Akio vs. Paul London

[7.0] "Famous for an all-time scary bump, this pushes a serious pace across its five minute runtime. It's not just an onslaught of high spots either, though they are in attendance, sharing some spotlight with outright clobbering. It's a helluva time, ideal C-Show action. ***1/4"

[8.0] "God damn, for a five minute match this is still awesome. London and Akio beat the hell out of each other here. Now that we are currently in an era where so many matches are unnecessarily bloated, this honestly feels like a breath of fresh air in a lot of ways. The match is so physical that it feels perfectly believable that it would end quickly, and without either man even connecting with one of their finishers at that. It makes it feel like the hard-hitting action actually has a sense of consequence to it. There is also, of course, London's infamous bump that received a lot of attention at the time (especially for a Velocity match). Great match where they really made the most out of the time they had."

[7.0] "As a Velocity diehard, I'm so happy to be able to revisit these matches. This was outrageously good. The striking sequence was one of the best things I've seen in a WWE ring in a long time, especially for that time. Akio and Paul London tore into each other, with the latter's chest turning to ground beef by the end. They also delivered a shocking finish that continued the trend of different moves ending different matches in this rivalry, which I personally love. 3.75 stars, 7.5 out of 10. This was a damn good match that flirted with greatness."

[7.0] "This is a very different match from their other matchups but the action is just as good. Here it's much shorter and the pace is much faster, it was a kind of a spotfest in a short-time limit and they connected very well as usual. I think I preferred their other matches which were longer and better constructed but here it was an enjoyable little bout between Akio and London."

[6.0] "For a Velocity match this was pretty good. Fast pace, good near falls and a nasty bump from Paul London."

[8.0] "This is about as crazy of a 5 minute match as you will ever see really, especially on a show like 'Velocity' of all places. Honestly a must-see match despite its short length--there's just so much intensity packed into such a short amount of time. And some really memorable spots..."

[4.0] "Aside from being a fast and short sprint (and dare i say an astounding botch whom almost break London's neck), there is not too much else to remember about this spot affair; unfortunately, the crowd seems mostly dead. ** - **1/4"
