[8.0] "decent match good submission work and some nice counters top moment for me was when misawas selling of his neck at one point, throughout the first 15 mins his neck was targeted and it finally gave out after kawada striked it causing him to delay any sort of comeback. I like how misawa entrusted the finishing move in being the tiger driver to be performed one time and it failed causing him to accept a draw as the result of the match"
[8.0] "This was a great match. The rivalry between Mitsuharu Misawa and Toshiaki Kawada was a great one, filled with excellent matches. Misawa went into this match hurt, but he certainly didn't work like he was injured. Due to the injury, they went with a more slow paced style, filled with submissions and moments where both men were just trading shots at each other. Spot of the match for me was when Misawa jumped from the top rope and hit Kawada with a forearm smash. Basically like the Phenomenal Forearm AJ Styles uses, but the way that Misawa hit the move looked like he destroyed Kawada. The match definitely picked up in the second half of the match. The finish was a 30 minute draw, with Kawada just kicking out of the Tiger Driver moments before. This would lead to a rematch in June for the Triple Crown Championship, a match that would end up being an all time classic in their feud. ****"
[8.0] "So far, I think this has been one of the "weakest" matches of their rivalry. Very slow start with many submissions, but in the second part the pace picks up and the two start to get serious, giving as always great exchanges and many nice maneuvers. A bit of a disappointing ending but given the circumstances in which the match took place, it's fair enough. 4 stars."
[8.0] "Story of the match is that this would have been a Champion's Carnival match but Misawa was injured. They decided to have the match anyway but it's non-tourney. Obviously not as great as what is to come between these two but still a very good match. More of a slower pace, longer and more frequent submission holds. Kawada had control for most of the match but Misawa had some great comeback spots here and there."
