| 13 | 14.10.2021 | GoldLiger | 7.0 | I think this match is worth a watch, beyond being Bryan's last match for nearly 3 years due to his original medical retirement, or being one of the rare times Bryan & Cena got to tag on TV. It's structured very simply, with Cena getting worked over by the superior teamwork of Cesaro & Kidd who cut off the potential tag several times. Cena's FIP work has always been awkward, as he's always been more of a singles guy and he's obviously a powerhouse. The way he crawls towards his corner is so weird-looking, and the spot where Cesaro keeps dragging him to his own corner highlights it; then you have that weird superman dive from his knees that he always does when he tags, but hey it builds and releases tension for a moment so that's probably why he does it. Anyway, Bryan's hot tag here just kicks ass, he packs so much good stuff into a few minutes and neutralizes the tag team continuity between the tag champs perfectly. Love the finish with Bryan getting Tyson to bonk into his wife only for Cesaro to catch her, but then Cesaro dumps her on the floor to try and break up the Yes Lock, only to get AA'd as Kidd taps. Very fun TV main event short enough to not get a commercial break in the middle where all four guys put in the work to send the UK crowd home happy. ***1/4 |
