[4.0] "Cody and Andrade in a street fight that didn't need to be a street fight. The crowd, even in Cody's hometown, couldn't get behind him. Cody knew his time was up in this promotion, I think. But I've not seen a reason why these two hated each other so much, they needed to settle it in a street fight. But whatever, without that flaming table pot, it sucked."
[4.0] "Very bland, confusing, generic and uninspired. Both can do much better, Cody's character was bad at that time and seeing him fail everything he tries to achieve with his character is painful. The finish is obviously screwed, cherry on the sad cake."
[8.0] "This was a really good street fight: they used a lot of weapons and the action was very fun with plenty of good spots and moments. The ending is, perhaps, the best one with the avalanche through the flaming table. Easily one of Aew's most iconic moments. 8/10 - 4*/5*"
[4.0] "I haven't been into Andrade at all in AEW and Cody Rhodes whole thing at this point was pretty bad, a lot of weapons and stuff and a pretty insane finish with the flaming table but it doesn't make that much sense that he'd set himself on fire to win. I think he was trying to win back the crowd with these types of matches he being Cody."
[6.0] "Smart to have Andrade interrupt Cody-Jesus's entrance as even in his hometown, very few AEW fans want to cheer Cody Rhodes. I wonder if Cody-Brandi have ever spent time with Harry-Meghan.? . Andrade's been on-fire for the past month & his match w/ Pac was my favorite of the four AEW shows I attended in November '21. Despite its length and Cody's artificial expressions and falsities (throwing aside the sledgehammer, yea right U WWE mark, ) there were plenty of gimmicks, crowd involvement and humorous situations, (ie giggling at mark Jose running down shirtless so he could later gawk at himself at how good his chest looked on TV, ) to keep me entertained, but this wasn't the smoothest of executions, the lasting flame on Cody's shoulder evidence of that. 3 1/6 - 1/4"
[8.0] "Very fun Street Fight between Cody and Andrade which was a hundred times better than their terrible first encounter and this time was exactly what it was supposed to be as this is what a Street Fight should look like, Andrade coming in a badass outfit and the two of them warring in and out of the ring with lots of weapons. Plenty of big spots too obviously, pretty good pace and lots of entertainment with the two performing super well and sharing a solid chemistry together. I liked that neither of them put any limits on themselves, they really brawled and hit like real men taking real bumps for the sole purpose of entertaining us. The thing that divides the fans is obviously that ending with the table on fire which was unnecessary but honestly this the most Cody Rhodes thing possible and I love seeing him like that, if they both agreed to do that we have nothing to say and it was executed perfectly. Really the style of match that I enjoy, it delivered."
[4.0] "As for me, the match had a very slow start. For some reason, the same Cage and Starks, god forgive me, Rose and Gonzalez showed much more interesting things in such a match. Crooked Moonsalt in the fan zone, again this is Cody's desire to show off (hammer), what he did well, tin for how long. And of course the matter is in the end. I understand that the safety of your opponent during the match is above all, but... Couldn't the same Brandi have pushed the table away, knowing what spot was planned and realizing that Cody didn't have enough space? Although yes, knowing Brandy's skills in the ring, she can only set fire to tables. **"
[4.0] "This match sounds way cooler on paper than it actually is. They started with a sloppy fight in the crowd where Cody did a contrived moonsault for no reason. Cody's back looks like it's peeling because of the fire retardant gel. There's a lot of brawling and weapon spots but not a lot of bumps. There was one ridiculous moment where Cody takes a sledgehammer and a golden shovel from out under the ring, Jesus Christ that's some smart mark trash if I've even seen it. Cody is doing literally every babyface spot possible and it's failing miserably. I'm sure that's his intention and honestly I love it. I enjoy Cody's character work and I'm happy to see he's pissing off so many people but he's booking himself in such an invincible, self-congratulatory way it hurts his matches. The finish was embarrassingly awful. Maybe one of the worst finishes to a match ever, I'm not sure. Out of all the moves Cody decides to do a reverse suplex off the top rope through a flaming table (If this worked Andrade would've landed on his face and chest in the flames) but Cody takes all of the impact and Andrade lands on his feet. Cody is officially invincible. First he no sells the Black Mass, now a flaming table. Not an entirely bad match but there's some really awful stuff here. **"
[5.0] "Pretty average all around, two wrestlers who are capable of a lot more and seem completely disconnected with the best version of themselves in the ring, Brandi getting involved and accidentally putting Cody in trouble should be a running gag for unintentional comedy."
[8.0] "Not the best hardcore match by any means but still both guys really tried to put on a show. Andrade was visibly aggressive which I always appreciate in a match like this and Cody was vintage over the top with the blading and flaming table spot. Messy but entertaining. ****"
[4.0] "At what point did the adults involved in this match decide that the Rhodes-El Idolo feud was so incredibly hot that it needed a flaming table spot' That was an asinine conclusion to a match that didn't need to happen and was clearly only there so Cody could star in his hometown. There was nothing about the feud to this point, which is really just an offshoot of Rhodes' program with Malakai Black, that suggested it needed to go to that extremes of that spot. There were an infinite number of finishes that it could have gone with that would have been safer, could still have been spectacular, and would have given Rhodes the win. Instead, we got the flashy, over-the-top conclusion. It's a shame, too, because the brawl leading up to it was really good. It was probably Rhodes' best match in months and Andrade's finest since the first match with Pac. It was a good, hardcore brawl that actually managed to turn the hostile hometown crowd back in Cody's favor. Rhodes was great, showing the appropriate emotion. He was passionate, fed off the positive reaction and brought the figurative fire to the match. The physicality was on-point and El Idolo was the perfect opponent for him to have this match with."
"***3/4 It's a shame because Andrade El Idalo looked excellent here, as normal, and the two executed some truly great spots for a hardcore match. I wanted to give it ****1/4, but the table spot was a mess. The psychology of it was totally off and the peeling fire repellant off Cody's back gave it away. It looked ridiculous, but I do think they could have somewhat compensated for it if Andrade kept targeting Cody's back, thus giving an alternative explanation for his peeling back. Instead, it just felt random and difficult for commentary to explain."
[7.0] "Fun plunder match with a hilarious Brandi Rhodes run in where she comes out in disguise for a No DQ match. Maybe there was a reason why but I don't want to know, it's better this way. Flaming table was cool."
[5.0] "Another references to WWE which, it seems, will never end. Then Cody himself lies down on the table, and then he falls into the fire. Very strange action. Not a bad match, but with a bunch of moments spoiling the impression."
[7.0] "Cody being Cody but that was a big bunch of fun. Quite a nice brawl as Rhodes doesn't give a shit at what people are thinking of him. Golden shovel and sledgehammer's sequences were fun. Last spot was mad, Rhodes is a tough motherfucker as well as Andrade, he took some big bumps here, his gear was great as well, street fight but be elegant at first."
[4.0] "Really fun car crash match until quite possibly the dumbest finish to a match I've ever seen, at least in AEW. (even worse than the Exploding Barbed Wire Deathmatch, somehow) Cody Rhodes is standing in front of a table on fire and decides to give Andrade an avalanche reverse suplex of all moves and totally takes the brunt of the impact and catches himself on fire. Between this and that Crossroads off the apron to Malakai Black, I'm pretty sure Cody Rhodes (the character) doesn't understand how table moves work lmao. Props to Cody for taking the bump but it makes him look like a complete moron."
[8.0] "A lot of typical Cody stuff in this match which worked for me, though sometimes it doesn't. It was fun to see Andrade in this kind of match and absolutely kill it."
[5.0] "While the action was great, the booking was idiotic. These two didn't build enough storyline that was appropriate 4 a No DQ match. Add in to that a flashy botch finish with the WRONG MAN WINNING. Cody was grasping for chance at redemption and although he worked hard, many of the fans still reject him. Andrade should have won and Creative could have build a strong long term redemption story for Cody. **1/2"
[8.0] "This was a really great street fight with a lot of fun spots. Obviously, the highlight of the match was the finish with the flaming table, though I wish Cody had moved the table a bit further back from the corner before he hit that suplex."
[9.0] "This is not without it's nitpicks but I would say one more great TV match to knock off a strong episode of Dynamite. Both guys really went at it hard here, and while the flaming table spot might not have gone off perfectly, it was still a pretty incredible visual."
[8.0] "Cody Rhodes will do anything once, and he scratched "flaming table bump" off his bucket list. A pretty good hardcore match by any metric before that with a few tongue-in-cheek moments based on weapon usage, but the finish got the pop and buzz they wanted and it worked. ***1/2+"
[5.0] "If you only read about this match, with its weapon use, Arn falling off the stage, Jose showing that he's actually got a good build under that shirt, and a flaming table to cap it off, you really wouldn't think it was a boring match. But it was. The match was so dull that my mind actually started to wander, and I wondered why I had liked Eddie Edwards vs Moose recently but not this' What separates a good plunder brawl from a boring one' I'm still not entirely sure, but I think the absence of bumps in favour of weapon spots and the fact that these two had barely even spoken to each other by the time they wanted to kill each other made the whole thing feel kind of flat. I'm still hoping they book Cody as a heel who doesn't know he's a heel instead of having him turn outright."
[8.0] "Stupid match. Which means it was very entertaining. Of all the things that happened in this match, Jose the Assistant being surprisingly ripped and coming out with a taser was somehow the best."
[7.0] "Fun match and surprisingly enjoyable given the fact that Cody was in it. Maybe a few too many spots, with an unnecessary (yet entertaining) table spot at the end of the match. I found myself enjoying the action, though. Cody's obviously ramping up for a heel turn."
[8.0] "Highly enjoyable clusterfuck with some nasty shots and a crazy burning table finish. Cody ate nearly all off it that didn't stop Andrade from getting a flame on him either."
[8.0] "This was a brutal war that had me on the edge of my seat. Andrade El Idolo is in the conversation when discussing the best wrestlers on the planet and Cody Rhodes is still one of the better wrestlers on the roster. There were some things that took me out of it, such as breaking kayfabe mid-match and Cody being the one to go through the table instead of Andrade, but there were also plenty of redeeming qualities. A worthy main even that was as violent as advertised. 4 stars, 8 out of 10."

[3.0] "This match was bad. It looked like a WWE Extreme Rules main event which only WWE fans would like, but, for some reason, the AEW fans liked it too. Cody is one of the worst things on AEW TV right now. He looks like a parody of great wrestlers who are mainstream stars like The Rock or Hulk Hogan, and everything he does HAS to be a larger than life moment. Cody can't have a normal match, every match he have is the Starrcade main event in his head. I like Andrade but he is a goofy in AEW."

[8.0] "This was a good brawl that was very entertaining and it allowed both men to shine. Cody bleeding in every match with a stipulation is over done and he needs to seriously stop doing that cross Rhodes spot on to tables as he takes it more than the person receiving it.***3/4"
[8.0] "I'll admit, I wondered if Cody was self aware but after the sledgehammer and golden shovel, he has to be. Street Fights / stipulation matches are not really my thing but this was very entertaining. Cody won with help which isn't really a babyface move so I'll let it play out. Flaming table was pretty nuts, shame it could've looked better if the table wasn't so close. ***3/4"
[5.0] "It was a brawl, and not a bad one as far as those things go, but it's just impossible to care about either of the participants. Cody makes everything he touches worse, and Andrade is dull apart from occasional bits of flippy shit, which barely happened in this match. There were plenty of decent spots to keep it watchable, though, but this wasn't really violent enough for a true no-rules match, nor did it have enough wrestling to be interesting on those grounds. If you like either participant or this style of match you'll probably get much more out of it than I did, though. It would have got a better rating if Cody had burned more, though."
[10.0] "Really fun and chaotic match. Combined with a flaming table spot, this was crazy. I'll never understand the hate for Cody, the dude will do anything to entertain the crowd."
[10.0] "Cody is crazy, people booing him will be remembered as a moment of stupidity in a couple of years. But this is life. Against this, Cody and Andrade delivered an amazing main event, ending with a memorable spot."
[9.0] "This match gets a 9 from me it was beautiful how the brawl started on the outside and to be honest this match was just a really big gory spot fest that had the crowd really engaged in it and the ending with the fire table spot and Brandi returning to help Cody when and set up the flaming table was the best way to end this match and end the show on a very memorable note in my opinion."
[7.0] "This was a fun brawl with some cool spots, but the pace slowed at a lot of points and there was a little too much focus on Arn and Jose. Cody blading is boring and overdone, but the finish was unique at least, even if it didn't look like it hit Andrade at all. I liked Cody bringing in a literal golden shovel, though it's a bit meta. Pretty good overall but far from perfect. [***1/4]"
[8.0] "A mess of a match but in the best way. Andrade wasn't pulling any punches (or laptops) and looked vicious throughout. The flaming table spot might be the most fire I've seen in a table flaming spot ever and the after effects on Cody and Andrade were gnarly. As dull as Cody's stuff has been lately, this was a nice reminder that he can sometimes deliver."
