| 2 | 29.08.2021 | Loki Hipster God | 9.0 | Kyle O'Reilly starts off the match not really taking Christopher Daniels seriously, a move that infuriates Daniels. We see this when O'Reilly messes with Daniels by frequently putting him in headlocks, and also when O'Reilly takes his eye off Daniels to argue with Frankie Kazarian outside. Daniels moves in and uses O'Reilly's hubris against him by taking the advantage while O'Reilly's guard is down. Daniels works over the arm and has O'Reilly in trouble, but O'Reilly is able to take back the advantage thanks to his superior counter game. Daniels doesn't make any mistakes in the match, O'Reilly's offense comes from his ability to counter Daniels' signature moves (including an awesome BME into a Triangle Choke counter. ) The fact that O'Reilly is able to counter both the BME and Angel's Wings shows how well he knows Daniels, and ultimately it becomes too much for Daniels and he's forced to tap. This may not be the flashiest match, but in terms of in-ring storytelling, these are two of the very best in this era. |
