[7.0] "This was actually a pretty good match considering I had never seen Jake Atlas before. Unfortunately, this looks to be his last match. I don't know if it was because of injury or the charges he got in May later that year. Either way, he had some potential that will never be realized."
[5.0] "I currently have mixed feelings for Jake Atlas; I feel like he went into his WWE run expecting himself to be a transformational figure, and when, for whatever reason, that didn't happen, he lost his smile. Now he's back on a big-stage, bigger than he's ever been, am I supposed to cheer him? He's bigger than what I remember him, but still moves very-well and his in-ring desire flame hasn't dissipated. There's only so-much 9:30 will accomplish, and it fits (too-comfortably) into always-up-for-a-fight Adam Cole's retinue of matches against lower-tiered guys, but it's solid, sharp pro-wrestling. 2 2/3 - 3/4 rounded-down for my current Atlas confusion"
[4.0] "05/01/22 Rampage AEW. That fake atmosphere, awful. The match itself nothing special, the injury actually forced a good ending. Cole looks decent maybe he could go far, needs to strengthen his gimmick. Atlas just came across fake, couldn't buy into him at all. Turned off the show after this match. 4*"
[6.0] "Would have got a 7 if the finish was executed as planned, unfortunately the injury meant it was instead a bit of a flat finish. Shame as these two gelled well. ***1/4"
[7.0] "This was a good debut for Jake Atlas. Adam Cole had Jake looking like a million bucks. The injury messed up the flow of the match, but Coles quick thinking saved the match from getting too sloppy."
[8.0] "The finish was coming up for sure; but this was still an outstanding match up until Jake's injury. Probably the best match Cole has had in a few weeks. Hope Jake Atlas can come back from this."
[7.0] "Cole being a dick especially for a guy like Atlas, who's just thrilled to making his return into wrestling, was great. Good storytelling, Cole wanted to destroy Atlas as the later had the crowd for him. Sad that Atlas got hurt but both dude showed great professionnalism to finish the match without being awkward. Atlas shined a lot."
[4.0] "Jake Atlas had some nice moments in here, it's a shame he seemed to pick up an injury, hope it does not keep him down long. Also hope he gets a better opponent as soon as he's ready to come back."
[6.0] "Jake Atlas vs. Adam Cole was a very good showcase for Atlas. Some creative counters and spots, and that Orange Crush looked awesome! It's unfortunate that Jake got injured in such a freak way, but Cole did a good job calling an audible. ***1/2"
[5.0] "Even before the injury this was bang average and full of the worst kind of wrestling that often infests AEW. The fake crowd noise was annoying too"
[5.0] "An interesting showcase for Atlas before it was derailed by his unfortunate injury. He certainly possesses good athleticism but his timing seems a little off, perhaps most noticeably in that he doesn't give significant moments (such as stealing Cole's taunt or wrestling him to a stalemate) enough time to breathe, making them feel less important. Cole wasn't at his best either here, with his moves looking a little less impactful and on-target than a typical performance from him. Still, they paired up together well, and the moment where they both went to hit a superkick and then backed off was very nice. The finish was hurried messy, but that was out of necessity and neither man seems to be at fault for the accident - here's hoping for a speedy recovery for Atlas where he can build on this performance."
[5.0] "Didn't ever really get going enough for me to make up for that ending, in which Atlas was injured and Cole won with a leglock which wasn't actually any kind of leglock at all, but what can you do. Cole had to be extra cautious not to inflict any further damage. Lots of injuries across the wrestling world just recently."
[8.0] "A pretty good match that could have been great if not marred by Atlas' injury. He looked believable and showed lot of grit, while also using his size advantage well and meshed greatly with Cole."
[6.0] "Insane synergy between these two but another match with a hindered finish (I believe) because of the unfortunate injury to Atlas. Pretty much a shame that these two face for the first time here even though both were on NXT at the same time. Atlas looked amazing here and I hope he becomes one of the brightest prospects of AEW in 2022. 3.25 out of 5 stars!"
[7.0] "This was getting very good until Jake Atlas' injury, and it was clear they called an audible when he couldn't go up for the Panama Sunrise. Even still, he showed way more here than he ever did in NXT, and hopefully he'll come back and have more opportunities like this."
[7.0] "A really solid looking debut from Atlas until the unfortunate injury, and good work from Cole both during the match and for changing the ending to protect Atlas after he got hurt. Hopefully Atlas will recover soon, based on what we saw here he's a great signing."
[6.0] "Nice match with a "sad" ending, where Cole improvised greatly, he was very smart there. We had some very nice moments and Jake Atlas really looked like he was hyped during this bout. Hope they have a rematch in the future. ***1/2"
