Final two being Malenko and Lita was obvious. Credit to Malenko for selling so well for her. Watching Malenko rag doll Lita was a little uncomfortable. Wrong winner |

Lita gets some impressive offense going and honestly doesn't look out of place fighting with the guys and she gets a few decent near falls on Dean before he takes control. Her selling is also very good in the closing sequence where Dean starts punishing her. |

Some will say it felt rushed and while it did in some ways, Attitude Era pay-per-view openers are typically quick sprints designed to get the crowd riled up, which they were for this match. The elimination part of the match was not exactly necessary, but it did allow Malenko and Lita to have a brief encounter to close the match, which makes sense considering that was the story at the forefront. Matt and Jeff Hardy brought their typical high-flying style, Saturn was putting in a solid performance, Guerrero is great as always although he does feel like an afterthought in this match which I'm iffy on, Malenko looked good and played his creepy stalker character well and Lita had a good underdog performance trying to put him away. A solid opener, gets a 6/10. |

Eddie wearing a singlet style outfit similiar to his early days in WCW because of a groin pull or something so he probably won't last long. This elimination match goes way too fast to be believable. First up. Lita gets a diamond cutter on Eddie then Jeff polishes him off with the swanton at only. Jeff goes with Saturn next and falls victim to the death valley driver. Matt comes in and does a mini match with Saturn. He gets Saturn with the twist of fate. Terri interferes and gets taken down by Lita then in the scuffle Matt gets rolled up by Malenko. Lita head scissors Dean and gets a victory roll for 2. She goes upstairs, and a moonsault gets 2. Float over DDT and she goes upstairs again, but a Dean superplex gets 2. He picks her up which should hint that Lita will win. Two he gets a back breaker then puts on the cloverleaf to win. Just people hitting finishers in rapid succession with no proper build up. |
