1218.02.2024Zander8.0Out of all the matches these two teams had together, this was probably the best one. The action was awesome and highlighted what both men are good at, there were some good spots and some false finishes but they werent overdone like Full Gear. Lucha Bros got the win.

1922.08.2023Michael Morbius7.0Better than their Full Gear match but still not the classic that I was expecting from these two teams: the action was very good with a couple of great spots, especiialy the ones with the Aaa belt. Lucha Bros didn't look super confident doing their manuevers, especially Fenix. Ftr were good as usual. The ending was innovative but a bit too much elaborated for me. 7/10 - 3.75*/5*

2109.07.2023Minorsmile098.0I thought this was super fun, probably a bit better than their Full Gear match. The pacing was splendid, some hot spots, good finish. I still think FTR and the Lucha Brothers have much better matches, but this was structured well. Everyone looked good here, but Rey Fenix is just incredible. In every match he hits a move I didn't even know existed. *4*

2827.12.2022jboyaquar7.0After the sound but undynamic-ordinary Main Event of Dynamite, perhaps it was necessary to have these two exciting, thoughtful teams open Rampage. They certainly woke the crowd-up w/ the above-average action and a couple of quality heel near-fall finishes. Fenix didn't look supremely confident within his movements so here's hoping his body holds-up as the Lucha Bros continue their tag-team reign. 3 3/8 - 2/5

3226.09.2022TheLegitBoss8.0Very good tag team match between the Lucha Brothers and FTR right here, the typical match we see every time between them with the usual dynamic they employ and that's not a criticism at all as they master their subject to perfection, which won't surprise anyone as they're two of the best teams on the planet. I loved their Full Gear match, less so their first Rampage one, but both were very good matches that suffered from the same problem: an overly anti-climactic finish that didn't match the excellent action that was on offer and I thought that was a shame. Here nothing of that since the finish is clean, the champions come out very strong from all that and everything was irreproachable from the beginning to the end except for some small mistakes here and there. But overall the execution was great, they have a very good chemistry all together and know how to play with a crowd (which was particularly hot here) so everything was on point and I liked that.

Toller Start in die Show

5512.01.2022cal90998.0I haven't been big on FTR in AEW, but this match gave us a glimpse of the prime NXT version of FTR. Really enjoyable. ****
5609.01.2022TSwifty6.0This was a pretty good match and easily the best match of the FTR/Lucha Bros feud. I'm definitely in the group that thinks these teams don't have much chemistry together and i think that showed again here. There were several awkward moments and exchanges, and the styles clash of ground work vs high-flying doesn't click like it does for others who have this dynamic such as Ospreay/Sabre. Fenix was the MVP here as he's extremely fun to watch as he hits all his strikes and acrobatics. FTR definitely stepped up in the final third as both teams had some good exchanges and nearfalls. The Eddie tribute spots are so overdone it's ridiculous. Of course there was more overbooking with belt shots but at least half of them worked this time. Quite decent and hopefully both teams move onto something better. Ideally Lucha Bros/ReDragon and FTR/Briscoes. ***1/4

6923.12.2021Zakaria Guigui8.0A fast-paced matchup with Rey Fenix killing it he was so focus on taking revenge on Dax & Cash, I liked the finish that pumped up the crowd! But I'm still thinking FTR vs Lucha Bros can be so much more than what we have seen thus far, they can easily create an all-time classic given their two extreme opposite style! This match was a proof they're able to produce great stuff in the ring!

7122.12.2021BH628.0Not great as their last encounter but this was almost equal stuff, just without the cringy finish. Both teams were great at what they're doing as they put on some great spots. The legit finish add something good to their feud, maybe it's end, I hope for. The final minutes were great.

9114.12.2021GonzoAppreciator8.0Another dependably great match from these two teams. Though I hope this is the end of their feud as I would like to see the Lucha Bros wrestle someone else for a while. I especially liked that roll into the gory bomb spot with Wheeler and Fenix.

9413.12.2021AmericanNumbers9.0These are 2 great tag teams that have horrible chemistry with each other. This, however is the best match they've had. Phoenix made this match at the end. I'd put it at 4.5 stars and I'm hoping they both move on to other feuds now. Black/King for Lucha maybe or Redragon. Briscoes for FTR.
9513.12.2021gabad1234 Amazing match. Will rate it 10 once this thing allows me to rate but absolutely incredible. Was there in person

9813.12.2021arrancar7.0The best of their matches so far. Fenix was naturally the star once again, with all his crazy acrobatics being performed flawlessly. It would all be more impactful if he didn't do 80% of the same spots in every match he has, but it's hard to not still be massively impressed by what he's capable of. Penta was the charisma machine for their team as usual, able to impress with his signature expressions and gestures, plus of course also his with his signature strikes and the various ways he would help set-up some of Fenix's spots. FTR were booked the same way they usually are: as goofy heels who get overwhelmed by the skills of the babyfaces and have to rely on underhanded tactics to have any success. This booking structure sadly meant that FTR spent a lot of the first half just making goofy faces as the Lucha Bros effortlessly overwhelmed them with various crazy stunts, which didn't make them look very cool. I at least enjoyed their standard heel work once they gained control, as their character work was entertaining and I liked their strategic methods for isolating the champs from each other and then grinding them down via various legal and illegal means. There were a handful of rather awkward moments throughout the match where it was clear that the two teams weren't always on the same page, causing one or both of the wrestlers involved to have to pause and grab a random hold before figuring out what they were actually meant to do. Those moments didn't ruin the match or anything, of course, but they definitely lifted the veil and were thus quite annoying and disappointing. The match thankfully continued to be enjoyable all throughout the rest of the second half, including the even more action-packed finishing stretch which featured quite a few creative interactions. Things like the constant Eddie references are really, really old at this point, and I just cringed seeing them thrown out here for the sake of a cheap pops. Fenix's belt-shot spot was pretty bad anyways, since he was clearly looking behind him seconds before "accidentally" clocking Dax, though Dax's own belt-shot spot after Fenix's attempted Frog Splash was actually very surprising and very well-timed, resulting in a convincing near fall. More moments like that would have been greatly appreciated, but given that this was only a Rampage opener it's not like they were going to go as all out as they could have. ***1/4
