[5.0] "I might be different, because my ratings usually are in-ring oriented. And seeing as the 2nd and 3rd fall here were both outside the ring brawls ending in DQ's, that portion of the match sadly didn't raise my rating up. I did however enjoy seeing the DQ brawls, but it doesn't add up to my star rating. **1/2"

[8.0] "What a great way to set up Yoshiaki Yatsu and Abdullah the Butcher. This felt like a tone setter to let everyone know that Abdullah is bringing his dangerous chaos to NJPW, but Yatsu gets put over as a big future star quickly by teaming with Inoki right away."
[8.0] "The first fall was a good un and is easily the longest fall of the bout. It's a masterclass in establishing an incredible force with Abbie and Hansen destroying Yatsu in a brutal yet methodical way, taking turns to punish the young prospect, who is making his debut alongside Abdullah The Butcher. Abdullah has his working boots on as well, tying up with Inoki and working body parts with his massive head. Yatsu gets bloody and eventually falls to a western lariat. The 2nd fall is short but only because Hansen and Abdullah decide to rough house Yatsu some more on the outsidecounted and get either out or DQ'd to tie up the match. And there is hardly a 3rd fall as Inoki snaps, attacks the ref who let the match fall apart and got DQ'd giving the match to the baddies. Chaos ensues from there with a glass bottle, more blood, brawling, young boys flying. Classic New Japan with two mega monster heels doing what they do best. ****"
[7.0] "Abdullah the Butcher and Yoshiaki Yatsu's debuts for New Japan was supposed to be a best two out of three falls match but it's more like a one fall match followed by an angle. That first fall is short but pretty good. Yatsu looks very good on his first test but inevitably gets overwhelmed by Butcher and Hansen. The angle afterwards is chaotic and makes Hansen and Abby look like the most dangerous duo in the world, which isn't hard to believe anyway. Abdullah breaking a glass bottle and going for Inoki as Hansen is holding his arms open was the highlight for me."
[7.0] "Interesting match, awesome angle. This is Yoshiaki Yatsu's Japanese debut and Abdullah the Butcher's New Japan debut after jumping ship. Yatsu would have competed in the 1980 Moscow Olympics as a freestyle wrestler had Japan not boycotted them and his switch to pro-wrestling was big news, but in New Japan terms he's still a rookie. Inoki just about KOs Yatsu with one of his trademark slaps to start, and then poor Yatsu gets the beating of a lifetime from two of the stiffest most violent wrestlers you could ever throw a rookie to. Yatsu doesn't stand a chance and it's brutal to watch. This has tons of heat. Eventually the match descends into total chaos, peaking with Butcher breaking a bottle on the ring post and attacking Inoki with it. A great, memorable way to introduce two new faces to the promotion and continue the Inoki-Hansen rivalry."
