The match was decent for the time given, The focus was on Kai and Choo learning to work as a team. They did quite well for a first outing. Dakota rallying the crowd behind her before she went to hit the Kaio-Kick was a long missed sight. Obviously, Dakota is still trying to fight off her mental demons and embrace her role as a face again. But this was some nice character development. It's clear from the post show digital exclusive with Kai and Choo that Kai wants this partnership to work but fears success could lead to her feeding into her bad knack for betrayal. It will be a mountain for her to climb, which will see her again face arch enemy Raquel Gonzalez in the next round. As a Dakota Kai fan I can understand why many are frustrated with her current role and unstable character, however I keep hope it will lead to bigger things for her. For now I'm liking the building of her relationship with Wendy (the underappreciated Karen Q) and Dakota trying to embrace her better side again. |
