[7.0] "A good main event. Minoru Suzuki's interactions with Akiyama and Doering were pretty cool, and it was great to see him back in the ring in Japan. It's a shame there were a few lulls, because otherwise I really enjoyed the moments when they were hitting each other hard."
[6.0] "It was nice to see Doering in a japanese ring again and there was alot of lovely action in this. Unfortunately, what ultimately brings this down for me is the fact that the majority of the match was spent on the least interesting combo of the entire match imo, Jake Lee/Kento Miyahara. I understand they are the younger guys of the bout, and the ones in a current feud at the time, but we see them against another all the time. I feel tribute matches like these should focus slightly more on fresh new combos, and it was heartbreaking that we didn't get to see more Doering/Suzuki because their exchanges were fucking rad. But going back to the original point, Kento is a great chickenshit babyface and just a wily character at times. Jake Lee on the other hand, great in the ring, but what is with the constant maniacal laughing? Brought the match down every time."
[7.0] "This match had some unique/unusual interactions and sequences, and while they were interesting and at times exciting, there was a good amount of filler on top of Jake Lee being boring. It was fun to see Doering back in Japan."
[8.0] "This main event was a worthy tribute to Jumbo Tsuruta. It was not a Match of the Year Contender, but it was great, especially for a match in which half the participants are in their 50s. They kept a brisk pace and the match was filled with hard-hitting strikes and suplexes."
