[5.0] "Truly nothing special. I can't say I was expecting much. Although yeah these two are some all-time greats, its 2016. Neither of these guys were bad in 2016, but I don't think the styles these guys were working at the time would mesh very well with one another; and I was right. Its kind of slow and boring in the middle, whereas in the beginning snd end its a lot more frantic. I thought it was a decent attempt, and I feel it would be better under different circumstances. The early 2000s I feel this match would of worked best in. I feel also, that this match just kind of ends out of nowhere. There's not a huge attempt from either guy to make this intense, but it becomes especially apparent in the ending. Hardy hits a twist of fate out of nowhere, and it just ends like that after a Swanton. The reason why I have this match higher than like a one is because it is quite vibey, the crowd is worked well and overall its still a decent time to watch. Its just fun seeing two legends work together like this in any regard. Clearly neither guy gave it their all, but what they did give was somewhat passable. [**.25]"
[7.0] "Can't say that in-ring action was anything special, just a bunch of greatest hits and spots to pop the crowd, but it had a good kind of 'bizarro world' feel to it, which sometimes is much harder to capture than executing a convoluted sequence or high-spot."
[6.0] "A good watchable matchup between two pro wrestling legends. A good exhibition match, where both did not hesitate and went on the attack. In less than 10 minutes, enough tricks were shown in the ring."
[8.0] "This was a really solid match between two legends. Liger did a great job working Hardy's leg and I really liked the spot with the ringside table."
[8.0] "This was a really special match, and the #1 reason I went to see this show live over 5 years ago, but one I haven't rewatched until now. Cody & Angle played the hits in the main event, but this one had two high-flying legends really go all out for the time they had in this first (and only) time they ever worked together, and honestly it's better than I remembered it being. Jeff gets the upper hand quickly at the start with some big moves, but Liger manages to hit a superplex and takes over, doing really good work over Jeff's legs. I really like the bit with the hard plastic table that was right up to the apron, Liger dropping Jeff on it, seeing if he can get a count-out, and kicking out his leg through the ropes for a bump when he stood up. The Figure Four this builds to is very good, with Jeff selling but also defying Liger with his refusal to tap (something I only saw via the tape version). Even outside of the submission Liger goes after Jeff's legs when he wants to cut him off, and he does a great cannonball off the apron to the outside (reminder he was over 50 here). There's a couple good moments where the two of them clearly scouted each other, reversing or dodging signatures, but Jeff is just a little quicker and able to dodge a Shotei into a Twist of Fate that lets him hit the Swanton for the win. A quick but very enjoyable match where both guys put in the work, took bumps, and told a story of two legends clearly being aware of each other's work rather than just hitting all their moves and going home. I'd call this MOTN in retrospect, and I'm even happier that I was in the stands when it happened. ***1/2+"
