[7.0] "This was a pretty good match. Bret Hart leaving WWE by this point was pretty much assured. He was only a few weeks away from the defending the WWF title at Survivor Series, and little did we know the big event that would be the Montreal Screwjob. Ken Shamrock had only made his debut earlier that year, but they booked him pretty strong here against Bret. What's cool about this match is that Shamrock had a backround in MMA, so Bret was wrestling someone who was something of an equal in technical ability. It sucks that they never had a 20 minute match without commercials because these guys had chemistry. Shamrock had the match won, but in countering the Sharpshooter into an Ankle Lock, Earl Hebner got knocked down. Then as Bret used a chair and put the Sharpshooter on Shamrock, Shawn Michaels came out and superkicked Bret. Then as Shawn was beating on Bret, Shamrock snapped and attacked Shawn, which was fun to watch, after which a brawl broke out between Bret and Shawn. Not being around back then to watch Raw on a weekly basis, now I get why Ken Shamrock was the one who got the first shot at the WWF title after Shawn won it at Survivor Series. ***1/2"

The referee gets knocked out and Shamrock gets the visual win where he reversed the Sharpshooter into the Ankle Lock and Bret taps out hard. HBK eventually gets involved and all hell breaks loose. Easily the most entertaining match on the show so far."

[6.0] "Bret carries Shamrock to a decent match that plays into Shamrock's strengths and features a lot of mat-based stuff. In a glorious counter, Shamrock heel hooks his way out of a sharpshooter and is able to lock on an ankle lock, but he knocks over the referee in the process. Shawn Michaels runs down and lays out Bret with a superkick. Shamrock isn't pleased with HBK getting involved, so he snaps and takes out him. The match abruptly ends as Shamrock refuses to let Shawn go. This had a weak finish, but you could tell that Hart and Shamrock had chemistry and it's a shame they never had a chance to have a proper PPV match between them."

Even if the ref *was* knocked out, he'd surely wake up from a wrestler tapping out THAT hard. Idk this match just bugged me and I didn't think it was worthy of being on the guide, especially with that finish."

OK on the mic, intense but different ring entrances and extreme talent on the mat. Just before the no contest, Shamrock reverses the Sharpshooter into his Ankle lock finish. Just a thing fo beauty. Too bad, there wasn't four more years of these two guys selling out arenas across the country."
