[6.0] "This wasn't terrible like most of Jade's matches, but most of it was due to Anna Jay carrying the match on her back. I'm not even a Jade hater. I ant her to succeed, but I just don't feel like she's catching on, even to this day."
[6.0] "A pretty decent match between both women, they actually did well in the match despite their inexperience, nice first defence for Jade as AEW TBS Champion and one of the very few that would actually be considered decent or fine."
[5.0] "More charming, fulfilling and over than expected, perhaps this will serve as each's breakout singles match. This wasn't as memorable as Anna's tag-team affair against FordBunny, but it's a step in the right direction. Though she may be a poor woman's Bianca Belair, she does have an appealing, intimidating look; yet I wish she would get a new finisher as her 'Jaded' isn't as impressive nor as devastating as some of her slams. 2 3/5 5.2"
[6.0] "One of the few acceptable and non-dark defenses of Jade's infinite reign, for a long time this was perhaps the best match in this belt's history (what a terrible record) (***)"
[8.0] "Two women with enormous potential and limited experience delivering an excellent TV main event. Want to see them run this back in a couple years when they've figured out a few of the quirks in ring, cause they both have the necessary presences and athleticism to make it."
[7.0] "This match took me by surprise, as I'm usually not impressed by these two women in the ring despite recognizing their extreme potential. For me, the highlight of this match had to be the back and forth between Jay and Cargill, as there were some sweet counters from each woman including Jay's reversal of Jaded into a Rear Naked Choke and Cargill's reversal of the Corner Spinning Back Kick into a One Armed Powerbomb type thing. If you had any doubt that Jade Cargill had any potential in the ring, seek this match, as I believe that this will be the first of many impressive matches from Jade. ***1/2"
[6.0] "For two wrestlers who are still very green I enjoyed this. They've both got some way to yet but Anna in particular impressed me. Jade relies a bit too much on her impressive size at the moment but she could be the complete package if she continues to improve. ***"
[6.0] "Yeah, that's far for being a great wrestling bout but that was fun. I felt both Jay and Cargill's efforts here. They clicked well as Sterling and Silver's presence helped a lot. Neverheless, they kept it simple in the ring as this was effective. A great showcase for Jay as Cargill showed all her progress here. A milestone for AEW's womens division's future."
[6.0] "Far better than I would have expected from two women with so little experience. Despite a few awkward moments, Anna and Jade put on a pretty entertaining main event."
[7.0] "Considering both these wrestlers are pretty green, I thought this was surprisingly enjoyable. Both have room for improvement but both show a certain potential."
[4.0] "Solid match from two pretty green rookies. Nothing remarkable but baby steps towards improvement. Maybe there should be a higher standard for AEW's women's division by now but it is what it is."
[7.0] "Jade and Anna put on a surprisingly good match considering their greenness. Jade came off as a powerhouse with some very strong moves. That one-armed powerbomb(') was great. Anna came off as very slick and had some great reversals to Jade. Jade looked strong but gave Anna enough that it has me looking forward to a rematch."
[6.0] "I liked this match more than the final of the tournament for this title. Cargill is straight Goldberg female version. I wonder what will happen next."
[6.0] "I was expecting a bit of a disaster but it wasn't that. They did get a bit slow and clunky at times but the match had a decent enough flow. I feel like maybe I'm being a point or so generous because they went above expectations, but my gripes with the match weren't strong enough to take me completely out of it."
[6.0] "Good little match, very impressive for Jade and Anna in a singles outing considering how green and inconsistent they both are. This was probably both of their best singles matches, really well laid out to highlight their strenghs, and they managed to present Anna as a legitimate challenger."
[4.0] "Not a bad match but not good either. Their movements are very sluggish but the selling was probably the worst part. Jade probably shouldn't even be selling a lot with how she looks but she's very inconsistent as is and Anna just screams too much. Anyways, not a mess."
[7.0] "Somewhat generous with the rating, but it did beat out my expectations. Was not looking forward to this match at all, thought it was going to suck to be honest. Luckily they managed to have the best match of their careers, so I'll give them props for that."
[6.0] "Good main event here. Anna was the better performer in this match where she improved a lot more with added intensity after the gruesome street fight at Holiday Bash. Jade's work rate is something I need to see improve very well in the future as she does all the basic power moves alone which looks fine. I hope her reign as TBS Champion would improvise her down the road. 3 out of 5 stars!"
[6.0] "Probably a lot better than I was expecting as both are inexperienced but they worked well together. Some suspect selling and a little botchy in places but generally a good match. I liked the colour of Jade's gear."
[4.0] "This felt like watching two rookies at the WWE Performance Center put on their showcase match in front of their peers and coaches, except this was a title match main event on television. By that standard it was lacking, but it was good for their skill level."
[9.0] "I thoroughly enjoyed this match and was easily both women's best showings so far. But, while there were low expect going in, they really went above and beyond what one would've thought they could do. They didn't look rough or green really at all and the match had this very seamless flow to it and never really slowed down on energy and pace either, which is very impressive based on the little experience they share. The sequences we're really fun and had me excited for each women's next move. Hopefully both can continue to perform at a high level like this as I thought they stole the show on a card that featured Mox and the great Trent/Nick match. Legit great match to me ****"
[4.0] "This was way better than you'd think it would be, but both women still move too slow and look too choreographed for it not to come off as amateur."
[7.0] "Surprising match, s given how green I thought that Cargill and Jay were. Maybe the best match Jade ever did as a whole. Lot of improvement needed for both of the athletes but still impressive."
[6.0] "That was a pretty decent match between Anna Jay and Jade Cargill. Probably Jade's best. Everything felt more impactful and crisp than previous Jade matches. Anna Jay is fairly inexperienced as well, but her performance was very solid. There was some insulation with John Silver & Mark Sterling with funny spots. Some unexpected fluid chain wrestling near the closing stretch made this the step in the right direction for Jade. ***"
[4.0] "This was passable I suppose. Anna carried the match and Jade showed improvement but this isnt what you put on for a main event. Anna had to visibly remind Jade of several spots and it looked awkward. AEW really needs to sort out what they want from the womens division, titles are on people who can't carry their weight."
[6.0] "While this wasn't a great match, it was a lot better than I expected given the inexperience of the two wrestlers. There was some sloppiness in the transitions between moves, but both women hit the moves cleanly - something that wasn't the case in Jade's last big match against Ruby Soho. It was cleverly booked as well with some outside interference to keep things flowing, but that had no effect on the result. The best match Jade has had so far, and the best singles match from Anna, so despite the flaws it was an overall success."
[7.0] "Cargill VS Jay: [***1/2] I didn't hope to like this match, but is was good, enough to be the main event of the show. Even if I'm not very into Cargill's reign, it was a pretty decent match, Jay put a lot of effort too, even if there were some botches."
[6.0] "I was expecting a garbage match considering how bad Ruby vs Jade was on Dynamite but this actually pretty decent. There was little to none akward moments and some nice sequences. The ladies suprised me. Props to them. ***"
[6.0] "Very simple, as it should be with these two. Both looked good mostly doing basics while minimizing Jade's rawness. Some fun spots with John Silver. Enjoyable match overall, more than lived up to its main event billing."
[5.0] "So much better than Jade's last match. She carries matches on two things - power moves, and confidence. Even though she's green, in matches like this she commands the spotlight. The basketball spot went on too long."
[7.0] "Way better than I thought. TK really made a bold choice. If you check their match profile, you can see a simple fact: these two girls have had less than 70 matches in total in their career. With limited experience, they managed to make it work. Not a masterpiece for sure, but showed a very positive side of their respective potential. They've made some nice progress in their matches. AEW does have a outstanding coach team. These two girls will become bigger stars if they keep working hard."
[6.0] "Really well done for the expectations I had when I heard this was the main event. It will be good for both women to have gotten this experience, so that they can build on it and look back in a couple of years how far they hopefully have come. Meanwhile there was some usual awkwardness in spots, but they worked really hard and got the crowd into it, so it ended up a really decent match."
[6.0] "For two women with a combined three years experience, this was structured really well and played to both their strengths. Jade Cargill wasn't going to lose the title in her first defence, but Anna Jay had you believing that it could happen at one point, given this got the main event slot."
