2 | 18.03.2025 | Janii | 6.0 | To me, Endo was pretty hit or miss this tournament and this performance of his was another miss to me, it seemed so uninspired. Whenever he was on top it was rather dull, and Ueno didn't do much of substance either. The action was undeniably good, especially Ueno did some impressive things, but this fight just lacked any passion fire. |
3 | 10.07.2024 | FakeNoobe | 8.0 | Tetsuya Endo and Yuki Ueno have decent chemistry in the ring. They are slowly getting better. This match was pretty fun to watch. I like all the flips and moves. I do think there was probably too many in the match and it started becoming a little bit unbelievable because they stopped selling. Overall I would give the match 8/10. |

5 | 02.07.2023 | jboyaquar | 6.0 | As soon as YU outstretched his hand, symbolizing company comradeship, and the camera focused in on TE's reaction, I knew YU would win. It was a long year ago after watching the terrible Ueno/Sasaki secondary title match from Kawasaki that I felt YU would be pushed to the tournament final and then I wasn't certain I would root for that result. Today I feel equally ambivalent but would agree that at-all-times one of a company's major responsibilities to itself is to create new stars. And Yuki has improved over leaps & bounds the past couple of years. Personally his histrionics, most notably his grunting, are a bit disorientingly gender-bending, and are a bit of a turn-off, but I do believe he has earned an opportunity to share the spotlight even-if winning DDT's most prestigious tournament might be a step too-far. Frankly, within the weaker A-block, I could justify Hino-Endo or Ueno as the one to face the B-block winner. Perhaps I'm just disappointed YO will not be in the final as I felt he was the tournament MVP. With regards to the match, these two are built so alike and are also similarly accustomed to the underdog role that they don't provide the best contrast to each-other. The action was seamless and their chemistry is better than before, but it's hard to find superlatives to praise their matches with. I find myself in accord with 'MakaiClub's' comments about a lack of glue, however I also believe the scripting of how YU grabbed victory in the throes of defeat, especially against Hino & Akiyama, gives him the one-up on someone like Endo who was fetishistic about his roll-ups. Fine block final and match-finish as YU's dropkicks sent a teetering Endo over-the-edge, but it can't compete with the better matches of the tournament. 3 1/6 - 1/4 |

9 | 04.04.2022 | BH62 | 8.0 | A great story. Endo saw himself in the finals against Takeshita, he was then cocky as Endo took the advantage of it. I felt like, at some moments, that Endo wanted to humiliate his opponent. Endo is just four years older, but that was a dual of generations as well. Big strikes, big moves, intensity climbing up. That was superb. Just the exchanges of Canadian Destroyer pissed me off, but nevermind. The rest was smartly done. Some good nearfalls and a great finish. |

15 | 06.12.2021 | Milquetoast | 9.0 | I really liked this match for some reason. Ueno and Endo are both excellent wrestlers and the stuff they did was really good. I cannot really explain why, but this match got me completely with it and I enjoyed every second of it. 9/10 |

18 | 29.11.2021 | GoldLiger | 7.0 | A very high-stakes match where if Endo wins, he takes a dominant block win, while Ueno winning would have him win the block off a complicated 4-way tiebreaker in results. Ueno is an exceptional underdog, but Endo might not be the best guy to work him over given that he's been in the underdog spot for most of his own matches in this tournament. There's some good stuff here, but outside of Ueno's eventual flurries from underneath this doesn't really grab you, it's just a well-paced tournament semi-final. Some of the fighting spirit stuff actually gets a little much, like Endo barely selling a Destroyer, but then Endo catching the rana into the Boston Crab on the floor was fucking awesome. Nice, well-done finish as well. This was very good wrestling but felt a little underwhelming for its spot on the card (it deserved that spot, kayfabe-wise, though). ***1/2 |

24 | 24.11.2021 | Makai Club | 6.0 | This had its strengths on top of its weaknesses. It was a good main event with a ton of stakes that make sense within how the promotion has booked Ueno for the past two years. Ueno is, again, a strong underdog, giving a good performance that kept within that spirit but still made his win come off as definitive. Endo was solid as well as the established wrestler. What this lacked was the glue to hold the good performances and spots together to make this a true dramatic contest like HARASHIMA/Okabayashi was. *** |

34 | 22.11.2021 | seriousbusiness | 8.0 | There is a lot of symbolism just going into this match as it's Takeshita's former tag partner and longtime rival against someone who DDT clearly see as a future cornerstone and has been protected enough to keep that idea relevant. I do find it interesting that Ueno is being thrown into the deep end against Takeshita who is arguably at his kayfabe strongest after a very successful tournament run. I imagine Ueno will fight for his life just as he did in this match and always does in his matches. He's arguably the most compelling wrestler in the promotion right now. |

38 | 22.11.2021 | PorcoRosso1 | 8.0 | Endo finally found his groove again. He's had a disappointing tournament IMO and with Yuki here they put on a good match to end an excellent tournament. Tetsuya plays the bully role well here and Yuki is just the greatest wrestler the promotion has so of course he rises to the occasion. I didn't like the Canadian destroyer exchange or weird selling Endo did for the dropkicks at the end. I have never seen a huricanrana attempt from the ring to the floor be countered into a Boston crab, that was cool. A good match to end a great tournament, almost a 9 I'll go ****1/4 |
39 | 22.11.2021 | NikoKillbain | 7.0 | Not each other's best opponents, no ultra chemisty. I also don't like Ueno's frantic underdog character, complete with ugly noises. Endo looked pretty good though, stepping up his bully vibe towards the end. |
40 | 21.11.2021 | No One | 8.0 | Excellent job throughout this amazing tournament of building Yuki Ueno up as the ultimate Underdog (Ueno vs. Hino was a MOTYC to me, BTW). He is Rocky Balboa, and he is about to face "Apollo Creed", who is being played by the great Konosuke Takeshita. Both are members of the dominant 37KAMIINA faction as well. Rating for this match: **** |
41 | 21.11.2021 | Mohabrok | 9.0 | Great match and I loved it, the focus on the back from Endo was great and great selling from Ueno Too, some really good exchanges between the two with a unique finish |
42 | 21.11.2021 | CFOS | 8.0 | DDT D-Ou Grand Prix 2021 2 : That match was pretty cool to finish the show. The exchanges were great and both showed great things. I'm still blow up by the dropkick exchanges on the head at the end, I don't know how they did that but that was impressive. CFØS Ratings : **** |
