427.06.2025OwenEdwards9.0To some degree, the joy in this is in the watching, and it's hard to communicate exactly why beyond that. There's the still-fresh gimmick combining with an immaculate first half starring 16 of the best stars in lucha at the time (even if one or two are a bit overaged and one or two aren't really some of the best stars in lucha) working technical sections. There's the relentless hatred between Casas and Santito which ends with a Double DQ. There's the heroic showing of Felino, battling 1-vs-5 to take the win (which is, if anything, underplayed). The Wagner Bros are at their most irritating and that's excellent. There are so many beautiful little moments, both in the technical opening segment and then the extended finishing run - Satanico, Dragon, Atlantis, and Dandy, especially, are all a delight to watch in their own categories, and really that could be extended to cover everyone else, too. Everyone looks like a star. Really excellent. 4.5/5

1023.02.2025Ariak7.0This takes a long time to actually get interesting in my opinion and then really this feels like a very drawn out match with some isolated great moments. Ultimo Dragon making it to the very end despite not being a CMLL guy was really interesting to me.

1626.07.2024RealGrapsThomsen9.0This was honestly incredible. The crowd was very engaged although the match did get slightly hard to follow at times.
1718.03.2024dysboat9.0This match can be a little hard to follow at times and the sheer amount of people to keep track of makes it hard for there to be a lot of heat, but the action is generally really great and there are plenty of tense or exciting moments. Standout performers in my opinion are Brazo de Oro, Dr. Wager jr. and Ultimo Dragon, but truly everybody is putting in work here.

2307.10.2023RuSyxx8.0This was a very good match, and was genuinely pretty engaging throughout. There was always something of note happening in the ring and I really can't fault much of any of it. I did find the spot where they count two but it was clear there was a kick out to be odd. I'm a newer viewer to lucha (and really older wrestling content outside of the west) so maybe that was common? Word of the official is law, but it kind of left a weird taste for me for the rest. It didn't ruin the match obviously, but it was a weird moment for me that briefly took me out in a match full of great straightforward wrestling.

4225.04.2021Mizzle Assault Ant10.0Phenomenal match, it's got a similar appeal to a Royal Rumble or a really good Survivor Series match, but with so much lucha goodness that I can't even, I love it. Special props to Dandy, Satanico, Negro Casas, and Silver King, and a lot of other luchadors did amazingly well. I was surprised to see such a strong push for Felino but he did a very good job in the final stretch.
4323.03.2021BEER CAT10.0A forty-minute smash cut of everything good about 1997 CMLL. There's least a dozen one-man performances I could single out as being scintillating, but the important thing is everyone is great, the action never dips below red-hot and the Santito/Negro Casas stand out as the "best thing" amidst a sea of "best things". Even Kevin Quinn brings the goods, God bless him What little has been written about this match in English exists in conversations like "Match of the Decade", "Best Match Ever", and so on. If you know 90's lucha and haven't watched this, jump on it immediately. Bet you won't see the finish coming. If you know nothing about anybody in this match, take the time and see if you don't come away with three or four new favorite wrestlers.
4421.11.2019Caas10.0The greatest torneo cibernetico of all time. Felino wins after a lengthy match that is 120% workrate. Highly recommended for lucha fans, one of my personal favourites. *****
