[7.0] "This was a pretty good match. Von Wagner was one of those long term projects that WWE had in developmental for years. It's not hard to see why because at first glance he looks exactly like the kind of guy Vince McMahon in terms of his size. Kyle O'Reilly was on his way out of WWE, knowing that there's no way Vince would push him in NXT or on the main roster the same way Triple H did during the Black and Gold era of NXT. This was in fact his last match and give him credit, he did his best to put Wagner over. This is still one of Von Wagner's best matches, ending with Wagner hitting him over and over again with the steel cage door, writing off O'Reilly in the process. ***1/2"
[3.0] "Blegh. This was really boring and padded through the whole 15 minutes. Kyle O'Reilly completely carried this. Honestly, I'm just happy he's back in reDRagon now, lol."
[5.0] "Complete carry job from Kyle O'Reilly, who did his very best to make a green, "vanilla beefcake" opponent look passable. The steel cage stipulation also seemed carefully chosen not to expose Von Wagner's obvious weaknesses. Ultimately, though, it wasn't able to lift him to anything above okay. Seriously sad way for O'Reilly to leave NXT."
[7.0] "A cage match like this plays to Von Wagner's strengths, and O'Reilly did a great job of putting him over on the way out. It's a classic power vs skill match, and while there was no real doubt over the result, they did a good job of making you wonder how it would happen. A fine farewell for O'Reilly."
[7.0] "Good cage match thanks to Kyle O'Reilly putting in a shift, and Von Wagner got positioned as the man who ran O'Reilly out of NXT, which should get him some big heel heat for a while. Problem for Wagner is that there aren't many like O'Reilly left who can continue to guide him."
[8.0] "Rock-solid opener between O'Reilly and Wagner which marks Kyle's last match in WWE as his contract is now down and it's pretty obvious that this was a farewell for him here, he can be proud of himself as he leaves as one of the best competitors in NXT history. He's had a lot of great matches whether it be in singles or in tag team action, and he leaves with his head held high as he puts one of the company's new projects in the spotlight. Some will say it's a disappointing ending for him but I disagree, the creative team had given him the mission to help Wagner and he did it perfectly by teaming with him and then losing in a totally clean way for him. And I think Wagner is pretty underrated by some, personally I think he's very cool. This match solidified Wagner as a heel, O'Reilly's performance was tremendous and the crowd was into it, another good cage match this week."
