign was in absolutely no danger. Riddle showed off his incredible athleticism and the mid-air spear was a really good finish."
[4.0] "This was the most generic match you could possibly have between Roman and Riddle. Just close your eyes and imagine what these two wrestling on SmackDown in 2022 would look like and that's the match. Nothing surprised me and everything followed the same old formula. Riddle had no chance of winning, but at least he got in his EPIC MATCH nearfall to pop the crowd. Roman gave his usual performance. Take it or leave it. I'd rather leave it. **"
[8.0] "Riddle did a good job of mixing up his offense with Randy's all match long and even had Reigns on the heel of defeat even though the result was quite predictable. Roman played his role as a heel good here and him doing the Singh bomb on the announce table and talking trash afterwards to Randy was great. That RKO near fall out of nowhere was great, Reigns is so good at kicking out at 2.9. Riddle afterwards would hit a floating bro again and look to hit a RKO but Reigns blocked it so he went for a springboard move and got hit with a spear to put him away. Really good match with a hot crowd.****1/4"
[7.0] "Doesn't go long enough or feature any real interesting spots that would make it a classic, but wow does the energy of the crowd bring this one to a higher level. The one upside of Roman never wrestling is that, when he does, it feels very special, and even though this is a very standard plucky babyface/unstoppable heel bit of work, it feels like a hugely important fight. Too bad Riddle jobbed to Omos just a few days later."
[9.0] "This was very good match and they did a good job cause I was invested the whole match we all new riddle wasn't winning but it would've been cool. ****1/2"
[7.0] "Riddle is the real star of the whole match, no one has such fan support now, he is already a ready-made champion and a big star. Every fight is a big show and the brightest emotions. Roman Reigns, unfortunately for me, has become grayer than asphalt, obviously the break has understated its energy. Let's praise Riddle again for such a cool match and references to Randy Orton!"
[8.0] "One thing I can give credit for Roman Reigns in this entire world title run is how he usually puts over his opponent even if his adversary is in defeat. This was no different here. Riddle did his absolute best and the near pinfalls during this was awesome. I hope to see Roman defend his title more this year than what we are getting so far."
[8.0] "This match had been built up for a while but at no point was there any doubt Reigns wouldn't win. Despite that, they put on a great match and the program likely raised Riddle's stock."
[8.0] "Roman Reigns returned to SmackDown for the first time in a month for his first defense of the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship since winning it at WrestleMania 38. Not only does every contest in which Reigns appears carry that big-fight feel, but there seems to be this need to perform up to the level of the current, full-time competitors he clashes with. We saw it with Riddle here, but his best matches as champion have consistently come against the likes of Seth Rollins, Finn Balor and Jey Uso. He even had a really fun TV match with Montez Ford last September. This was no different. Reigns worked overtime, delivering a really fantastic television main event against a guy in Riddle who, like him or not, has become the workhorse for WWE. This was a coming-of-age performance for The Original Bro and a statement from Reigns to his critics that he can still deliver bangers when the moment calls for it. The match was great, and the return was an emphatic exclamation point on the show. While it is trivial in the grand scheme of things, WWE needed to knock this out of the ballpark to help temper some of the more negative headlines that have dominated its week. It did, and now, there is at least a sense of intrigue surrounding its two summertime premium live events."
[6.0] "Cool match, with a clean finish. Riddle did a great performance as usual, and Roman Reigns did not disappoint too. But, the result was predictable. ***1/4"
[6.0] "This was what every WWE tv-show main event should be at minimum. Nothing spectacular, paused rhythm, counters from both parties and predictable false finishes, but still a good match for tv. It doesn't help that Roman Reigns seems unbeatable. Both worked the crowd really well, although Roman was not in his peak form. He did the minimum but still delivered a nice match. Hope we see more of Riddle in this position."
[8.0] "Really good ME. Riddle proved once and for all that he could be a world champ. As for Reigns; he is still the best current pro wrestler alive IMO."
"[ 9.0 ] the main event was very nice . He looked like million bucks . The crowd , storyline , close kickout , i was on the edge of my seat. It was good but not great. So I'll give it [ ****1/2 ]"
[8.0] "Ive got to give credit where credit is due: this match ruled. The hype before the match was perfect, the energy going INTO the match was great, just wish Reigns was here full-time. Man, what a match though. Riddle brought everything and put everything into this match, definitely my favorite match of his as he tried to win with Randy Orton moves and his own moves. I expected Reigns to show up and not do much, but he showed off and put up a great performance. Load of highlights like the Randy Orton moves being hit, the close pinfalls, and Riddle almost winning with a killer RKO out of nowhere. Reigns also finishes the match off with an awesome finish, Riddle going for a Springboard Moonsault off the middle rope and being hit with a Spear. Definitely watch this match if you havent, it carries this show. Lesnar showing up at the end makes sense to give Reigns an opponent for SummerSlam, a lot of people hate it but Im fine with it. Makes sense? Lesnar is still owed a rematch, just hope they make this one better. [**** 1/4]"
[9.0] "Fantastic match. Great finish and wonderful surprise the return of Brock Lesnar. Very well fought match with excellent wwe work that made us believe Riddle could win. One of the best title defenses for Reigns. Riddle is the future of the federation."
[8.0] "Great match. I loved how Riddle looked great, showing some mixed offense, including Randy's moves. Roman Reigns was as good as usual in terms of character work, and he did a great job overall. Well-paced match, with some nice sequences and exciting kick outs Despite being a predictable match, but I think it needed more selling and psychology."
[9.0] "Great title match that should have been on MITB. Roman had some great moments and false finishes, like the kickout after Riddles RKO. While Riddle was able to come into this match and show off his skillset while also integrating Randys moveset to his advantage."
[9.0] "Fantastic title match between Reigns and Riddle which was everything I hoped it would be, I already knew what kind of dynamic to expect with two wrestlers like them and I wasn't disappointed at all by the superb main event they put on. I unfortunately feel like no one will talk about this match because of Brock Lesnar's unnecessary return right afterwards, but it shouldn't be written off because it was an absolute banger. Just from the entrances, the time given, the hot crowd, it was really sold to us as a big fight and I love that kind of feeling when I watch wrestling. And I don't know about you, but with everything that's going on in this company right now, I really believed that the upset was possible for Riddle, that it wasn't impossible for them to give him the titles to mark a new era on a positive note. I'm glad it didn't happen because ending Reigns' legendary reign on SmackDown like that after a not-so-well-constructed rivalry would have bothered me greatly. But I'm glad Riddle got that golden opportunity, it was a great match with a lot of nearfalls and good sequences."
[8.0] "That was a very good ME. Riddle showed the heart of a warrior and Reigns - as always - doesn't go below a certain level. The finishing stretch with Roman catching Riddle with Spear in mid-air was also cool to see. Looking forward to Brock challenging Reigns in a LMS Match and I hope their match will be interrupted by MITB cash-in. Who knows, maybe it'll be WrestleMania 31 all over again?"
"Really good main Event. I think Roman reigns is a little overweight And it must quickly return to its good form. Riddle acted well as a serious challenger who wants to take the belt and played his role well. 8/10"
[9.0] "I was fully invested in this match and it really worked on me.Great chemistry between Reigsn and Riddle and they told the perfect story. Some nice close kick out from Roman making me believe Riddle could do it. Maybe not quit a 9 in my ratings but deserved better than an 8."
[8.0] "I had a feeling that this would be a good one, and it did not disappoint. You could kind of tell, based on the entrances & the time left in the show when the match started. The Final Boss, Roman Reigns, winning is the expected outcome. But what about AFTER the match. it's a first time ever match, Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar, I swear to God that we have never seen that match before, and to make it even better, it's a First Man To His Feet match. Sheer Genius, I tell you. Brilliant!"
[8.0] "It's very interesting how Riddle has evolved more and more. Roman Reigns needs to defend his belt more, his reign is getting a little boring. A good fight, with an interesting ending. ****1/4"
[8.0] "This was a good match. Riddle's selling and comebacks were fantastic, and Reigns is great at telling stories. Some great false finishes, cool spots, and a great finish. Really good match. [****]"
[7.0] "In entertainment quality it was remarkable, but if we talk about chemistry or technique, I think Riddle gives more than Roman Reigns in a whole match, however, the strength of the script does what it has to do, but well, it was a good opportunity for Riddle even if it was predictable from the beginning."
