[5.0] "Just ok. Way too many dumbs spots where Dakota was literally waiting for Kay Lee Ray to get up. Even before that it never felt like they hit the second gear."
[6.0] "A good ladder match to open the show, it was a bit random to me but Dakota Kai and Kay Lee Ray are both very good workers so they obviously would do a good contest. The stipulation was well used in my opinion, but I'm a bit disappointed by the result. ***1/4"
[8.0] "The only thing I wasn't crazy about here was Kay Lee Ray winning, as it means a second straight year of the babyface team having the advantage in the women's WarGames match, but this was KLR and Dakota Kai, two of the best wrestlers in the world, and this was a great match that happened to incorporate ladders. Hope one day they're given 20 minutes on a PPV/Network special to see what magic they're truly capable of."
[8.0] "Dakota Kai is incredible. Trapping only one leg in the Tree of Woe to make Kay Lee Ray choose between damaging her knee and taking the Double Foot Stomp was brilliant. There was obviously more to this brutal encounter between two of the best in the world, but that was one of the best moves I have seen this year. Overall, all the credit goes to both competitors for what truly was a great match. Kay Lee Ray is a star in the making and Kai is already one of the top stars on NXT. With a Ladder Match as their platform for brutality, these two took things to incredible heights both literally and figuratively. Nonstop brutal offense in pursuit of the War Games advantage. 4.25 stars, 8.5 out of 10. What a freaking battle."
[7.0] "Good match that I feel could have been better with a bit more time to breathe. The match felt a bit rushed toward the end for me. They still had a number of good sequences and good brawling. There was not a lot in the way of ladder involvement but it made for an enjoyable brawl. I understand wanting to keep KLR's streak alive but face advantage in War Games is an odd choice every time."
[7.0] "A good opener between two people who can actually wrestle is something they should try more, it's really not rocket science. There were some pretty nasty bumps in this. The wrong woman won because faces having the advantage makes no sense and this Dakota ''crazy'' gimmick is dumb as shit. Apart from that yeah pretty good! ***1/2"
[10.0] "Hell of a start for the show. These two have great chemistry, and it was shown throughout this whole match. They didn't rely a lot in using the ladders as weapons, and instead they used them to have a more physical match, which is much appreciated since not every day we see such a raw but flawless display of talent in the ring, specially in the women's division. Anyway, best spots for me were the start with Kaylee's swantom to the outside, which got the crowd going crazy from the beginning of the bout, and Dakota's insane stomps from the top of the ladder. Both women had the opportunity to shine, and they took full advantage of it. This also keeps Kay Lee Ray's momentum in the show going as she's very over with the crowd as well as she's unbeaten in singles competition in NXT 2.0."
[8.0] "This starts with a massive brawl between all 8 members of the Wargames team, before things finally calm down slightly to start the actual match. It's a ladder match, which means lots of big spots onto the ladders rather than much actual wrestling - but both of these women are more than capable of brawling and doing high flying moves, making it fun and hard hitting. It had a slightly surprising ending, as the heels almost always get the advantage going into a Wargames match."
[8.0] "Really good opener. Started with a brawl and then we got a bunch of nasty looking spots. The suicide dive pushed the back of Kai's head right into the commentary desk. Kai's double stomp on the apron was awesome, as was the one off the ladder. There weren't a lot of ladder spots which was surprising but what we got more than made up for it. Kay Lee Ray winning is kind of surprising as they usually give the "advantage" to the heels, but I understand wanting to keep Kay Lee's undefeated streak on 2. 0 intact. Anyways good opener. [***3/4]"
