[7.0] "A little too much of an exhibition match to go above and beyond, but still a good bout. Ishii punching up against dudes nearly twice his size is always a treat, and Brody King is awesome in general. They follow the usual Ishii formula almost to the letter, but anybody that's seen Ishii work knows that he could have a 3-star match with a sack of potatoes, so him going through the motions with somebody that can work still leads to compelling hard-hitting sequences and a cool finish where Ishii wins by the skin of his teeth but still definitively beats the big man. They left some on the table, which tells me that NJPW might have these two go it at it again with higher stakes, and that sounds like a great time. ***1/2"

[6.0] "Tomohiro Ishii versus the Super Heavyweights. Every match of this niche is captivating. The 5 foot 7 Stone Pitbull against the 6 foot 5 and 285-pound Brody King was no different. This one took a little time to get off the ground, but once King realized how much it would take to actually hurt Ishii, it became quite a good match. Ishii threw the bombs he is known for, with just a little something on them given the need to hit harder in order to overcome the odds. King fired back and showed why it is that so many are clamoring for him to be featured on weekly television. Throw in one of my favorite moments of 2021, with Ishii locking his own arms over the top rope as King literally chopped his chest bloody and Kevin Kelly accused The Stone Pitbull of being a masochist, and this was a worthy main event. 3. 25 stars, 6. 5 out of 10. Ishii is a master of selling and imagery."
