[7.0] "I enjoyed this match much more than I thought, especially given that it involved Muto who I really don't like in such prominent spots, at least when the matches reach certain lenghts as this one did, since they usually feel quite drawn out, however Muto didn't really take such an active part in the action and even when he did, he wasn't bad, of course he doesn't really do anything aside from Shining Wizards and Dragon Screws. The other three combatants really elevated this match, Mochizuki stood out the most, he even made Muto look great. I also didn't even realize that this match went over 20 minutes, flew by like a breeze."

Muto drags this down a bit with his weak Shining Wizards, but on the other hand, him exclaiming loudly "Oh fuck! " when Tanaka takes him down is a special treat from my PoV. He also drops the mf-bomb right double finisher on Mochizuki near the end :D"

Late era Muto is a lot better than I anticipated, like his physical abilities aren't what they were but his mind for good wrestling is still there. Also shoutout to Masato Tanaka wrestling twice in one day and still performing this well."

This made for a very entertaining match as Tanaka and Mochi bumped their asses off for their opponents and made them look great. Tanaka? s performance is even greater when you consider that he was in a hard hitting 22-minute title match with Sugiura earlier that day."

The finish was great and made sense in the context of the rest of the match. What more can you ask for?"

Obviously, he didn't do a really good performance, but I mostly liked this match thanks to Masaaki Mochizuki and Naomichi Marufuji, who had for example tremendous exchanges of Chops during this match. Moreover, the result was logical to me. ***1/2"

[7.0] "Four wrestlers who continue to prove that wrestling into your 40s and 50s does not mean you can no longer compete at a high level. Naomichi Marufuji is still one of the very best wrestlers on the planet. Keiji Mutoh know exactly how to pop the crowd and execute a rational strategy. And the team of Masaaki Mochizuki and Masato Tanaka are about as hard-hitting a tandem as you will ever find. The strategy of both teams was clearly laid out in this one, with Mochizuki and Tanaka clearly targeting the broken down knees of Mutoh. Marufuji and Mutoh, meanwhile, sought to control and labor the breathing of their foes. Both approaches made this a match that was as impressive psychologically as it was physically. The seeds were planted early and the overall story grew from it. The exchanges between Marufuji and Tanaka stole the show with their exchanges, including the incredible Sliding D off the apron. I loved Mochizuki focusing without relent on the knee of Mutoh, only to have the tables turned right back around on him. That Bicycle Knee and Dragon Screw combination is legitimately one of the best in wrestling. The first 15 minutes were certainly structural in their nature, as they were more about the build than the explosiveness. But the final five minutes more than justified the wait as both teams delivered tandem and individual offense that took the suspense to a high level. A great start to the year for both teams. 3.75 stars, 7.5 out of 10."

[6.0] "This match got to be really enjoyable by the end but took WAY too long to get there, especially considering the beginning was filled with leg work from Mochizuki and Tanaka that Marufuji and Mutoh weren't remotely selling by the end of the match. Mutoh worked better here than in the singles matches I've seen from his comeback run in NOAH, but I think that's just because he was in the ring less lol. The end was quite exciting except for the finish and Mochizuki and Tanaka worked really well together, just wish this match was more focused. ***+"

Shit, even Muto, held together with duct tape and prayer, knew his role in this match; come in to hit his signature moves to pop the crowd, and then fuck off to the outside so the that guys that can still go can do their thing and carry the match to greatness."

[7.0] "As much as I admire Muto for attempting to wrestle at a high level when he's nearly 60 with the knee problems that he's had, watching here was quite tragic and he looked like his body was about to give up on him by the time this wrapped up. His Shining Wizards looked like they wouldn't hurt a fly. Although I've never been a fan of his, Marufuji carried this one for his team. His interactions with Mochi and Tanaka were incredible, with that strike exchange with Mochi being a particular highlight."

[8.0] "Mutoh in this run doesn't do much for me, which I'll admit off of the bat. However, the work put in by Marufuji, Tanaka, and Mochizuki easily covers for Mutoh's low points of the match. Clever tag moves between Mutoh and Marufuji, including the Ko-oh/Shining Wizard near fall and the Dragon Screw/Thrust Kick. And Mochi and Tanaka's hard hitting offense was a perfect counter to Mutoh ground game and Marufuji's flashiness."

[8.0] "Masato Tanaka worked a match with Takashi Sugiura for Zero 1 hours before this Budokan show and the fact he was able to have a great match there and then have another one for this show, at his age and physical ability, is astonishing. I liked this one quite a bit, reminded me of an old school type of tag match and considering all 4 wrestlers in the ring and with it being in the legendary building, that's shouldn't come as a surprise. Keiji Mutoh had one of his better performances as of late, as always marufuji is great. I'm not too familiar with masaski but I'm aware he's part of the M's alliance and friends with everyone in it. Overall, better than expected. 4 stars."

[10.0] "This match was the second best on the card after the National Title match and was a real surprise. Marufuji and Tanaka are simply phenomenal still and Mochizuki is great, Muto is older these days but he bumped actually kicked it up a gear towards the end, moving faster than he ahs in years even if only for a short burst, and that sequence he had with the step up Shining Wizard after the step up Ko-Oh was really cool. I think this match should've been a couple of minutes longer because the last 5 are incredible."

Marufuji looked great, it seems that he came back to his peak and became that "Genius of The Ark" again in this match. Mochizuki and Tanaka were as good as always, and all three of them made Muto looked great too. Really happy that NOAH booked this."

[8.0] "Great match. I'll get the negative out of the way. Keiji Muto is a legend. That is not disputable. But, at this age he cannot take a bump that doesn't look akward and the only move he does that still has some speed to it and looks good is the Dragon Screw, he was not as bad as usual but the match still took a step down everytime he was in there. Now the good stuff. Everything between Tanaka and Marufuji was awesome, kind of bummed that we didn't get that title match before Marufuji dropped the title to Nakajima, they have awesome chemistry. Last 5 minutes were really well done. ****"
