[9.0] "Absolutely amazing really. AEW are awesome when it comes to having that kind of matches. It's Halloween, they all came dressed with some goofy and funny costumes. The beginning of the match is extremely entertaining, while not being pathetic or stupid at all. After the commercial break, it went full spotfest mode, and it honestly was fantastic wrestling. The ending was great, the sequence of Adam Page revealing himself as the marshmallow man, helping the Dark Order and landing the Dead Eye on Kenny is a brilliant tease for their match. Anyway, this match is awesome, it's funny and comedic but in a creative and nice way, the wrestling is still great, Dark Order and The Elite are always great to watch. No false note."
[7.0] "This is an intense rivalry between the Dark Order and the Elite. Or so I'm told by the announcers. I don't remember anything about this "intense rivalry". The Elite come to the ring dressed like the Ghostbusters like a bunch of geeks. God this was stupid when it started, but it quickly picked up with the Adam Page switcheroo."
[10.0] "A match like this being possible is why I love wrestling so much. The blood feuds and "arghh I'm gonna kill you now" feuds are at the core of pro-wrestling, but this type of shit I love having in it just as much. This match is some of the most fun I've had watching wrestling ever. The classic Elite Halloween costumes, the proton packs, Uno riding Matt, the insane final stretch of the match, it's just too much to list. Stu and Johnny Hungie had some amazing sequences in there as well, so this wasn't just a full-on DDT comedy match, but also a damn good wrestling match. There was even subtle storytelling weaved in, when Cole started calling the shots and then took Kenny's place in between the Bucks. Hangman being revealed as the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man is still an all-timer AEW moment. And all of this while the crowd goes ape-shit around them, loving every second of what they're seeing. Having this be part of the build to the AEW World title match between Kenny and Hangman might feel weird at first, but comedy was just as big a part of their history as drama was, so I think it was more than fitting having this match on the road to their fateful meeting. ****3/4"
[8.0] "I can understand why a lot of people hated this match but I honestly think that is very funny. It might be too goofy, stupid, over the top and have your world champion dressing as a ghostbuster might not be great but I believe that it's a good thing, sometimes, to turn off your brain and watch HANGMAN ADAM PAGE DRESS UP AS MARSHMALLOW MAN AND HIT KENNY OMEGA WITH A DEA EYE. The action was good all throughout the match with lots of funny moments and the ending might be one of the most satisfying things I've ever seen. 8/10 - 4*/5*"
[8.0] "It was a very good match tons of fun here and a nice ending with the reveal of Hangman. If you have a problem with wrestlers wearing costumes for a special Halloween episode then you should watch something else because wrestling is meant to be fun. Watching grown men wrestle in tight underwear is okay but if they wear a costume it's an embarrassment for the business ? Pathetic. Just listen to the crowd going nuts"
"Easily one of the worst matches I've ever seen and it haunts me to this day. Everyone involved should be ashamed and between this fiasco and the Lights Out match with Orange Cassidy, Adam Cole never recovered. It's hard to believe Omega and Page were building towards a world title match yet were out there playing dress-up. Remember the time Austin and Rock were dressed as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles for a tag match two weeks before Wrestlemania? No? 0/10."
[5.0] "I am a grumpy old man and hated this. I just don't think your top heel group with the world champion should be cosplaying as ghostbusters. The action was fine but nothing better than that."
[9.0] "I enjoyed this entertaining Main Event with wrestlers dressing up! Love seeing the Dark Order stronger than ever and Hangman alongside them closing out the show together laying out The Elite!"
[7.0] "Haters gonna hate. They were just here for the fun and I was quite enjoyed by this. Don't take yourself seriously but do it seriously. Tons of hilarious spots and that finish, clearly a feel-good moment. That was that, a feel-good moment for both fans and wrestlers."
[2.0] "This is the type of match that would get rousted if it took place in WWE, but gets a free pass in AEW for some reason. Excalibur calling Omega the best in the world while Omega is in the ring wearing a children's Halloween costume almost made me do a spit-take. I'm a fan of Omega's and think he's a fantastic talent, but the juxtaposition of that statement with that visual came across as absurd to the point of hilarity. If you go back and watch this match after knowing the ending, it's completely nonsensical that Adam Page (dressed as the Marshmallow Man) just stands outside the ring doing nothing while his friends are being beaten up with proton packs. It's also completely nonsensical that Brandon Cutler wouldn't take off his horse's head despite having his hands free. It would make sense if his hands were tied up, but they weren't, so there was literally nothing stopping him from removing the horse's head, removing the tape around his mouth, and showing his friends who he really was. I'm guessing they didn't think that one through."
[2.0] "This kind of match is really an embarassement to wrestling. It makes wrestling look dumb. It seems like you are watching some wasted friends doing having fun after a shitty backyard party at 4 in the morning. embarassing yes"
[8.0] "Great comedy match, not everything did it for me but the parts that did were truly hilarious. Evil Uno riding on his opponent as if they were a horse was my favourite. AEW is home to many styles of wrestling and I love them for it."
[8.0] "This was pretty good, especially the finish, some of the comedy stuff wasn't for me but still just look at that crowd reaction for the Page reveal."
[9.0] "I love that AEW can put this kind of stuff out to the mainstream audience. This is why The Elite became so important to this industry, having good matches with their friends. The action was fine, but adding the cinge/goofy fun made me absolutely love it. (**** tho)"
[4.0] "I think they probably should have stuck this in the mid card if they were going to do it. I'm going to sound like a buzzkill but bad comedy wrestling as an excuse for product placement is not the kind of match I enjoy, especially as a main event. It seems weird to have all these heated rivalries on the show, blood, violence, and everything else, and then send viewers away with the final message being "This is fake and none of this matters"."
[9.0] "This Halloween themed match was pure fan service and incredible fun to watch. Dark Order arrives mostly in cowboy gear. The custom Ghostbusters entrance including the Budge joke from Being the Elite shows the attention to detail these talented folks pay to their fans. As fas as the match itself goes, wow. Great pacing, some really well put together spots, and even some moments of intergroup tension among the Elite. John Silver got a lot of time featured in this match and it paid off. Colt Cabana sending up Cutler was great. The surprise ending, which plays off of the entrances, is really satisfying, as well as the post match action. Also, it's a match that's not for nothing as it pushes the Dark Order vs. Elite story along. Some might say it's too goofy or comedic, and for a typical PPV I might agree, but as a TV Main Event around Halloween special it is damn near perfect."
[3.0] "I know its Halloween and the costumes served a greater purpose for the finish, however. I just can't be done with more Elite Goofery. In this case it was Cosplay comedy. I found it hard to enjoy. But I did like the finish and Silver getting the win. So there is that."
[8.0] "Chaotic eight-man tag team match like we like to see with all these talented guys to end a solid episode of Dynamite, AEW really excels when they book these type of multi-man tag matches especially with The Elite in the equation and this was no exception to the rule as it was really great. The showstealer in my opinion without a shadow of a doubt, these guys put no limits on themselves and it was hilarious at times with The Elite playing up that Ghostbusters gimmick. The Dark Order were truly excellent and it was good to see them together like that, they're still a very popular stable and to see John Silver win for his team made me really happy because it means a lot. A great match with lots of very good spots that ends with a fantastic ending, what a damn good pop for Hangman."
[8.0] "Plain old fun. It was silly and over the top, of course, but it was also a Halloween episode of Dynamite and the type of entertainment that we should expect from this company. The wrestling was explosive, including some great moments from Colt Cabana, who I really hope receives more opportunities in AEW. We also got to see John Silver do his best Cesaro impression and Stu Grayson absolutely shine in a multi-man match, per usual. It will clearly be a divisive match due to the ending, but I was smiling from ear to ear as it happened. A great ending to a phenomenal episode of Dynamite. 4 stars, 8 out of 10."
[7.0] "A very house show match for better or worse. I enjoyed it and I think it's good to do that kind of match once in awhile and what better time than Halloween'"
[8.0] "I had a blast with this one. AEW excels with these multi-man tag team matches and this was no different. Sillier than normal, sure, but it was action-packed and never felt boring. It showcased the talent, their personalities, and had the fantastic reveal late that only added heat to Omega vs. Page at Full Gear. Throw in a little Halloween fun and you had a great end to a really strong episode that continued to plant the seeds for the Full Gear pay-per-view and give fans a taste of what is to come from AEW for the remainder of the year."
[5.0] "This main event was fine and I can understand why one would enjoy it but comedy wrestling just isn't for me at all. I thought the action in the match was fine until the ref got knocked out. It helped advance the Hangman story so there was a positive to come from this"
[4.0] "This should not have been a main event in my opinion. I get why this match happened, but man, comedy wrestling is just not my thing. The Elite come out as the Ghostbusters while the Dark Order come out as an assortment of different characters, most notably Stu as Kratos from God of War. I think it's perfectly fine to have this as a match, but it should not be a main event while your company has the most momentum they've ever had. Huge pop for Adam Page but that's really about it. I get why people liked this match, but it's just not for me.4"
[8.0] "A good old crowd-pleaser to finish. They've got a great formula for it with The ELITE, and these Dark Order guys in particular have it, especially Stu Grayson. Vastly better than the recent three-on-three."
[6.0] "This was on its way to being an even lower effort Elite multi-man match than usual, but hard work from some of the Dark Order guys, plus a very fun reveal at the end, made sure this was still an alright match. I struggled with the halloween costumes early on, which was goofy even by Elite standards, but The Elite still hit some fun signature spots, and Grayson and Silver worked quite hard to give energetic and athletic performances (with Uno and Cabana also being decent enough). A lot of the comedy in the first half was very silly, but the wrestling thankfully became more centre stage as the match progressed, though whenever they returned to the pure comedy it was always quite stupid and off-putting. I was just about to be even more annoyed by the even goofier use of the cosplay props as weapons, and also by the needless overbooking with the ref bump and those run-ins, but then I was immediately won back over by the reveal of who was under the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man costume, and especially with what they did after their reveal. Definitely a totally skippable match, but it had a few okay moments and a very fun finish. ***"
[10.0] "This is the definition of what a comedy match should be - funny but succeeds in the ultimate goal. Reminded me a lot of the PWG match with Future Shock, Young Bucks, and Super Smash Bros."
[7.0] "This match was a bit of a mess at points but the closing stretch with the angle was so good. A really fun holiday match and especially great to see the Dark Order (especially Colt) get to shine on offense so much, which isn't easy to do when it's easy to get overshadowed by The Elite's work."
[10.0] "Exactly what you would expect, and more than advancing the Hangman story, this also gives a boost to one of the best characters in AEW, John Silver. It was fun, fast, action-packed, and it never slowed down."
[10.0] "If you don't like it when an athletic, superbly performed, story-building match also makes you laugh, then this one isn't for you. As for me, I can hardly think of a way for this to have been better. All eight competitors, along with everyone else involved, were practically flawless here. The crowd was going nuts for everything. Despite the comedic tone to the match, there was a ton of storytelling, both short term (with Page building to his title match at the end) and long term (with Omega and Cole subtly miscommunicating). Just about any style of wrestling is great when executed well, and this match is proof of that. ****3/4"
[6.0] "I initially did not enjoy this at all, due to the ridiculous ref bump and the ensuing chaos. However, on a second viewing, I enjoyed it a fair bit more. The Dark Order are just really entertaining and I loved their costumes. I liked the Ghost Busters costume and entrance music as well. The comedy spots in this match were funny, but they also didn't detract from it at all, which is something I have to respect. The Young Bucks regularly do not sell, but this setting somewhat forced them to, which is nice. Happy Dark Order won, even if it wasn't really clean. Still not a huge fan of Kenny Omega participating in a comedy match as he is the world champion, but this did advance the story of Page/Omega, so it isn't really that bad. A fun main event but I enjoyed it more for the entertainment factors than for the wrestling that was offered. [***]"
[6.0] "The weekly Dynamite "party" match. It's hard to tire of these matches given their fast pace and exciting spotfest nature, but I'm starting to tune out of this kind of match every week. This week's Elite multiman might have had a little more substance than they usually do, but it was also a lot of shtick, so mileage may certainly vary. Awesome to see John Silver getting the pinfall, whatever the case. Fairly decent match. ***"
