Kurt Angle vs. Steve Austin

[9.0] "Another very fun match between these two. Extremely convinced Angle had his career in reverse, was at this best in the early years and it showed here. Austin was sublime in '01, perfect last full year in terms of performance if not in terms of booking."

[5.0] "[2.5*] Another overrated stone cold/Kurt angel match. Don't get me wrong ; I really think they've got an interesting chemistry and dynamic but the matches felt flat because of the booking/ writing process. And you can't fully blame them cuz I feel like they've tried to get something and they absolutely didn't fail. But it's still feeling flat."

[9.0] "If you ever wanted to watch Angle, Austin and The Rock in a Triple Threat match, this match is kind of an unofficial version of it as The Rock is heavily involved in this match and it's a fun way to utilise the No DQ rules. They do a good job building up Kurt's motivations for requesting this match as well with Regal granting him a shot at the title should he take Austin out of the picture. The whole match is basically a big brawl with Angle showing he could go just as well in this kind of match as he would in a normal match as he gets some great shots in where he hits Austin with the ring bell and Rock throws Angle in the ring so he can try and win off that. Rock gets heavily involved in this where he brawls with Angle and Austin sees it coming when Rock is gunning for him with the Rock Bottom and gives him a stunner. It's just a balls to the wall chaotic match and even if it isn't the cleanest match Austin and Angle ever had, the storytelling going on was fantastic and just added so much to the match in my opinion."

[7.0] "The match itself was good but the focus was obviously put on rock and Austin going into mania 17. As for the match it was fun these two always had great chemistry 3.5/5 good tv main event"

[7.0] "Meh it was okay. It was a typical attitude era brawl where you already knew the outcome. The Rock was interesting and the build up to Mania 17 continues which is probably the most unique and most exciting part of this match and the only interesting thing about it. Great story behind the match. The My Way video moment that is the ending of this match is great. I could literally hear My Way in my head. Good match."

[8.0] "It wasn't a technical masterclass but it was supreme storytelling. Kinda though Angle would get Austin to tap since there was interference from the Rock but Austin gets the fall. There's legit heat between all 3 wrestlers so i'm not sure if the WM main event will change to a triple threat or not."

[9.0] "I thought this was really fantastic. A pure angle-based match and essentially a triple threat due to the constant interference from Rock. The crowd reactions for the interactions between Rock and Austin are insane."

[8.0] "Stone Cold in this sets the tone earlier on with how vicious he was to Kurt showing him no remorse because of what he had done to Debra on Raw this week. They brawl all over the place in this until Rock gets involved in this for the finish.****"

[8.0] "This is fantastic and everything it needed to be. Austin looks like a murderous psycho coming to the ring and beating the hell out of Angle in revenge for Angle putting Debra in the Ankle Lock on Raw. All hell breaks loose as they brawl around the place and the Rock gets dragged in and we get the big finish with all 3 of them throwing hits at each other. Great way to spend 10 minutes. ****"
