02.12.2025 | Styles619 | 7.0 | This was a pretty good match. I said it when I reviewed their match in 2014 and I'll say it again here. AJ Styles and Rob Van Dam didn't have great chemistry together, at least from the 3 singles matches that they've had together. Maybe if this match took place in the mid 00's I would feel differently, but there was always something to be desired after their matches were over. Now of the 3, this was the best one, as not only were they younger than in 2014 but also had more time than their TV match where RVD won the TNA Championship. Here AJ was trying to get the belt back and for the most part had a clean match. Ric Flair was booted from ringside early on so we didn't anything in the way of interference after that. I also think that there was a certain gear that these two didn't get out of, like they were maintaining a pace instead of speeding things up when they should have. Flair was on commentary for most of the match and when he tried to get involved in the end, Jay Lethal came out to stop him. RVD won with the 5 Star Frog Splash and retained the title, while Lethal's involvement helped set up his next two PPV matches, which would be big marquee matches for him. ***1/2

16.10.2025 | GoogleHomeUce | 10.0 | The only ever one on one singles bout in professional wrestling with it being Rob Van Dam vs AJ Styles, the phenomenal one uce. Great match these guys put on, it's deserving of a career highlight for both men and I respectfully am showing the appreciation they both achieved in there respective professional wrestling careers. Very good overall match up man. Hopefully someone else can help get it to the minimum 7.00/10.0 rating.
19.05.2025 | benny5bellys | 6.0 | I am not sure asking RVD to go this long really plays to his strengths in 2010. You also get a cut away to Flair on commentary every 83 seconds. The action was fine but of course you are just sitting around until the interference. Clearly Triple H watches classic TNA for his booking inspiration.
05.05.2025 | Mr Bungle | 5.0 | This felt agonizingly slow and long, starting out with a lot of pointless stalling, posing, trash-talking, and more posing. Styles dominates most of the match because he's the heel, but his work on top was aimless and generic. Styles just works so much better as a babyface and feels unnatural as a heel, as this match proves. Whenever RVD starts to build momentum, he does his posing schtick and Styles immediately cuts him off and regains control of the match. This made RVD look like a complete idiot, and Ric Flair (who is doing commentary) even points out that RVD's posing is giving Styles the opportunity to counter RVD's next move. The finish felt anticlimactic and not worth it given the 24-minute slog preceding it. The problem here is that Styles barely did anything interesting because he's the heel and didn't want fans to cheer for him, and RVD barely did anything interesting because he seemingly didn't care, yet they still wanted to go out and have a long 25-minute main event.

19.01.2025 | RandomWrestlingReview | 7.0 | I liked the 'big fight feel' beforehand, I enjoyed the slow build, the throwing out of Ric Flair and then some of the very smooth exchanges that transpired afterwards. Had this had a dramatic element to it, towards the end, I'd have given this higher than I did but unfortunately, the curse of TNA strikes again- firstly with Ric Flair's needless return to the ring and Jay Lethal stopping him from getting involved by applying a figure 4 leglock on the entrance ramp, and then secondly by the anticlimatic finish- this needed another 2 minutes, with a bit of drama thrown in, and nothing from Flair, and this would have been a really fine bout.

06.05.2024 | MarkMcMarkington2 | 7.0 | AJ Styles and RVD are two of my all time favorites but this doesnt click as youd think it would. A good match, but not great as youd expect from these guys.
12.04.2024 | TheLegitBoss | 6.0 | Something didn't click with me about this match and I can't put my finger on it honestly, since the wrestling was clean, the action was fun but it clearly lacked energy and the crowd did try to be invested from time to time but I think it went on too long for a match that wasn't ultimately very interesting. Between their first short-ish TV match and now this one, I think we just had to accept that they didn't have the greatest chemistry. But then again it was far from bad, but that ending with Flair & Lethal finished me off.

29.05.2020 | Booker C | 5.0 | RVD vs. AJ Styles hatte durchaus gute Ansätze.

15.11.2010 | WCWWECW | 7.0 | in ordentliches Match.
