[6.0] "This match takes a long time to get going, but once it gets there, it's a pretty fun little spot fest with some genuinely hard-hitting, bone-jarring moments. As you'd expect, both wrestlers get plenty of opportunities to showcase their aerial capabilities and we get the added fun of seeing RVD hilariously over-sell everything, too. Ultimately it's a match that drags on for far too long, but the positives mostly outweigh the negatives here. By the way, the final stretch includes cameos from Sabu and The Sandman, whatever that's worth to you. And yeah, that roll-up finish is LAME as hell, no denying that."
[8.0] "This match was not without flaws but I think it is rather underrated. The biggest surprise for me was the shockingly hostile crowd, they turned on this quickly when the start of the match was not fast paced and it seemed to throw everything off a bit. I will grant the match could have been shortened a bit but I still think this was quite impressive, 2 Cold was able to show a lot of what make him special and RVD was well equipped to answer in kind. Ultimately it's not about the number of moves you do or don't do, it's the feeling of the match for me, and this felt very much like a gritty struggle. And say what you will for the interference, but when Sandman showed up looking for revenge on Sabu and RVD, the crowd popped big time so clearly something was working there."
[3.0] "Again, they do all these fancy moves just to end it with the Bodyscissors... Flips, all different kinds of splashes, two Piledrivers on the ramp (! ) and none of it was enough. I hoped that Scorpio would use his experience from serious promotions, but no, he had to lower himself to this indie type of a match."
[7.0] "Well-matched contest in terms of talent, but it kind-of went through phases of being really good, to slow, boring & messy towards the end. I think probably Scorp had a little too much on RVD, but that made the run-in by Sabu fit obviously. Crowd as usual weren't particularly interested and were chanting for The Sandman. Well they got their wish in the end, even if he didn't do much."
[6.0] "A good match between two great talents, but WAY too long for a match that really didn't have much of a story besides being a make-good for not having Sabu vs. Sandman."
[5.0] "Too slow, too long, and with a way overbooked finish, this had pretty much all the problems that too many matches had in this era of ECW. It wasn't awful, and both guys did what they were supposed to, but it wasn't particularly interesting."
