Moreso, the capacity of this match to narrate a vivid and thoroughly descriptive story is fascinating. I've stated this many times before and I'll say it again to emphasize solely on his masterful ability to effortlessly tell exciting and engaging stories, and an excellent grasp over various aspects of ring psychology that do a great deal in providing a touch of realism to his matches. This was no different, the construction of the story was brilliant, the presentation was highly coherent and the implementation was equally admirable. It was a clash of differing styles and different work ethics too. White can be introduced as a cunning and clever individual, he's an opportunist and Robbie cannot afford to give him the narrowest of spaces to capitalize on. He's also the heel and will play dirty when required with the added mind games which can aid him in getting under the opponent's skin. His ground game is strong and as observed in this match, he keeps the match grounded thwarting any attempt by Robbie to take it to the sky. In contrast, Robbie uses his speed and momentum which will come in handy, especially when dealing with a bigger opponent in Jay White. His strong point was staying airborne which he did here as well. He is a more straightforward individual and gives his all in the ring. This preview is necessary to understand the direction that this match would take as they completely followed these principles and tenets. The action was very exuberant and energetic too. It had a fiery flow, vehemence, and potency. The part that stood out to me was Robbie attempting an aerial maneuver but is caught mid-air by Jay and Robbie looks to avoid what seems like a DvD with elbow shots to the face and so Jay drops down with Robbie on his shoulders and he deadlifts Robbie up again and that too TWICE. Robbie also concentrated his offense on the leg of White so as to weaken the foundation of his core strength and was successfully able to do so and Jay sold it very well to enforce that belief. Jay and Robbie put up a competitive contest but in the end it was Jay who prevailed after a good set of sequences and reversals. Well-earned victory of Jay and Robbie certainly gave him a run for his money. ****1/4 |

White and Eagles have some history together and this was made clear as soon as the bell rang, with both just charging straight at each other and you could really feel that there is some tension between them. The match slowed down after a while and remained on the same level pretty much until the end. |

There was a history between the two and you could feel it and understand it as soon as the bell rang because of the animosity between them and the intensity they put into their moves. The first few minutes were pretty disappointing, it was kinda flat with White's dominance not being very exciting but as the minutes went by and especially after Eagles' big comeback, it became something really qualitative. White was decent and his heel-work was okay but the star of the match was clearly Eagles, his performance was fantastic and his work on White's leg in the last minutes was top notch. White take the win, Eagles take the spotlight. |
