This wasn't creative by any stretch and very on brand for both of them. Although, to be fair both Bailey and Suzuki were coming off a hectic weekend with loads of matches which I'm sure were just like this one. I don't get these "they beat the shit out of each other" comments cause most of it was extremely one sided with Suzuki dishing out his elbows only for Bailey to not even sell them properly. Bailey's kicks were decent but we barely got to see them. This was a 16 minute long match that felt like it was 30 since they took forever to come back inside the ring. Had they just stick to a "you hit me I hit you" generic match, it would still be better than what we got. |

Bailey's kicks and agile attacks all looked good, as did Suzuki's stiff strikes and few submissions, but the generic structure of both men simply trading impactful strikes and signature spots back and forth was very bland. You've seen Suzuki give this exact performance in every US match he's had over the last year, and the same goes for Bailey, so this match didn't provide anything meaningful. Close your eyes, imagine what a match between these 2 would be like, and that's as good an experience as watching the match itself. **3/4 |

I didn't think it was going to be this great despite being two incredible performers simply because the fans here didn't seem to enjoy it very much and also because I didn't really hear about it on Twitter, luckily I decided to watch it and I have to say it's an extremely underrated bout. It was exactly what I expected to see with these two, high-quality action from the first minute to the last with some dope sequences. Seeing Suzuki no sell Bailey's kicks was an insane moment, I can understand if some people are tired of Suzuki's usual formula but in these kind of matches I feel obliged to enjoy it as it's so well done. This match totally delivered for me, terrific stuff. |
