[7.0] "Unagi far surpassed my expectations with this match, I didn't really buy her as a legit challenger for Saya but by the end I actually thought that she had a better showing here than Saya herself, its not like Unagi convinced me otherwise, she didn't, but she showed some great fire towards the end of the match. There were some things in the beginning of the match which weren't as smooth as they could've been, but that's alright. Saya was okay in this match, it's crazy that she got overshadowed by Unagi, as I said already, but I'm not as high on her as I was when I first watched her, I just feel that lot of her performances can be rather generic and to an extend even lame. It wasn't much better here, but she still played her part in making Unagi look pretty good. In general, I thought that this match really revolved around Unagi, this was a very important step for her."
"This was... actually a good showing from Unagi, wasnt really motivated to watch this one because of the low rating but i ended up having a good time, was really surprised with the lack of comedy from Unagi in this one, maybe she didnt figure out her style by that time, but serious Unagi was kinda interesting, a good first defence from Saya!"
[8.0] "Sehr gutes Match.Das war ein Match was sich immer weiter gesteigert hat, tolle Spots, knappe Nearfalls und generell eine tolle Schlussphase.Unagis wohl bisher bestes Match. ***3/4"
[7.0] "This was pretty cool. Unagi has been kinda abusing that sister abigail type DDT of hers even if it looks cool, and after the first few exchanges that Kamitani dominating stretch was pretty boring, but besides that this was a really cool match with some really nice spots, like Unagi reverting the suplex into a DDT on the outside. Some good back and forth action, but the result was never in doubt."
[7.0] "Solid first defence for Saya. However, with how many times we have seen this pairing, I don't think that they have good chemistry with each other. Also, the second part of this match was better from first one. Aside from that, it was entertaining."
[8.0] "Finally, it looks like more people are starting to see Unagi's improvements. I am glad but she has been awesome for a quite a while now! Great match that really picked up towards the end. The back and forth between Kamitani's Star Crusher and Unagi's Taigi De Atta attempts was amazing!"
[6.0] "I liked the pace these two set for themselves; not-ever slow as neither is physical-enough to be compelling bruisers (that throwdown early was sad, ) yet not-too fast either so that their (really Unagi) less than first-rate techniques expose themselves as shoddy & as new-to-the-business as they actually are. Did Saya intend tonight's Phoenix to land w/ a double knee as that looked awful-to-take'. 3 1/4 - 3/10 rounded-down as 7.65 is too-high for the execution I witnessed, but admittedly this was better than I thought it would be."
[8.0] "Saya Kamitani overcame a difficult test, I was already afraid that she would lose. She secures the status of the heroine-fighter in this company. Unagi Sayaka brought the match to a great level! There are jumps and crazy throws. Everything is as I like it."
[8.0] "I was skeptical of this match like many but Unagi really impressed me here and Saya definitely showed she's ready to defend the belt against anyone. I really loved the reversals and the intensity of the match. It's definitely the best match of Unagi's career so far and I look forward to seeing her progress, the same goes for Saya's reign."
[7.0] "I don't like Unagi as much as Mina, but this is definitely her best match. Saya Kamitani is absolutely fantastic, and she is so crisp. Knows exactly what she is doing. ***1/2"
[9.0] "Saya Kamitani has become one of the most complete workers in the world. She is crisp, she is insanely athletic, she is strong as hell, and she understands pacing and timing more than most high caliber wrestlers. All of these attributes showed in this match. Unagi, meanwhile, put on the best individual performance of her career. I have never seen a wrestler transition from being a sub-par worker to a really good one in such a short amount of time. The series of sequences these two came up with leading to the finish were nothing short of magical. ****1/4"
[8.0] "A great first defense for Kamitani, who showed that she could lead a championship match. They mostly stuck to what they know and there wasn't much in the way of innovation or cleverness. Still, they both performed well and showed emotion, and there were timely counters and near-falls. ****"
[3.0] "This match was all over the place. It felt very unstructured and it felt more like Saya and Unagi were out there trying to do cool moves and spots, just for the sake of doing them. This match went nearly 20 minutes, and trust me, you felt every single minute. It went far too long, which has become a reoccurring problem with the Wonder of Stardom title defenses."
[9.0] "Kamitani was in control for a long part, but got a bit overconfident letting Unagi get back in the match after a Cross Driver from the ring apron to the outside. It got a bit more back and forth as they counter eachothers moves a lot from there. They made some nice false finish as both was close to win several. Kamitani's Pheonix Splash leg first to end the match looked brutal. Even if it started slow, i loved both showing a lot of resilience and the match as a whole."
[7.0] "***3/4 It took very long for the match to pick up. However, suddenly near the end, everything started to click and we got fast paced action with consecutive big moves and near falls. Could be better, but the final act makes up for it."
[8.0] "I KNEW THIS TWO WERE GOING TO HAVE ONE HELL OF A MATCH! Jesus Christ, this ruled so fucking hard, man! Every spot had a great timing, selling and was very well built. The final sprint was so fucking absurdly good that I couldn't stop marking out, and that Phoenix Splash looked fucking brutal, man. The building to this match was great and the wait was so fucking worth. Really great stuff here. ****1/2"
[9.0] "In my opinion a fantastic match that lived by his fast paced style after a few minutes and those great nearfalls. I loved everything about it (**** 1/2)"
[6.0] "This match was certainly something. There was no chance that Unagi was winning this, but I was still intrigued by how this match would go. Unagi has stepped up and improved a lot in the past six months, but her title matches have left something to be desired each time. I kind of liked the first half, even if some of the spots were a bit out there, and it was disjointed at times. The apron bump made me wince a bit and the DDT on the floor was interesting I guess. The second half had its moments but it started to feel never-ending down the stretch, and the schoolboy suplex was...something. The final minutes were crazy though, almost making the runtime feel kind of worth it, but that ending' That was rough a rough ending in my opinion. I wanted to like this more than I did, and if the had shaved off at least 5 minutes, everyone would have benefited. ***1/4"
[8.0] "Biggest suprise of the night for me in terms of match quality without a doubt. They've had some matches against each other before and they weren't bad, they were just very average and passable. Here, after a shaky first 5-7 minutes they finally got it right with each other and the rest of the match was great. Saya's slightly botched Phoenix Splash looked even more brutal since it turned into a Phoenix Knee Drop basically. This is Unagi's best singles match I've seen, she also deserves some praise for her improvement. I want to go 4 stars on this but as I mentioned, those first few minutes take this down just a notch. Still very very good. ***3/4"
