[8.0] "The most WSX match I've ever witnessed. It was amazing with M-Dogg and Teddy being excellent high flyers and Horiguchi and Yoshino being good at being a base for them to work off of. The explosion spots looked good and it was a good way to end the feud."

[8.0] "A truly ridiculous match, but one that captured the vibe of WSX's short run perfectly. The walls of the cage are rigged to explode, and you win by pushing a detonator and escaping with the other team still in the cage. The wrestling itself is pretty good, Team Dragon Gate knows how to do fast-paced spotfests with urgency, and M-Dogg (Matt Cross) can too. They have good back-and-forth bits where they tease going into the cage. Teddy Hart just does Teddy Hart, including climbing to the scaffolding and doing an SSP off of it just because. The exploding cage isn't used constantly, but the pace and duration of the match means you see a few. People are thrown into it, people jump into it as they miss moves, and after being blinded by a fucking fireball Teddy powerbombs the REFEREE into it (as commentary affirms that the ref MUST be dead). Team DG push the big red button and escape, as Teddy tries to shield M-Dogg, but it's for naught, because the explosion effect used is SO MASSIVE that realistically everybody in the building would've died. Within 60 seconds of this explosion, the credits roll for the final time in this short-lived promotion. A very fun little footnote in the careers of Masato Yoshino, Genki Horiguchi, & Matt Cross, but I'm honestly convinced that this match is the peak of Teddy Hart. Worth tracking down on Youtube for a dose of insanity. EDIT: I rewatched this after a few years and this actually kicks more ass than I remember. The heat Team Dragon Gate get on the faces here is pretty great and they really unload every fucking move in their arsenals here. It's no Onita/Funk but the finish with the faces covering up the ref before the bomb goes off is pretty good too. All of WSX was worth it for this match. ***3/4+"
[3.0] "I don't understand why this match needed to be a cage match, as they just let Team Dragon Gate's manager into the ring so he could help his team. What's the point if there's just going to be interference as per usual in WSX? Putting guys in a cage should mean more than just throwing them in a gimmick match. There were some good spots, though the rules of this match were strange, as it seems whoever got out before the explosion wins. The explosions looked cool, with two sides of the cage being set to explode whenever someone hit the walls, and of course the whole cage exploding when the bomb went off. The match didn't go long, and the finish didn't feel like it was decisive in any way. These guys would have had a better match without all the gimmicks, though the wild stipulation fit the presentation WSX was going for."
[9.0] "honestly by this point they are start to figure out the show format, this got a good bit amount of time and some good spots even outside of the explosions. Explosions themselves though actually looks awesome, bring this match stip back!"
[9.0] "You know in wrestling empire when you load up a cage with dynamite then throw a four way in it? This match is the closest wrestling has gotten to simulating that feeling. And like those matches in wrestling empire it also only lasted a few minutes. Got in, exploded, got out. Excellent stuff. Point knocked off for skipping a bunch of cool stuff during the break then just showing us a montage of it afterwards."
