[5.0] "There are some interesting moments of creativity and I think their styles complement each other well. Some of the moves looked a bit rough and sloppy, and Ronda continues to struggle with making her strikes look like they connect at all. I think the pairing has potential though and that they could have a pretty good match together if they were to get more experience wrestling each other."
[6.0] "A good start to Ronda's championship path and an interesting test for her with a new opponent of large dimensions. Raquel Rodriguez was able to take advantage of a great chance and she did not fall face down in the dirt, such a defeat gives a lot of excuses and does not demotivate so much. The girls did their best in the allotted time and there was something to see. I wanted a little longer and more emotional, but what came out came out."
[8.0] "I really thought Raquel was going to be squashed here, but I was pleasantly surprised. Raquel looked strong and looked like a believable contender (I'm sure there will be a rematch). Ronda has become great in the ring too."
[7.0] "Really between a 6 and a 7 on this, but I'll bump it up to 7 just because it was interesting to see a match of a different style on a WWE show. It had a very physical look, more like a fight than a match in some spots. The rough spots actually lended to this in a way, giving it a realistic edge. Rousey made Rodriguez look like a million bucks, and I think the latter is more on people's radar now than she was going in, so there's that at least. Overall solid and watchable, if unspectacular."
[7.0] "I enjoyed this more than I was expecting to. Raquel looked awesome and a lot of that has to go to Rousey for her really good selling. I also liked how late she kicked out of all of Raquel's big moves late in the match. When Rousey was on offense this was a bit rough, but otherwise it was fairly solid and put Raquel over strong despite her flukey loss. [***1/4]"
[8.0] "A powerful pleasure of a match between a MMA stalwart & a high potential powerhouse. When Raquel stepped out as the answer of Ronda's open challenge, colour me intrigued as I thought this would be a strong power fight on paper but little did I knew that it could be the same by paper but done in a shocking time of almost six minutes. This was one of the rarest occasions where I saw Ronda being outnumbered by someone who's as fierce as her. Raquel had some bright spots where she could bring the ultimate upset but Ronda dusted those thoughts off and won the fight thereby protecting Raquel for bigger things as well as having Ronda's start as the champ in an awesome way. 3.75 out of 5 stars!"
[8.0] "Damn solid match between Raquel and Ronda which was completely different from the usual generic WWE TV matches which usually have a pretty similar formula, here it was just six minutes of a real fight between two badass and credible wrestlers who just want to beat the shit out of each other to walk away from this show with the title, which is something we should be seeing a bit more of in wrestling right now instead of seeing spotfests every week. But that's just my opinion, I really enjoyed the action that Ronda and Raquel put on here, the internet can rage all they want but it doesn't change the fact that they are two great wrestlers. Raquel is really a big deal and it shows, no one has ever dominated Ronda in a singles match as much as Raquel here and this is the best example of looking good in the defeat, she has a promising future. Ronda is off to a great start in her reign, now I want a much longer rematch."
[8.0] "I wouldn't have had Raquel Rodriguez lose this early in her main roster run, and certainly not in six minutes, but there's nobody else (Bayley isn't returning in a B town), and at least she dominated the match until Rousey caught her off guard. This was really good though, and had a different flow to most WWE TV matches."
[6.0] "Nice match. Raquel was relevant and almost dominated Ronda, but Ronda technical abilities were far superior, so the match has an interesting dynamic. It was too short, tho. The finish is logical considering the abilities and the background of Ronda. But, I would have prefered a decisive finish, because it's Ronda Rousey."
[7.0] "I'll give this score for Ronda's segment, she said she was going to fight for the championship in an open challenge, the opponent wasn't great either but they put on a pretty good bout."
