[8.0] "This absolutely broke my heart, it got shattered into pieces, Momo betraying Queen's Quest killed any last piece of happiness I had within me, I mean it makes sense why it happened. Especially, they had Momo doing all the team moves with the others, showing how much of a team they are and so on, Momo betraying AZM in the end in particular also makes sense given that they were sorta the closest with each other at QQ, I must say tho that the execution of the betrayal felt somewhat lacklustre. The match itself was decent, they elimanted two of the best performers in Utami and Konami pretty early on, which also makes sense given that they probably wanted to protect Utami given her upcoming title match, AZM also has to be mentioned, yet another otherworldly performance, she gave her heart fighting for Momo in this match, eliminating both Ruaka and Kashima."
[5.0] "Result is not the problem, Momo really should join Oedo Tai, however the execution was poor. The match itself was decent, despite some lazy performances and the ending did not have some great logical sense from the booking perspective. Utami should be the last woman and the betrayed one, come on..."
[7.0] "A pretty good match with a pretty nonsensical finish. Although Momo and Kid were the 'main characters' of this match, and while they were also both good here, AZM was the clear standout with her impressive displays of speed and agility, plus the many slick ways she set up her attacks (especially her various submissions). Kid wasn't far behind her in the areas of speed and agility, but I'm still yet to see anything truly great from Kid, especially when AZM seems to outclass her in almost every area. Konami, Momo, and Utami all impressed with their various strikes and power moves, being relatively more of the 'powerhouses' of the match, though Konami and Utami naturally didn't get much spotlight time due to the match's story focussing elsewhere. The weak links were obviously Ruaka and Saya: Ruaka because she remains lumbering and with unconvincing offence despite being portrayed as a sort of 'bruiser', and Saya because her set-ups and attacks still look pretty awkward and contrived, even plain sloppy at points. I enjoyed how this Captain's Fall stipulation allowed for some different match dynamics than we're used to, such as the over-the-top-rope eliminations -- some of which were done/teased quite well -- plus it kept drama all the way through the match because there was always a chance that either side could win (even though a loss with Momo turning to Oedo Tai always seemed the obvious path). The match became really fun whenever the various pairings picked up their pace and began rapidly trading moves and flash pins, especially if it involved anyone alongside AZM, who remains great at those sorts of exchanges. It was also really fun watching Momo aggressively batter her nemesis Kid with big strikes and power moves. There were some cool spots leading into some convincing near falls and teased near falls as Kid fought against the numbers advantage (which fit despite her being the heel, especially since she relied on outside interference from her eliminated teammates) to try put Momo away. Unfortunately, the way Momo's heel-turn was handled made no sense. I mean, what -- was she on Oedo Tai's side the whole time despite clearly beating them up and nearly pinning Kid multiple times to win the match? Or did she just realise on the spur of the moment, or perhaps with enraged motivation due to AZM's obviously accidental friendly-fire roundhouse kick, that she was being 'held back' by QQ, leading to her then immediately joining the opposing team despite how they'd been antagonising and outright assaulting her for so long leading up to this match? This is a common way heel turns are carried out in wrestling, but that doesn't make it any less stupid. It also didn't help that she took her sweet time rising to her feet with the chair in her hands, which made it far too obvious that she was about to pull a SWERVE and hit AZM instead of Kid, so the execution of the heel turn was also really weak. Regardless of those final 30 seconds, which led to a result I was already expecting anyways, I enjoyed this as an actual wresting match. ***1/4"
[10.0] "The match was great and non-stop action from beginning to end and that alone deserves an 8 from my part. As for the booking, I understand why most people would be upset but in reality Momo's betrayal was very logical, she was at the moment one of the most unimportant members of QQ, she didn't have any singles title for a while, the Goddessess of Stardom tournament although MomoAZM made it as far as the finals they weren't able to win so at the end Momo just feels irrelevant and needed a change of direction to reignite her fighting spirit, an opportunity that SLK offered with this match estipulation. I admit the build up was not perfect by any means and it really requires a bit of imagination fron the fans to try and see things through "Momo's perspective" to fully comprehend the whole story, but well, I'm not a wrestling journalist, I'm just a rendom member of this site giving my biased opinion so 10/10 because I loved this."
[5.0] "Well...For the in ring itself, I have nothing to say, it was more than correct, but the problem for me here, it's the booking of the match, and I speak not only of the conclusion. 2, 5*"
[8.0] "As a match it was really good, as a booking decision not so much. Great exchanges with Utami and Konami, AZM and SLK, AZM and Saki, even Saya and Saki, Momo and SLK. IT was just a good match. But Momo betraying AZM' Makes no sense to be quite honest. Nothing in the lead up or even in the match hinted at a reason Momo might want to defect to Oedo Tai so this just came out of nowhere."
[5.0] "This could have been great, but this booking is awfull. Momo turning on AZM is absolutly stupid. On Utami it would have make sens, on AZM absolutly not. And even the moment and context of the turn make no sense. The action was pretty good but Utami and Konami getting eliminated first does't really make sens, and the end is stupid."
[5.0] "Wrestling is stupid. By all means, buy into Momo's reason for turning and point to the one time SLK mentioned if she really was still the leader of QQ. But her wrestling the full match with several nearfalls and false finishes does not fit within the context of Momo betraying her own group. It's a shame when the booking winds up failing a match, because I really do think this was a tremendous performance from AZM and could've been something great. Alas, it's only something worth remembering for Momo's turn, which was always going to happen. It was either that, or SLK switching groups again. At the very least, Momo has a chance to be a major figure in Stardom again. And who knows, maybe she'll start wearing Megadeath tees to the ring and no-sell kendo shots to the head. I can dream, can't I"
[7.0] "Poor AZM... The match was good, mostly well wrestled, but nothing overly special and while Momo betraying QQ here DOES make sense it takes some imagination from us the audience for it to work. QQ was perfect with their current line-up but I look forward to seeing heel Momo for sure! Who will replace her though' Is Io coming back soon'"
[5.0] "What good is a superb build if the eventuality is shite' 1) Why would Momo compete-fight so hard if it was an 'inevitability'' 2) Y would the ref DQ Momo after he was countlessly interfered with by Oedo Tai' An absolute let-down! SLK's Van-Daminator on Momo was atrocious by both women. And these Captain Fall rules weren't even cool like DG in which if the Captain scores a pinfall, one of his-her teammates can reenter the match. Thumbs down, disappointing, 2 3/5"
[6.0] "Honestly, this was a huge disappointment. The booking was infuriating nonsense, I have no idea what rationale goes to justify that buy I'm just confused and unsatisfied. Match itself was a bit of a clusterfuck which is fine but for me it never hit that top gear, a criticism I'd level at the entire undercard. Combine that with the booking & finish & unsatisfied is the word. Nothing was bad but I expected more. **¾"
[7.0] "First of all: Momo Watanabe turning heel was amazing and it made A LOT of sense! The match was really cool, filled with a lot of rapid and good sequences and some great Tag Work. Also, the near falls and teasing eliminations were all incredible and can get you out of your chair. Good stuff right here. ***3/4"
[7.0] "The action was really great. It was none stop as soon as the belt ring, they all did go 100%. The ending will piss some people off, as Momo allies with SLK after they fight for a bunch, wish I admit doesn't make a lot of sense, but it was quit dramatic. Odeo Tai really need Momo to join them as Konami is taking her breack and need a top wrestler in their ranks."
[9.0] "It can be described in one word, excellent. The storytelling of the match was unparalleled and the great ending intended for this match was perfect, fortunately momo can now make the most of her full potential with a new character."
[8.0] "The finish is silly and makes no sense, but it was a great match and one of my favourite tag matches all year. Starlight Kid with Momo/AZM are just magic together. Utami was out early on but always stands out, some great teasing of the ring out eliminations and all round great work. **** but deducting .25 off for the finish"
[9.0] "There were a couple of sloppy spots, but this is the type of clusterfuck (with story relevance) that's interesting. Post-match was something that'd legit get me into the product as a whole."
[9.0] "I love the fact that they built the match around Azumi going to war to keep Momo with her. MomoAZ is (well, was) my favorite team in Stardom and seeing that was just so fitting and a great story. The match itself is great imo, with a constantly fast pace and good performances from everyone. Now for the ending, because it's what everyone will remember, I thought that the DQ finish itself was a good idea, Momo went from being the leader to the 4th most important member of QQ so she got jealous and turned on her stablemates, that makes sense, but the final fall doesn't tease any betrayal at all. I loved the moment itself, AZM killed herself trying to save her best friend just to receive a chair shot, but through the whole last fall it never felt like Momo would betray AZM. Momo to OT is obviously the right choice, SLK shouldn't leave OT anytime soon, and should never lose her mask, and I'm praying that this turn will finally start that main event push for Momo that most people have been begging for basically since Bushiroad bought the company. I have kind of mixed feelings about the ending, but overall what a match and what a moment ! ****1/2"
[8.0] "This match was really great... until the finish, which made no sense. Momo Watanabe, before getting herself disqualified, sincerely tried to pin Starlight Kid several times. This means that, in storyline, she was still trying to win, and thus could not have made the decided to betray her faction yet. The only thing that could have made her change her mind was AZM accidently kicking her with less than two minutes to go in the match. But Momo never once acted like that caused her to change her mind, nor did she ever sell any conflict in loyalty at the end of the match. She just instantly turned on AZM and immediately began sauntering around like it was her plan all along. This is pretty much the same problem I had with Konami turning heel last year, where she wrestles a whole match and risks having her assigned team win for 15 minutes. It's just lazy storytelling. Before the finish, AZM, Momo, and Starlight Kid were all fantastic in this match. AZM's pinning combinations and Starlight Kid's Momoe latch were the highlights. ****"
[9.0] "As expected, it was very exciting. Every part of this long and principled rivarly was embodied in one or another way in this match, it is really superbly produced. Every elimination has a narrative. I especially liked the way Kashima showed Kamitani who is the real boss of the rolls here. During a 2-1 situation, I could not hold myself still. It was scary for all of joshi. But the ending elevated all previous emotions to the absolute. Yes! Momo leaves Queen's Quest on her own terms. There is no degree of hesitation. She can do whatever she wants now."
[9.0] "This was the only outcome that made sense and the one I wanted. Stardom has picked Utami as the current QQ star and Saya as the future one so Momo would always be overshadowed in that unit. The fact she betrayed them and not just joined against her will because of the rules of the match is also the correct thing because it gives her agency. She did what she wanted, when she wanted. I'm really excited fot this next chapter of Dark Momo. The final 10 minutes were beautifully built with drama and nearfalls, AZM desperately fighting to keep her tag team partner was awesome to see. The post match was also really emotional even though this is the outcome I wanted, I'll miss the best female tag team in the world, MOMOAZ. Only complaint I might have is that cracking your partner over the head with a chair to symbolize a turn is a bit overused at this point. But yeah, the rest was phenomenal. Wrestling is all about how it makes you feel and this made me feel excited, happy and sad at the same time. ****1/4"
[9.0] "A ridiculously fast-paced, all-action bout that was smartly booked from top to bottom, and had a shock ending and an emotional post-match. Great match. (****1/4)"
[8.0] "This was an awesome match, at least for two-thirds of it, with a closing stretch and ending that will be polarizing for various reasons. I loved the opening 12 minutes of this match, which were extremely fast-paced with a shocking double elimination of Utami and Konami within the first five minutes. This match was moving at a rapid pace for the first 12 minutes, before things got mucky. There were various moments of interference by Oedo Tai, one of which caused an impending three-count to be halted. Even though SLK was at a 2-1 disadvantage for several minutes, she hung through until the end, albeit in part due to all the interference. Now, for the ending. When the chair was brought into the fray, the thought looming in the back of a lot of minds was that Momo might use it to turn against AZM. Moments later, she did it, then beat up the ref to disqualify herself. Momo and OT then beat up the rest of QQ, which was followed by emotional promos by AZM and Utami of all people. Saya cried. It was surreal in a way. A lot of people have gotten tired by the whole "Oedo Tai wins with cheating and having opponents turn on their partners to join them" schtick, and I can see why. I also hate interference-laden endings. However, I kind of liked it here. It reminded me of Konami betraying Jungle Kyona a year ago, but the history between Konami and Kyona pales in comparison to that of Momo and AZM in my opinion. In other circumstances I would probably hate this ending. But, seeing QQ react how they did, and feeling what I felt when Momo turned, combined with hope that this could lead to an actual character for Momo has me feeling hopeful. A part of me wants to go up to a 9, but I will settle with an 8/10 to avoid going overboard."
