Chaparita Asari vs. Kyoko Inoue

[8.0] "Brutally awesome short bout. This was apart of the 1996 GP, of which most of the matches included in it were clipped to a few minutes. This one is shown in full. Match starts off with a pretty goofy but fun spot of Inoue making fun of Asari's height by trying to do a standard lock up, even getting a chair to stand on after she goes to the top rope, which ends naturally in her getting smacked with a flying clothesline. This advantage doesn't last long through as Inoue quickly takes over with some big power moves. Despite some good counters by Asari, she can't really get any sustained advantage against her far larger foe, especially when she can literally get ragdolled around, like when Inoue gets a huge big swing on her that looked incredibly brutal, dumping her at the end of it. Same goes for her slapping on a Torture Rack before literally throwing Arari off and into a backbreaker, or just dumping her in the corner turnbuckle with no abandon, just some great offence on her part. Inoue does get some offence of her own but it isn't nearly as interesting: lots of agility but doesn't look particularly impactful most of the time and tends to wiff, through gets better in the next half when she's doing big dives to the outside and throwing herself around. At one point she takes a German suplex from the second rope and smacks her head right off the canvas in a pretty disgusting looking spot as well. But yeah, this is a really neatly paced David v Goliath bout, with both women pulling out some pretty nasty shots and counters on the other whenever necessary. Asari's hope spots are mostly good and Inoue's offence: especially the finish, which has her nail a massive lariat that sends Asari spinning to the mat: is uber impactful and really gets a lot of sympathy for her opponent rather easily. Real hidden gem here."
