[6.0] "big contrast to the first match on the show, but seeing that it was a tornado tag I knew what was coming. The whole thing was a sort of car crash match with big spots and ect. for what it was it was entertaining but AEW does a lot of these matches so it can get tiring"
[9.0] "I will state my bias up front: Sting and Jeff Hardy are childhood favourites of mine that are my Mount Rushmore of wrestling, and The Hardy Boyz are my favourite tag team. So, I was always going to adore this match. With the goodwill they have earned over the years and the fan following they have amassed, they could easily phone it in just doing mostly taunts and finishers, but they didnt. Sting did a dive off the top rope to the floor & a Stinger splash into the guardrails on Kassidy, Matt Hardy taking the side effect bump from his proteges Private Party that flashed back to his feud with Edge, and Jeff Hardy with a Swanton dive from above the ladder and off the building onto Butcher and The Blade harkening back to his feud with Abyss from TNA. It wasnt just legends proving they were still willing to put it all on the line, you had Darby who is still carving out his legacy kicking off the match with his trademark suicide dive (the best one in the business) and taking a nasty bump down the stairwell from The Butcher. In between all these big moments, and this match was a moment-making machine, the sprawling brawling through various locations gave the show a nice variety feel, and the energy it elicited from the crowd was reminiscent of the Monday Night Wars. The ending sequence was very creative and exciting, even with it seemingly not going according to plan on Stings end. That struggle into the Scorpion Death Drop still worked for me, firing in sync with the Twist of Fate at the end."
[6.0] "Fun but too chaotic eight-man tag team match here that will certainly appeal to a lot of people because that's all they're looking for when they watch sports entertainment but I personally found it a bit of a mess, and completely forgettable if you take away the insane Jeff Hardy spot. An unnecessary spot that he shouldn't be doing anymore considering how much his health is deteriorating due to his drug problems but it was there, he surely insisted on doing it and it gave us an extremely memorable moment as he knows how to do since he based his entire career on great moments like this. His Swanton was great and the crowd totally exploded for it but that's all there's to this match, the rest is not interesting and the production was bad, they didn't know where to film so many guys were fighting everywhere. The ending was embarrassing on top of that, it seriously hurts to see Sting like that."
[1.0] "I don't like these kinds of tag team matches with no tags but this is one of the worst I have ever seen. I see matches like this and people wonder why Jeff Hardy is still in the same place he's been. This is chaos and nonsense for nothing, very little reason to care for anyone other than nostalgia. If this was against people who actually drew money and not jobbers it would be more acceptable."
[8.0] "This 8-man (really more like 5 on 4) Tornado tag was a really fun way to follow a technical class from Punk/Dax. Surreal to see the Hardys team with Darby & Sting. Such a wild crossover of eras. Match wasn't really as messy as some say on here, everyone had their roles. Sting (his 63rd bday was four days ago) hit a big splash from the turnbuckle to the outside on Blade & Private Party. Matt/Private Party held it down doing work around the ring and stage for the main arena crowd, while Darby, Sting and Jeff took on Butcher, Blade and Andrade on the stairs and concession areas. Butcher getting heat on Darby doesn't get old, and Darby is really good at falling down stairs. Jeff hits one his craziest spots in years off a windowsill from like 15 ft above onto Butcher & Blade, which Darby & Sting helped set up. Seeing it in person was incredible. ***7/8"
[7.0] "That was so fun. The spotfest AEW's giving us time to time. You got these mad motherfuckers Darby, Sting and Hardys against a credible team. Private Party, Butcher & Blade took their big bumps. That was a blast."
[7.0] "This was a fun brawl that featured the crazy moments that you would expect considering some of the participants. Jeff's dive onto Butcher and Blade was awesome and I liked the moment where Butcher tossed Darby down the stairs."
[7.0] "A crazy jump from Jeff Hardy, here he shows his hardcore nature right off the bat - it's cool. Darby Allin flew down the stairs very hard, the moment will be remembered for a long time. Sting did not cope with the trick a bit, but it seemed to steer the situation in the right direction. As a result, it turned out to be fast and fun, I was satisfied."
[10.0] "This was basically just a wild brawl involving tons of people that was a lot of fun. The highlights were Butcher Andy Williams literally throwing Darby Allin down the stairs in a way that would make Zach Gowen flinch, and Jeff Hardy jumping off a literal ledge on the wall to knock some folks through a table. Just some crazy brawling and big spots, even some blood, just the way I like it."
[6.0] "A chaotic mess but extremely fun, the highlight of which was Darby being swung into the guard rails before being thrown down the stairs. The finish was very clearly botched and looked awful, that definitely took away from the match, which is a shame but I still enjoyed it overall. Really looking forward to the match between Andrade and Darby."
[8.0] "JESUS CHRIST. Jeff just stepped through the door two weeks ago in AEW and just started doing HUGE spots. Like THAT SWANTON. Holy moly. Yeah, there was a botch with Sting trying desperately to do a Scorpion Death Drop but great match."
[8.0] "This match was a lot of fun, and I say that as someone who feels AEW does these types of matches way too often. But they really delivered and Jeff Hardy did something stupid off a high place so what more can you ask for?"
[10.0] "Was there at the show, this was match of the night for me. Jeff jumping off the balcony and through a table was awesome, Matt taking a bump from the stage was insane, and Sting jumping off the top rope was so cool."
[6.0] "This was a fun match, and although I like spots, this was too much of a spot fest for me, and seemed like it was just there for a Jeff Hardy ladder spot, and for sting to look cool in the ring. There match at Revolution was much better and it was so soon this felt forced. ***"
[9.0] "A tornado tag match on texas is great booking for the local crowd darby allin dive to.steps look brutal and jeff hardy did his best spot in years"
[6.0] "Car-Crash match with some big spots included. Overall just a lot of chaos involved in this one, seeing Jeff Hardy jumping off of tall things is always fun to see.***1/4"
[2.0] "A majority of matches a 63-year-old Sting has featured in during his career so far in AEW have been dangerous Tornado Tags. Tony Khan has an obsession with these style of matches, and they're becoming monotonous to watch which is surprising given how chaotic they all are. It's perplexing why they can't just book him in normal 8-Man-Tags."
[7.0] "The eight wrestlers did exactly what is expected of them in a match of this kind. It was maybe a bit too chaotic for my taste and the end didn't go as smoothly as probably planned, but I will always reward spots like Jeff Hardy's dive from the wall. On a side note, I would like to see Private Party or The Butcher and The Blade win sometimes."
[8.0] "This was an awesome plunder brawl, perfectly done. Sickening Jeff Hardy and Darby bumps. Private Party are so so good at getting beat up and Sting still doing what he did here (despite the botch at the end) at 63 years old is amazing. Great stuff. ***3/4"
[6.0] "Another wild car crash style match in this feud. This was an enjoyable TV match that didn't overstay its welcome and mostly played to the strengths of everyone involved. I would have liked to see the heels finally get a win in this one since it's such a lopsided feud, but the match was fine."
[7.0] "Jeff Hardy is really impressive, the first match in aew, he did so well! now he is much better than wwe version Jeff Hardy.Other people did a good job"
[8.0] "The Darby Allin spot on the stairs and the swanton bomb were crazy, the right team also won. I like these tornado tag team matches to happen occasionally but 4 vs 4 is just too much, 3 vs 3 should be Aew's limit for these matches."
[4.0] "I? m not a fan of these tornado tags on TV. They are too chaotic to follow for my liking. There are some nice spots in this one, but as soon as it? s done it? s on to the next one with no breathing room. You think they wouldn? t do another one of these so soon after revolution too. Just watch that match from revolution unless you are desperate to see Jeff Hardy,"
[7.0] "Wildes Tornado 8-Man Tag Team Match, welches einige gute Spots aufbietet. Es lief nicht alles rund im Match, aber darüber kann ich wegsehen wenn das Gesamtpaket Spaß macht und das tat es hier."
[4.0] "Pretty short and cluttered 8 man tornado match. Great bumping from Darby as always. Huge spot from Jeff Hardy that looked like it probably hurt. Ending sequence was awful and Sting/Private Party combined for maybe the worst move of all time. Cool ending with Sting and Matt Hardy hitting similar finishers on PP."
[4.0] "So many mistakes. Sting is crazy but he's still a certain age, he needs to fight less. He ruined several possible good moves. Too bad, could have been a great match."
[7.0] "Unexpectedly good. Of course the match lacks logic but I was entertained by it and that's the main thing for this type of match. Very hard Allin's bump on the stairs. Sting is also inimitable."
[4.0] "Two big spots, quite a bit of sloppy move execution, barely psychology or a real match story. This was still entertaining and a somewhat fun match, but technically not really good. 4/10 breads"
[5.0] "Way too messy, too much going on, and some absolutely ridiculous stunts made this mediocre. Not to mention Sting's first misstep in AEW, which was really rough. The camera work was awful too. A regular tag match would have been better. [**1/4]"
