[8.0] "I praised them in their last match for the pacing, can't do the same here. Not saying the pacing is bad but there's definitely some breaks in the action that take away from what is happening. It's still a fantastic match, but worse in every way from their previous encounter. There's call backs, and then there's just redoing the same spots, and this one felt more like they were just redoing what they did before. Feels almost soulless is comparison. I still do like this cause it's objectively well worked but idk, I'll just go with an 8."
[10.0] "I'm actually quite blown away by this match damn. First I'd like to say that their previous title match against each other from the same year is the reason I even got into Stardom in the first place, as it's not only my favourite match but it's also the reason why Utami is my absolute favourite wrestler, so this match-up in general has a special place in my heart, which makes it even more heartbreaking that the goat Utami lost here but you can't deny that Syuri deserves this, she's an absolute workhorse and not only is she one of the best in the world but she is probably THE best perfomer in Stardom (in 2021 at least). She proved this here once more with a phenomenal showing, she displayed so much fire and emotion throughout the whole fight which just added another layer of excitement, if you even can say it like that. I think Utami started off alright and got better and better as the match went on, she showed much more fire and emotion as well as the match went on, she hit every big move she had but nothing was enough to put away such a fiery Syuri, which made Utami become increasingly desperate until the end, I liked how after Syuri hit her with a knee to the back, she fired up and reversed into a pin of her own, which showcased her fighting spirit, which she was kind of missing in the beginning. I think one sequence in which Utami started to show more fire and intensity in general was around the middle of the match, Syuri targeted Utami's legs/knee with multiple submissions and Utami really had to fight in order to overcome that, they kinda forgot about that and the targeting of the knee became kind of a non-factor in the latter stages of the match, which is probably the only small nit-pick I could have. Something I liked as well, even if it was a bit try-hard, Syuri hit a Codebreaker on Utami and she collapsed onto Syuri for the pin as both them there super exhausted. In the end, Utami's offense wasn't enough to put away Syuri, who took control in the ending stretch, Utami still endured most of Syuri's barrage of attacks, there was this one crazy kick-out where they had me, like Utami just barely got her shoulder an inch up, but ultimately Utami was defeated by an impressive Syuri. Syuri deserves the world and she's surely going on an otherwordly run, which was kicked off by this extraordinary epic."
[9.0] "35 minutes that feels like 15. Building on the back of their classic earlier in the year this one had a lot to live up to and it delivers. I still prefer the previous matchup but this is a damn fine follow-up that is a more than worthy successor. Syuri puts in a tremendous performance as the challenger who just won't die and keeps coming. Utami brings it putting Syuri through hell and making the eventual title change that much sweeter. Truly a phemonial match, the only fault for me is not on the performers and that's how much better this could've been with a crowd, especially for those last 10 minutes or so. 4.5 stars."
[6.0] "This was the rematch for their infamous match back in June that year (they also had a time-limit draw in the 5 Star Grand Prix afterwards, but that's not super noteworthy), which was very good but wildly, insanely overrated, with many calling it the greatest women's match ever. It was very much just the standard, excessive Stardom 'epic', where there were lots of good ideas and some really high effort but not the best structuring or attention to details, just excesses for the sake of it. This was a lot more of the same, but with less of the novelty now that you know exactly what sort of drawn-out 'epic' they were going to go for. The worst part of this wasn't that it was long, predictable, and plainly generic. Those were still issues, but the main issue was just how simply underwhelming so many of their spots and exchanges were here. And this is an issue I've almost always had with most of Stardom's top wrestlers. If you want to do a bombfest, at least do it with the proper intensity, impact, and technique required. You don't need to go full 90s AJPW, but maybe try match at least half of what they were doing? So much of this was like watching two wrestlers practising their big match behind closed doors, given how frequently their offence just lacked the sort impact and finesse you'd expect from a major promotion's top stars. They started with the usual sort of nice but very much 'flowery' and insignificant grappling exchanges -- the sort that you can feel is often done because wrestlers want to prove they can wrestle 'traditionally' because they're anxious about criticisms for when they eventually move into their more traditionally 'exciting' but also more generic spots and trades, plus as a means to just pad out a match so that it's length itself somehow adds to its quality. They eventually moved to some decently intense strikes and began more rapidly trading mid-level counters, though with the usual sort of half-second slowness in set-ups that we usually see in Stardom, which still undercut their performances somewhat by revealing their artificiality. They got more creative and a bit more impressive as they moved to trading some bigger moves outside the ring and on the apron, though some moves still looked underwhelming in terms of impact and technique. At least their energy levels were good, and I guess at least every 5th or 6th big move actually looked pretty impressive, but then they'd return to having most of their other, would-be big spots and exchanges looking pretty mediocre and sadly at times outright amateurish. The majority of their biggest spots that were meant to be truly 'epic' and have that "this totally changes everything! " vibe were still pretty underwhelming (even if still plainly 'good' at the very least), and not just because of the clap crowd. Some of their big counters in the final 1/3rd were actually pretty good, though still with some obvious flaws of either loose technique, over-cooperative set-ups, or somewhat light impact that bugged me. The match had also just become pretty synthetic in that period with the predictable pattern of big moves -> near falls -> rest pause -> repeat, with maybe one of those rest pauses instead turning into a counter which was then itself likewise followed by a near fall, then a rest pause, and repeating, just with the other wrestler then in control, or maybe they'd instead do yet another extended trading sequence before again returning to that formula. The sloppiness was sadly still pretty obvious too, which didn't help. If this was an opening or mid-card match from less-experienced talents then I wouldn't be so harsh, but this was the big, year-ending main-event for a major feud, and it was hyped up as another all-timer, so I can't help pick these many shortcomings apart. The match was frankly also just way too damn long without nearly enough to justify that length. The whole final 10 minutes really just felt like they were rehashing stuff they'd done 5, 10, or 15 minutes earlier, only with the slightest of twists that were really still pretty insignificant. Even their energy levels had drastically dropped, and not in a 'selling exhaustion' type way, but in a "they can't perform these moves in a way to convince me that they're doing half the damage that their opponent's selling is telling me they're doing" way, which was jarring. Syuri's match-winning power move didn't even look especially impressive or like it was notably better than any other big move either she or Utami hit here either. In fact, it looked (and sounded) pretty flat. I can understand being high on this if it's one of the first epic back-and-forth puroresu matches you've seen, but if you've seen the greatest hits of 90s AJPW, 00s NOAH, or 2010s NJPW, I don't see how this can at all compare without being heavily downgraded. ***1/4"
[10.0] "I certainly preferred their previous encounter back in June of the same year, but that fight was completely insane as well. Hayashishita and Syuri took the silence imposed by the COVID-19 protocols by settling a cold, and killer atmosphere. To be honest, I didn't see the 35 minutes of this bout going by. This was like a pause in time where they surely destroyed the living shit out of each other. Big strikes, big moves, big spots, and big bumps. They also worked pretty well outside the ring, and both Syuri and Hayashishita took their brutal bumps on the concrete. In fact, it felt like a King Road's style fight, but just without the loud screams of a packed arena. They also put some great grappling. I liked that. Both ladies legitimately threw everything they had in store, and the final minutes were the showcase of their ultimate fighting spirit. Killer fight, they could have fought all night long if they wanted, showing that these two great talents have a natural, and excellent chemistry. Another classic for the ages. Definitely."
[6.0] "More of a soulless rehash of their first match, a bout which has many problems, but survives on spectacle alone. This mainly comes down to Utami, she's just boring as hell here. She's the works like some kind of Super Cena clone, and that hurts even more against someone who relies so heavily on her striking. Plus another 30+ minute match between two people who've already gone too long before feels like a insult more than a compliment to how well they're being booked, at least to me. Final verdict: Watch the first one. Skip this one. 3.25 Stars."
[9.0] "I thought this was excellent. I am very fond of the Japan-esq main event epic format, so I enjoyed both this match and their match earlier from that year. What I loved specifically about this one though was two things. 1: I thought there was less fluff in this match, even if it did initially start very slow. And 2: I thought Syrui especially had an incredible performance, with not just her in ring work, but expressions and body language too. There was an extra hint of anger and tenacity in her offense. The kind that screams "I'm not f***ing losing this time" and it translated very well. Even when she was getting her shit rocked, the way she was bouncing back and trying to keep herself alive was really engaging. The spot where Utami hits her with the Hijack Bomb and Syuri latches onto the rope to break the pin, while seemingly looking barely conscious at all. So damn good. This match had everything you'd expect from these two. Great strikes, huge bumps, exciting brawling, with the added limb work from Syuri and the limb selling from Utami to hammer home an extra variable to the match. It's a shame that the crowd was very lackluster for this, even in the final stretch, but these wrestlers are so great that it didn't tank the overall quality of the match. This was an awesome way usher in Syuri's red belt reign and a hallmark of joshi wrestling."
[8.0] "A match that is gradually becoming interesting. The first 10 minutes are horrible, nothing really happens and for what little there is, the two wrestlers scream with every blow they land. The sequel is really very good with very pretty near falls and good selling. The finish is done in the total discretion of the commentators, it's a shame knowing that this is the only indicator without the reactions of the public. (4*1/4)"

A lot of big bumps and an incredible final stretch that made the victory fell like earned that it's something missing in some big matches nowadays. [10.0] "Above perfection. It's unreal what Utami and Syuri did right here. The Pressure was high as hell but they topped it and even exceeded expectations. Before the match itself started I knew it's going to be awesome but I simply wasn't expecting that. Strikes and callbacks to their previous match from June is what I love the most about this clinic. Grappling exchanges, Utami's Leg-Work and her masterclass selling is also worth mentioning. I've never felt this intensity since Ibushi vs. Okada from Wrestle Kingdom 14. Gladly Syuri won and took STARDOM to completely new era."

[9.0] "I was afraid that this match would be drowned in all the inflated expectations of the public and I was wrong. Joshi coped with all the pressure and created another powerful match. It may still not differ from the previous one as much as I would like it to be, but actually it was different. I am in awe of work with Utami's leg. Hayashishita herself sold it amazingly, and that was the most important aspect. Of course, the birth of a new finisher is another advantage. There is a lot of symbolism in this. After all, Syuri fully deserved to close the year this way."
[10.0] "Where the first match takes a bit to get going, this is worked with intensity and urgency from the word go, and they manage to make this match feel completely different in tone to their first match while still retaining what made that match great. (****3/4)"
[10.0] "Perfect. If you looked up war in the wrestling encyclopaedia, you would find a picture of Utami Hayashashita and Syuri staring each other down at the start of this match. Disgusting spots and strikes abound here, with each woman doing everything in their power, and then some, to put the other down for the 3 count. I have no doubt that the next generation of joshi and women's wrestlers around the world will look to this match for inspiration. These two women deserve every single star possible."
[9.0] "Great match. They had a lot to lived up to and while it wasn't quite as good as their instant classic 43 min draw, it wasn't a huge step down in quality. Nice slow start, even and consistent pace, back and forth action, And a great story to go with it. Unlike Syuri's usual approach, Syuri didn't bring out her powerful kicks a lot, she relied more on a Luchador inspired moveset mixed with catch wrestling. I think The match would have been better had she utilized her vicious kicks from the get go as they are her main selling point. Utami was great here showing her class as a Champion, dominating the veteran challenger with her power and at the same time, selflessly making her shine. All in all, I found it to be a great match and a worthy conclusion to one of the best rivalries if not, the best rivalry in 2021. ****1/2"
"The Utami/Syuri matches are among the most divisive matches of 2021. Either you love them for how they attempt the main event epic or you hate them because they attempt something that doesn't work. Both sides have as much justification for liking or disliking them. For myself, I don't love them on the level of some of the Tanahashi/Okada matches, but I admire the effort of both women. I'm not sure if I prefer this or the June match. Still, this was an excellent match that escalated with each passing moment. While I am a fan of Utami, this was no doubt Syuri's moment to shine. She's just one step ahead of her every step of the way. With no time limit, she could work with as much space as needed to finish the job. It's pretty clear Utami's time was up in those final moments, making Syuri's win to cathartic to witness. Excellent match. ****1/2"

[8.0] "The positives - The match is technically incredibly sound. Both preformers are sharp, have keen chemistry with each other, and put a whole lot of effort. It made the long running time feel like a breeze.It is a great match, so do not let the negativity below give off the impression that I did not like it quite a bit. The negatives - a lot of recklessly dangerous spots that added very little to the match. In the first third there were a few spots done on the outside, which has very little padding. The spots themselves did not add too much to the match, were a total bitch to take for the preformers, and to top it all off, they did not quite go all in while taking those bumps, trying to (understandably) not have it hurt as much. This led to spots both being dangerous and not needed, while also losing a lot of the WOW factor due to them not really being as crunchy and awe-inspiring. Some striking by the end also felt a bit flimsy. Personal note:You can not convince me that there is a single spot on Suyuri's body more sore after this match than her throat. Boy, does she love screaming at the top of her voice for most of the match, and it got incredibly grating to me personally."
[10.0] "Amazing again from them. I was a bit sceptical of what they would do with this match but the result was a non-forced epic, not longer than it needed to be just for the sake of it. Started slow of course, but not too slow, picked up speed and never really stopped (outside of a couple of ref checks). There were some seriously dangerous moves used here, both the Long-Dart and the Air Raid Crash were more extreme than the first match. The awesome, new, One-Winged Angel-esk, finisher from Syuri may be what took it up to a 10 for me."
[7.0] "If their June contest was being compared to the first Ishii/Shibata throwdown in August '13 (and it really shouldn't as how can one compare a 40+ minute match to one that's less than 15, ) then this was the Oct '13 follow-up or perhaps, if we're really generous, the Jan '16 match. It's still quality, but a bit diluted, less novel and not as extraordinarily vigorous. I won't ever understand how a competitor can take a frightening air-raid crash to the floor, and gain the upper-hand less than a minute later. Despite some of U's quality selling of her left knee, particularly commendable when she altered her body's position on the German-with-a-bridge, this bout clearly proves that S is the superior in-ring talent. Not only did she take the riskier bumps, but some of U's strikes (the high-head forearm blows hit air 1/2 the time, ) and reactions to S's strikes (if U's arms are going to block S's attempts, when U was grounded, U can't afterwards lead her selling by conveying a wrecked head) are not elite level. Giulia was originally in S's position, but as that was not in her cards, I'm pleased Stardom inserted S instead and did not alter this long-term plan to take the red belt off-of UH at this event. With regards to rating, I'm at a 7.5 that I'm (vainly) torn-about. The right woman won, but I also didn't feel the crowd was that hyped for the finish. 3 3/5 - 2/3"

The weight of that initial match and everything in the interim just had me caring more from the get-go, feeling everything they were doing. Utami wasn't as laser focused as she usually is in defences, mixing up her offence while the story was more in Syuri targetting Utami's injured knee; something of a reversal from the direction earlier Utami defences took but that ability to perform in so many types of encounters is what makes her such a world-class talent. Syuri absolutely deserved the result for the year she's had and the emotional payoff was the cherry on top. I can't see what's to gripe about with this match: just a world, world class title match!"
[9.0] "Fantastic blow off to a first class feud between two top level wrestlers. Great final few minutes, fantastic selling and the perfect kind of exhaustion/desperation a match like this needs. Fucking love the one winged angel finish with the backfists before hand. The powerbomb and air raid crash apron spots were brutal. Brilliant."
[6.0] "I didn't like this match. I really liked their work at the beginning and the ringside, especially as Syuri looped the powerbomb and completed the segment with her superiority, but as soon as they entered the ring, I didn't care. It was like watching a great start to the match, which abruptly turned into a very long finish, and there are no connecting threads between it. And, what makes the match even worse for me personally, there are almost no reversals here. In terms of, I like it when wrestlers don't get into the moves and realize the severity of the damage they received, for example, Kamitani struck me with this in the previous match, having fought off getting into Nakano's move, which could lower her chances. Here they literally alternated big moves, without any hint of tactics. The work on the leg was very situational, the first submission and the screams of the commentators looked fake. I didn't like Syuri's finisher, including too many unnecessary movements that aren't beneficial. I understand why people like it, but in my opinion, it's just a soulless demonstration of a big match, which is big only because it should be big. I liked their tag team matches more, because at least they tried to be careful there. The previous title match was fantastic and they completely missed it (***)."
[10.0] "Pretty much my only issue with the first match is that it ended in a draw twice, but this rematch was everything I wanted it to be, just perfect. Glad they pulled the trigger on Syuri, and glad this lived up to the insane hype it had and ended up my MOTY *****."
[7.0] "A lot can be written about this match, about Utami Hayashishita's title reign, but I think this match itself told the story - this match tried to use a formula that some of long epic all-time great matches used, but Hayashishita's performance was very dry and paint-by-numbers (as per usual), and Syuri was a much (much) better wrestler than Hayashishita here, she made this match great, she won the belt and she earned this big feel-good moment that she got. It's been a long time coming, but she finally won the belt and everything is good again. Matches with this formula need two wrestlers to be at the top of their game, but as I said before, only one wrestler was capable to show up, therefore I won't rate this match very highly. Still, a good enough Main Event with a great post-match feel-good moment for a big show."
[10.0] "***** Another 5 star classic between this two girls. If Syuri is in the match then instanstly it's going to be good but her and Hayashishita is magic!"
[7.0] "The main problem of their previous title match here was absolutized. It started off well, and then I just stopped liking what was happening, and nothing besides the moves was particularly impressive. But if in the previous match Utami and Syuri coped with this problem and made a real heat of passion and ultimate competition, then there was not a drop of the epic that was originally conceived and expected. I felt almost nothing during the fight despite the fact I was waiting for it. There was no clever work, no epic, no competition, as in the first match, where they literally died in order to snatch victory with their teeth and destroy opponent. Syuri did the Stretch Muffler, but then she didn't even try to work on the injured leg of Hayashishita. Yes, she kicked her in this leg, but only when Utami stopped limping. I can't remember really hot exchanges or something that could involve me into the fight. Syuri screamed, but she does it every her match. To sum everything up, their previous title match was much, much better, and, unfortunately, I didn't see anything special here. For me it was just another overrated match in Shingo Takagi style. A lot of big moves, but a lack of soul, storytelling and smart work. Kamitani in the pre-main was much smarter than Syuri in her battle against Utami. Not bad moves, some moments and the start, but in general this is disappointment for me."
[8.0] "Preferred their first match but this was match was no slouch either. These ladies had a mission and they went out there and tried to have match of the year at the tail end of the year and I admire them for it. Great match."
[7.0] "I enjoyed this with some fantastic spots throughout but I could not escape the fact he it felt like it went about 10 minutes too long, modern wrestling is stuck in the rut that everything needs to go long and be a forced epic. No crowd reaction again really harmed my enjoyment. The modified one winged angel was awesome and looks a hell of a lot better than Kennys"
[10.0] "It's hard to say whether this match topped their first one this year without watching it at least once more, but it absolutely was one of the matches of the year, and a more than fitting climax to this feud. It wasn't dragged out unnecessarily due to the lack of time limit - in fact it was shorter than the first match. And Syuri ending the match with a modified One Winged Angel was incredible, I don't know if it will ever be possible but her vs Kenny would be a match for the ages."
[10.0] "I didn't think it was quit as good as their match from a couple of months ago, but they managed to bring it all once again as this two facing can make a bad match. certainly this year feud. Great intensity and violence during all the match. Syuri hitting a modified One Winged Angel to get the victory was nice."
[10.0] "The culmination of Syuri's journey this year. An epic clash between monsters of incredible stamina and durability. I don't think the action peaked as often as their first title match, but the story and emotion were much stronger this time around. ****1/2"
[10.0] "I prefered the first one a little bit, but these two just can't have a bad match together. This feud pretty much started the insane growth of Stardom this year with their June match, so naturally this one had extremely high expectations and they didn't disappoint at all. Every call-backs to their previous matches were brought perfectly and added a lot to their already great story. The last minutes were just insane, all the near-falls and bumps got me on the edge of my seat, and it escalated perfectly until that One Winged Angel/Emerald Flowsion mix by Syuri (that looked once again like an attempted murder more than a wrestling move) that ended 36 nearly perfect minutes and that finally put Syuri at the top of the company. The post-match was very emotional, even more since Konami was at commentary. Like the first one, I don't feel like it is the best Stardom match, but this is the kind of match that will help elevate Stardom even more. *****"
[10.0] "This was damn madness, what kind of match by god, the storytelling is exceptional, the spots and the moves they make are accurate when you least expect it, the strikes are there at almost all times, the selling of Utami is beautiful i loved that they started slow and then had brawls outside the ring where they did very good sequences, honestly it surpasses their previous match, the best female fight of the year but by far, absolutely [* * * * *]"
[10.0] "A super battle of queens! My God, Utami and Syuri gave their very best in this tremendous match, we can see that they're fighting like is their last match ever. A lot of beautiful storytelling, marvelous spots and intense strikes from both women. Their selling and psychology were on fucking point and every second of this match mattered. This trilogy, along with Konami vs Syuri, is the reason why I decided to watch more STARDOM in my life, and boy, what a right decision! Those last near falls from Utami were insane and got me ultra hyped, wanting even more. This is absolutely the MOTY, there's not a single doubt about it. *****"

Much like their first encounter, I don't believe that this match is quite on the same level as the classics of All Japan Women's or even the best of Shirai-era Stardom. [10.0] "This is the feud that got me to officially dedicate myself to following this promotion. I believe both of these women are top 10 wrestlers in the world, regardless of any categories; they went out and showed that yet again. This match had something for everyone, whether you like mat wrestling, striking, high spots, it was all there. They got me on multiple near falls, and although I felt very strongly it was Syuri's night, I thought I may have been wrong more than once near the end. I was worried with the no time limit they would needlessly drag it out, but I think they absolutely nailed the timing. Please do yourself a favor and go watch this match. Thankfully, it seems like this won't be the last we see of these two and personally I cannot wait."
[10.0] "Well I'll be damned, they did it. Utami and Syuri had so much pressure on them to top their classic June encounter and I thought they pulled it off. The pacing was crisp, the 36-minute runtime was perfect without going too long and there were so many big moves and moments. Syuri's signature moments included a big leg drop on the apron, a rana off the apron, a huge kimura lock off the ropes, a lawn dart to the turnbuckle pad, a monster DDT, an emerald flowsion and a gray finishing move. Utami's big moments included a massive powerbomb on Syuri to counter a dive, and her other major moves included a bat driver to the floor, a hijack backbreaker into a BT bomb and more. There were also a bunch of stiff strikes throughout this match, as well as callbacks to their first match and it was all great. It got scary at times, especially the neck bumps and some of the moves off the apron, but it worked out in the end. Best of all, we had a decisive winner. I was worried this match would go 45+ minutes and risk becoming overkill, but they managed to get everything, pace it perfectly and have the run time be around the same as some of my favorite matches ever. To me, this was a clear ***** match."
[10.0] "Legitimately almost as good as their first match, but still a fantastic match. They didn't go as far as their first bout of over 40 minutes but this had as much drama and emotion. Both traded moves towards the end and Syuri came out on top with both belts. 5 stars. *****"

Ridiculous bumps on the floor with that Powerbomb and Air Raid Crash, incredible sequences with knees, suplexes lariats, kicks, everything they could throw at each other. Sometimes in pro wrestling there's just those 2 people who feel like they were meant to wrestle each other. Misawa/Kobashi, Omega/Okada, Omega/Tanahashi etc.. And now Syuri and Utami. Syuri's my WOTY regardless of gender, the year she had is out of this world. Fully deserved title win, she could finally dedicate it to her late mother. Absolute classic yet again. *****"
[10.0] "They did it again! While they didn't quite match the emotion of their first title bout, the work in this match was even smoother and the pacing was even better. They probably repeated some spots from their June match verbatim a bit too much, but they did add a few new twists here and there. The most notable of these, of course, was the Air Raid Crash to the floor instead of on the apron. That was insane, but seriously, don't do that again, lest someone's neck get caught on the apron on the way down. The finish was tremendous, as Utami withstood everything Syuri threw at her, until Syuri had to come up with a new finishing move in order to win. Syruri finally winning the title in a classic is the perfect ending to Stardom's greatest year yet. *****"
