[8.0] "Brilliant content from these two guys. A battle of attrition between two hoss fighters. This was brutality personified , they put everything behind those strikes. The concept this bout followed was straightforward "two big men slapping each other in the most stiff way possible" and I absolutely love it. The match was structured in a formidable manner and the story-telling was detailed and well explained. Moose dominated in the early goings over-powering Ishii but that was not enough to satisfy Moose's ego as he would add insult to injury by disrespecting Ishii and exhibits the cocky side of his persona. Ishii fights back but it is just not enough to take down the big man. Moose jokingly shoves him off frequently. Ishii is slowly replenishing and collecting a series of offense to unleash at Moose and after several attempts at challenging himself is able to rock Moose off of his feet. Ishii is able to display his resiliency and clearly has the crowd behind him. It is a very hard-hitting affair from the chops , forearms and lariats and Moose showing off his freakish athleticism was also a welcomed addition. Those drop-kicks are damn impressive for someone with such a stature. Ishii and Moose fight to the end till their last breath and in the end it is Ishii who prevails in a battle against adversity despite the odds being stacked against him. Ishii cannot only kick ass but take a good beating and deliver a deadlier onslaught of offense in return. Fantastic wrestling content. ****1/4"

[10.0] "This match was a real pleasure to watch, better even than I expected. Moose was always a fairly athletic hoss, but he seems to have worked extra hard to get into even better shape and now does some really eye popping stuff for a 6'5, 300 lbs dude, not only able to fly at times but also not losing perspective on what his size and power allows him to do. He took the fight to Ishii here and at times I felt like I was watching a T-rex attack a car, as the massive Moose tried to make headway on the hard as rock Ishii. Both guys acted like they had something to prove and the match was very impressive for it. My only real nitpick is I honestly though Moose should have picked up the win. Even so, fantastic match."

[8.0] "This was very good but at the same time felt like a generic Ishii match. Although everything was quite smooth, it didn't reach the next level. Moose worked really well with a lot of great strikes. Ishii was good as usual and did his own stuff. They meshed well with each other but the match did feel dragged at some points. Still worth watching."

[9.0] "Tomohiro FUCKING Ishii. That's all. He cannot put a bad match, especially when he's facing big lads like Moose. The faceoff makes you laugh a bit when you notice that Moose easily is way more toller than Ishii. It was the match we wanted to see : beat the shit out of each other with powerful strikes and moves with some fucking crazy bumps. They excelled at it. Surely the show-stealer and a great showcase for Moose, well highlighted by Ishii."
WrestleWire wrote on 17.08.2021:
[8.0] "Tomohiro Ishii vs. The Super Heavyweights is a series of matches that could easily define one of the greatest careers in professional wrestling history. From solid encounters with the likes of Dave Mastiff and his first battle with Moose, to spectacular showings against Big Damo, Chris Hero, and Keith Lee, Ishii has been the best underdog of the post-Mysterio Prime era. In this one, he faces a rematch against a man who knows his tactics and has grown immeasurably as a wrestler over the past five years. Moose also looks absolutely shredded. And, as expected, this was like watching a great running back meet a defensive lineman at the line of scrimmage. Only the running back might as well be Bo freaking Jackson. Moose pulls out every trick in the book, including some genuinely unbelievable offensive sequences that made Ishii look completely overmatched. But, as the king of psychological warfare does, Ishii proves that he doesn't need the pomp and circumstance. He unleashes strikes that hurt as much mentally as they do physically, and wins the war of chops, forearms, and shoulder blocks despite dropping countless battles. This was an absolute war that I will certainly rewatch in the future. Ishii is a living legend and Moose is an absolute star. 4. 25 stars, 8. 5 out of 10. Match of the Night."

[8.0] "The Match of The Night. That was exactly what I was looking for. Moose can definitely deliver a top quality match. Ishii was just Ishii - I mean perfect. Everything worked, many cool moments, great exchanges. I highly recommend this one."

[8.0] "A high '7' or a low '8' for me. Fun match and a great spectacle which made very good use of try/fail/try again spots. Of all the crossover matches so far, this one felt the most surreal to me. I'm not entirely sure why. This is one of the best Moose matches I've seen, and as we all know, many wrestlers can say their best match was against Ishii, but Moose was very good here too. Best match of the show."

TheLegitBoss wrote on 15.08.2021:
[9.0] "Great match between Ishii and Moose here, the best way to describe this match would be to say that it was simply the match we were hoping to have with two talents of this stature who always go hard in their strikes and hit like never before. Here they literally beat the crap out of each other and it was clearly a dream match that delivered to the hype, one of the marquee matches of this show and it didn't disappoint at all. Both developed a real chemistry the moment the bell rang, they knew very well how to attack the other and the dynamic of the match was interesting from bell-to-bell. The size difference wasn't a problem (although it was pretty awkward let's be honest) and it never is with the Stone Pitbull anyway. All in all, this is the best match on this show so far (I haven't watched the rest yet) and I think it will be the MOTN because it was so good, a stiff hard-hitting affair that I recommend."
NikoKillbain wrote on 15.08.2021:

GGS06 wrote on 15.08.2021:
[8.0] "Definitely match of the night, not a single second I didn't enjoy in this match. The story was the simple David vs. Goliath thing, and both did great with the story. Ishii kicked ass and made Moose even better... who was already great. Awesome action, good spots, this is the match to watch. Just a brawl, good match. Rating: {8/10} Star Rating: {****}"
Wright15 wrote on 15.08.2021:
[9.0] "Like his matches with Keith Lee, the story revolved around Ishii overcoming the much larger opponent. And Ishii and Moose did a great job telling that story. Moose got to show off his athleticism, and Ishii was himself, arguably the best in-ring worker of all time. ****1/4"

[7.0] "It was the best match of the show to me, even if it's far from being incredible. Some very good strikes by these two, Moose put some good Chops and good Dropkicks as always but this match would've been far better if it was shorter and with a more compacted action. Moose's kickout at 1 during the match was a moment I didn't really like. ***1/2"

[7.0] "Pitbull vs Moose! Man, what a good match! Both of them worked out very well here and Moose impressed me a lot! I didn't remember him being that athletic! Ishii kicking out at 1 and Moose kicking out at 0 was amazing and really hyped me, making me like the match even more. Ishii showing his strenght against another big guy was incredible. Also, that Spinebuster from the Top Rope looked brutal! ****"

Evan Jackson wrote on 15.08.2021:
[8.0] "Another great "Ishii vs big guy" match. Loved this match. In starting as expected Moose dominated Ishii, Ishii tried his best to take down 1 ft taller guy than him but Moose was too much for him. Still Ishii showed his real strength to Moose. Moose didn't look bad in losing. There were some awesome nearfalls in match. Hard-hitting at some points too. Overall loved it. Ishii vs big guy matches are always like this but Ishii still manages to make his matches entertaining. My favorite match of show. (****)"

[9.0] "Awesome match, I really enjoyed it, as it was the best of the show! It was very hard-hitting and stiff, typical for Ishii therefore, they exchanged some impressive strikes and laritas and their chops looked so devastating! I also liked how both hit each other with a lariat and both kicked out at 1. Cool ending stretch as well, there were some nice kickouts like Ishii kicking out of Moose's powerbomb. The brainbuster by Ishii to finish the match looked impressive too."
