The Samons booking was meticulous leading up to this match. The destroyed jobbers. Then they destroyed Denucci and several jobbers, even when Denucci brough a hammer into the ring. Then they handled Denucci and Goulet. Finally they defeated Goulet and Santana to earn their title shot. Putski was really the first wrestler to "hurt" the Samoans and this was the first match the Samoans had a chance to lose. Putski's power and Santana's speed had them off balance. The finish was awful however. Santana climbs to the top of the turnbuckle but can't get his balance. Finally, the prone Afa stands up and Tito hits a cross body. Somehow, Afa comes out of it much better than Tito. Queue the Samoan drop for the win."

We got a pier-sixer to start before things settled down to Putski and Santana double-teaming and outclassing the Samoans. Putski took a short but fine FIP segment for his team. Tito got the hot tag, and he's a house of fire! He hit a crossbody that seems to injure his own leg, allowing Sika to finish him off with the Samoan Drop for the title, the first of the three WWF tag titles for the Samoans. [***]"
