I've heard an insane amount of good things about this match, but all I saw was a low energy match with a decent performance by Deeb and another underwhelming performance by Shida with a cheap finish. Shida goes right after Deeb early but her offense looked very weak. My main issue with Shida is her poor transitional work and underwater offense that is delivered either slowly or poorly. She's not a convincing worker in my eyes and I know I'm not alone in that view. Deeb lacks a definitive look and promo skills but she is a good technician. She had the best moments of the match but their chemistry never clicked. Of course I have to mention the finish which felt incredibly cheap and cheesy. **"

Besides just the bout, which felt competitive and technical, I want to point out spot with Shida grabbing her award and hesitating to hit Deeb with it. Referee was watching whole time and she would just lose, and this was tournament match no less. I don't really get that moment."

[5.0] "My first western women's match in a while. I've always been a bit pessimistic about AEW's women division, like the talents are mostly decent, but the quality just ain't there yet. I still think the missing puzzle piece will be a lead female main-event star, kinda like the Io Shirai in NXT situation, where a certain wrestler can single-handedly elevate the entire product, giving it a more legit and special feeling. Unfortunately, AEW doesn't own that certain woman yet. Looking at the roster right now, Baker obviously isn't the guy, Shida, probably no, Nyla is too old and no, Anna and Conti too green, Deeb is great, but no way they built the division around veterans, uhh, who else is there, Statlander and Hyter not there yet, Soho, umm, I'm not that high on her sorry. So yeah, the best option by far is Thunder Rosa, unless they miraculously bring someone like Io or Tessa Blanchard or maybe Jordynne Grace or even Miyu Yamashita in. Anyways, I'm still waiting for that certain woman to kick the intrigue in, before that, AEW's women division's ceiling would probably be like this match, perfectly competent but not that impressive either - **3/4."

The ton of references to Hart vs. DBS at SS '92 were great. Great matchup, Deeb was quite an asshole here. Intensity and storytelling for a great bout. I loved it."

Für mich, sicher in den Top 3 der Damenmatches dieses Jahr. Die Story rund um Shida, die endlich ihren 50. Sieg einfahren möchte, während Deeb nochmal Shida besiegen möchte, ist sehr gut erzählt worden. Im Match gab es sehr starkes Konter (z.B. Kneestrike von Shida in den Serenity Lock), was auch das Finish war mit den Konter des Einrollers. Auch die Post-Match-Attacke war richtig gut und hoffe, man bekommt noch ein entscheidendes Match der beiden."

[9.0] "A simple effective match with a very interesting story. I thought Deeb would be dominating here and keeping Shida on a losing streak that she could be built to break, but I think what we got was a lot more interesting. Shida had way more urgency compared to their last match, and Deeb was even more brutal on offense than before, while playing a great spoiler for any theatrics Shida may have thrown at her. Serena's work over the leg was wonderful as usual and the various holds and escapes were smooth and exciting to get the crowd even more invested in the match. Shida's offense wasn't really detered by the leg work, which is something I would've liked to have seen (especially after how well Punk did it earlier in the night), but her selling when on defense was good. A really hot finishing sequence with a great little character bit involving the broken 50th win trophy leads to Shida narrowly getting the rollup victory to a big pop. Another **** bout between these two, but again I give it a 9 because the build to the conclusion of their trilogy is becoming very interesting. If these two have a Lights Out match, they will KILL IT."

These wrestlers are excellent in their own ways so they naturally connected together and it was a blast to watch, they really do have an interesting chemistry and I'd love to see them conclude their trilogy soon because for me they can do a lot better than this. The match had the usual Deeb formula with some work from her on Shida's leg, but Shida's selling was clearly inexistent and that's my big problem with this bout as I expect much better from a wrestler like her in that area. I was happy with the result and then I remembered that we're going to have Hikaru Shida vs Nyla Rose for the thousandth time, I'm bored in advance."

[6.0] "This was slightly better than their first match but still nothing remotely special, and like with their first match, this was as good as it was because of Deeb. Shida simply isn't a good wrestler. She's fine -- acceptable as a lower- or mid-carder, but she simply doesn't have the skills to come across as a convincing top star compared to many of her other contemporaries, especially those in her home country of Japan. I liked the start, with Deeb showing a lot of good heel character work and Shida showing nice babyface fire as she hounded Deeb for revenge at being robbed of her 50th win and at being attacked after that match. Sadly, Shida didn't have the offence to back her character or story up. None of her strikes have especially good technique (seriously, imagine if Omega or another top AEW star delivered strikes the way she did here...), and she just looks like she's imitating moves she's seen in other wrestling matches or in martial arts movies. What kept this match 'alright' was Deeb, whose technical work looked even better than it did in their previous match. I really enjoyed the way she methodically targeted Shida's leg with a variety of attacks. Her various entries, transitions, and counters were all quite smooth and creative. To Shida's credit, her leg-selling was decent enough. Shida and Deeb's chemistry was mostly fine but also quite poor at times, with some spots and exchanges being either too slowly set up or just clumsily set up. And of course, the one responsible for these awkward moments was always the vastly overrated Shida, who seemingly can't deliver any of her attacks convincingly no matter how long she takes to set them up (again, imagine a top star like Page or Darby taking *that* long to execute so many of their signaure attacks... it would be embarrassing to see). The moment with Shida's 'internal struggle' on whether to attack Deeb with the 50-wins award was peak melodrama, with Shida completely hamming it up with her goofy expressions and Deeb playing the generally cowardly heel begging for mercy and then poking the eyes for a cheap roll-up pin attempt. Stupid stuff. ***"
[9.0] "I gave their first match a 6 rating because the lack of heat from the crowd really killed it for me, even though the work wasn't bad. This, however, was unquestionably great with a vastly better crowd and even better work. Quite easily the best women's match AEW has seen in way too long."

Deeb was really damn good for the most part, despite one or two spots that looked a bit off. The finish of the match was wonderful as well. I'm a sucker for Deeb's Malenko-inspired technical wrestling, so this was right up my alley. Pair that with Shida's expert babyface fire and you've got a real treat. The ending sequence was 5-star stuff, and Deeb going full-heel was the cherry on top. ****1/2"
[8.0] "This was a fantastic match. Had a constant pace early on and reached a third gear towards the end. Tons of fantastic technical wrestling in the early going and eventually became a story of desperation for both women as the match progressed. Lots of exciting near falls and and a fantastic finishing sequence. The winner was predictable seeing as whoever won this would go on to fight Nyla Rose, but this didn't take away from the many times I thought Deeb might come away with the win. It's also 50/50 booking which is disappointing but if it allows Shida and Deeb to have another match to finish the feud then I'm all for it. Great match. [***3/4]"
