Mariko Yoshida vs. Michiko Omukai

[5.0] "It's short but sweet, I like that alot of this tournament matches from Arison didn't stretch out too long and as a result there's alot of good stuff packed in there. It still does come with the downside of feeling like the match could have a little more like here. I liked that Omukai really didn't like Yoshida but with some more minutes maybe that could have been expanded upon a bit more. It's not the biggest deal and the match is solid for what it is."

[8.0] "Omukai's first kick of the match being caught into a kneebar was the perfect way of showing these two's game plan. Yoshida is the perfect grappler looking for ways to avoid Omukai's strikes and Omukai is the rough and rugged striker who only needs a few kicks to end it. Mariko dominates most of this and avoids almost all of the big kicks aside from a spinning back kick that Omukai won her first round match with but aside from that, there's not much hope. She does get the nearest of nearfalls on a tiger suplex but the springboard wheel kick is avoided and Mariko puts on a masterclass of a ground game which results in the submission win - ****"

[7.0] "Awesome match and my favourite Omukai performance so far! Great display of both joshis personalities with a battle of Michiko striving for victory and Mariko enduring and aiming for perfect timing to catch her opponent in submission. Extremely good drama with crowd playing major role. A distinctive battle of Egoist's stiff kicks against True Heart's deadly submissions. I wish it would last longer, but that's the nature of the beast. ***3/4"
